Roaring Fork is an American Western Bistro. What is American Western Cuisine? It is a combination of using foods that are indigenous to the American West, locally grown ingredients, and capturing the 'spirit' of the west. The restaurant offers a comfortable, laid back environment that includes friendly professional service and good food. A great deal of attention is paid to all the ingredients in creating the recipes and always using foods that are found in the American West, including locally grown produce. Western cuisine is not a ceremony; it's a celebration! The robust flavors and the courage to try something different is what we are all about.   • "Roaring Fork is always a nice place as a change of pace to other higher-end Scottsdalean restaurants. Has a nice western almost coyboyish ambience but not over the top. If you want a seat in the bar area for happy hour you better get there before it opens at 4 PM. There's a line ready to make a mad dash. The actual restaurant opens at 5 PM. Very nice menu, the food is good, and they take the extra time to make the presentation of each dish something special. All for a reasonable, but not inexpensive, price."

  • "We were a group of 7, celebrating an anniversary, and RF was SO kind as to let us bring our own cake. Not only that, they presented it, sliced it, served it and washed the cake plate! The service was to a tee, and the entire experience was such fun. All of us are regular customers (in fact, I was back with friends the next evening!) and we will continue to be. Thanks, RF, for making our night out so special!"

  • "Every time we go to Roaring Fork we have great service, great food and a great atmosphere. The food is always delicious and well prepared. The bread basket at the beginning of the meal is another plus. The manager comes to each table to see if everything is just the way you want it. The restaurant also gives you points toward money off another meal. Just ask for their card."

  • "We ordered a ribeye and a filet and neither one came out as ordered. Overcooked slightly. If they specialize in steak, it should be perfectly cooked. The mussel appetizer was great... full of flavor with crusty garlic bread for dipping into the savory mussel broth. The bread pudding was nice but needed more fruit and it was quite shallow in the dish. The bread basket was not worth the carbs. Overall it was a good dinner but we enjoyed happy hour in the bar area much better when we visited several months back."

Food, one meal was great, 3 were average. Pork tenderloin was dry and scallop dish flavor was not up to speed. It is nice place but will not dine there again for sometime, much better choices available. Sad as I have in past always enjoyed this local spot"

  • "Had a wonderful dinner date here with my husband this past weekend. The restaurant is nice and a bit fancy, but doesn't seem fancy in a "stuffy" or snobby kind of way. Waiter was great, and support staff was also very good. When we mentioned to the manager it was a bit hot at our table, she immediately moved us to another table and made sure we were happy. Definitely appreciate that kind of customer service! We will be back again."

Noisy, Noisey, Noisy....way too many people crammed into a small space...felt like I was involved with the party at the table next to me! Not conducive to quiet conversation and dinners..probably won't go back even though I have been there many times. Disappointed this time......"

  • "I shared the Date Salad which had an interesting blend of ingredients and was very good. The spit roasted chicken was very good, but not outstanding. One dining partner had the burger which he totally enjoyed. Thank goodness he has a huge appetite because the burger was enormous. The service was attentive and friendly. The noise level was a little too high and there was nothing to absorb it."

  • "We decided to try this place for my husbands birthday. I sent them an email with my reservation asking them to do something special for his bday and when we arrived they had put balloon confetti on the table and a card signed by all of the staff. It was really nice. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was really romantic and great. We did bring our 3 boys and they tend to get a little noisy (they're 9,7, and 4). We felt a little out of place but didn't worry too much about it. We were really happy with our service at first but towards the end out waiter forgot about us for like 30 min. A little disappointing. Great food though!"

We were seated near the bar which was noisy so I'd recommend requesting a table away from the bar if you want to have an intimate conversation. The "fun" western ambiance is additive. It was the last day for "Restaurant Week", I was told, so I took advantage of the special 3-Course Restaurant Week menu that was offered along with the regular menu. The food was very good, but portions were very small, (and I am a woman saying this)! I was still hungry after I left there. Maybe the portions are larger on the regular menu. I will give Roaring Fork, another try in the future to find out. If I am disappointed again by the portion size, I will not be back. The food was good. However, I was surprised that there were no barbequed items on the menu whatsoever for Memorial Day."

  • "We are avid Happy Hour customers who happen to live in the neighborhood and until now have never eaten in the "real restaurant." We decided Restaurant week would be the way to test it! Wow, we will return! We each had the filet with the "special green Mac and cheese" and a huge salad and bread pudding for dessert.....and of course my usual Huckleberry frozen margarita.....what a perfect meal and evening.....The service was as great as the food and drinks....We suggest you try it too!"

  • "We chose the filet because the other entrees would be available and budget friendly on another visit. The steak was very tasty and tender, done to perfection/med-rare. I had a delicious salad and my daughter had tortilla soup and loved it. We took our dessert home to enjoy later. The service couldn't have been better. Everyone was both friendly and efficient. We have dined here several times with friends and family and will definitely be returning again. The food and service has always been wonderful. I said the noise level was energetic because we had a view of the kitchen and the orders came out near our table. The tables in this area are booths for 2. If you want a quieter table don't sit here. We weren't bothered by it. "

  • "Was at a large meeting/convention at large hotel near Scottsdale. Decided to venture out for dinner to get away. Looked on some review sites and found the Roaring Fork with positive comments. First, it was a little difficult to find based just on address. It is tucked away off the road in the bottom of large business complex without any real signage. However, once we found it; definitely impressed on the interior. The place was hopping at 6:30pm on a Monday night. The bar was full and restaurant had a large number of patrons. The service was absolutely impeccable with timing, and temperature of the food. The wait staff was very attentive to every question, need, and observation. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food. "

  • "I was really excited to come try this place out after hearing about it several times through work colleagues (I work for a DMC in Scottsdale and we sell this restaurant to our clients often) but wasn't completely blown away. The food was pretty good (best menu items we had being the pulled pork with tortillas and the queso dip) but it did seem as though some items could have been done with a little more creativity (for example, the tortilla soup) considering the pricing of this restaurant. My biggest complaint though (although the overall experience was pretty good) would be the restaurant's ambiance and decor. It looks very old and doesn't really fit with the menu in my opinion. However, the service we had was absolutely fantastic! "
