Roaring Fork is an American Western Bistro. What is American Western Cuisine? It is a combination of using foods that are indigenous to the American West, locally grown ingredients, and capturing the 'spirit' of the west. The restaurant offers a comfortable, laid back environment that includes friendly professional service and good food. A great deal of attention is paid to all the ingredients in creating the recipes and always using foods that are found in the American West, including locally grown produce. Western cuisine is not a ceremony; it's a celebration! The robust flavors and the courage to try something different is what we are all about. We would like to invite everyone to experience our 'spirit' while enjoying our food and hospitality.Continued

  • "We had a reservation and were seated prompty; however, next to a very large and loud party, so I asked that we be moved. We were then taken to a wonderful booth; ordered wine, browsed the menu and the hostess came by to say - we don't mind that you are sitting there, but we will need to seat another party in 45 minutes. I was not interested in spending in excess of $100 for a 45 minute dinner and protested. She then muttered, whatever and left. We never were asked to leave but it put a damper on our evening. The food and wine was fantastic but I was on edge that any moment we would be pressured to leave. Not the experience I had hoped for."

  • "We came to Scottsdale for a bachelorette party and had a great time! We made reservations online there was a group of 11 of us and since we made them the same week we were unable to sit next to each other but that was our fault for waiting to book a few ahead of time. But the service and food was outstanding!! Prices were reasonable for how nice the restaurant was. The boneless fried chicken was amazing! The kettle of spicy pork was like no other! A must have for a starter!! Just a great place you will not be disappointed."

  • "When I made reservations for my daughter's birthday, I let the restaurant know when making the reservation & when we were seated at our table, there was a card on the table with all the staffs' signatures as well as birthday themed confetti all over the table cloth. This just added to the celebratory dinner & the best part she was given a free birthday dessert."

  • "We were visiting from NM and while looking up restaurants in town, we came across raving reviews for Fork. We were greeted at the door with friendly, unprentious greetings and escorted to bar while we waited for table. The Arnold Palmer cocktail is my new favorite drink... We returned to the hostess at our reservation time and were seated wtihin 5-10 miniutes. Our waiter was attentive, timely and subtle. We ordered mussels as an appetizer and were pleasantly suprised by the quantity and quality of the dish. For dinner, the duck was prepared with expert skill. Dessert included salted carmel ice cream and chocolate pecan pie with fresh whipped cream. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who lives in town, or visiting from afar."

  • "5 out of 6 of my group ordered steaks, and they were delicious. They are "off the menu" but very reasonably priced and cooked to perfection. My boyfriend and I go here quite often to get away for the night- easy to get to and service and food are always great. I will continue to go back here."

  • "I had been to the Roaring Fork long ago, and thought when I saw their happy hour ad my friend and I decided to try them again. Firstly, it would have been helpful to know that the happy hour prices ONLY applied while in their overcrowded and extremely loud bar. When seated in the restaurant, I was told with a shrug that I only had the dinner menu available to me. I resigned myself to that and ordered an overpriced appetizer from the lackadaisical waiter. It was fine, as was the wine we had, but a $75 bill for a flatbread and a couple glasses of wine seems ridiculous. It was nothing special and in this town that gives me no reason to return."

  • "The food was delicious, and the prices were moderate (especially considering the neighborhood). Service was timely and in capable hands. Despite being fully booked the noise level was moderate. We had no trouble carrying on a conversation. Our only complaint is that the place is so popular that it is always crowded."

  • "Server advised us they were out of special long after we ordered after our 3 course meal. Kitchen should have advised server they were out of certain dishes. Screwed up the 3 course meal and replacement dishes. Furthermore the entrees were not properly cooked and eventually removed from the bill. We sat with dirty appetizer dishes for 15 minutes. All staff members walked past us and saw the empty dirty plates but never picked them up. Communication is severely lacking and proper cooking temperature in the kitchen is lacking as well. Spend your money elsewhere!!!"

  • "The last time we were there was 8 years ago and upon our recent return to AZ we knew above all we wanted to go back there and we were not disappointed in the least. The menu is complex yet not stuffy. The food is imaginative yet approachable. We had the pork wings appetizer sounds odd but tastes heavenly. For my entree I had the scallops (a newer dish on their menu) goodness gracious spectacular. The scallops had a little color on the outside and prepared the way I love scallops which is cooked through yet not overcooked. The bean puree they sat on was divine. For dessert we had the pecan pie so good. Our waiter was Darrell and he rocked it. He made our special time even more special."

  • "We had a group celebrating 2 birthdays and let them know when we made our reservation. The table had confetti and a signed card - nice touch. The waitress could have been more attentive. I did not know we had to ask for a birthday cake. We saw one delivered to another table. Thought our waitress would bring it since she knew it was a birthday celebration (gift bags, etc.). We started at the bar for an hour and the drinks and apps were delicious. Everyone loved the sliders. At the table. the food was outstanding. The pork carnitas received rave reviews along with the chicken. We will be back."

  • "We were extremely disappointed with the price increase and reduced size and quality of the double cut pork chop. I can understand a price increase but going from $18 to $25 is ridiculous . We both felt also that the quality ( tenderness ) was not as good as we have had in our many previous visits. We will think twice before returning."

  • "This was a surprise from the beginning to end. Our greeter was very friendly. The table was in a nice place. We had 6 in our party. Our server greeter came to our table promptly, was very attentive. The place was busy but it seemed everyone was attended promptly. Food was prompt and hot. We were check on regularly. We were shocked when we got our bill. We expected a large bill and got a bill less than expected. For picking a resturant on a whim at a spot in a business park. This was total overall wonderful experience. Thank you to everyone there."

  • "We went on a Monday night and the place was packed which is a good sign. We were a group of 5 and all meals were wonderful! I had the buttermilk fried chicken and almost cleaned my plate (which is something I rarely do). The only downside was having to sit 5 people at a table for 4. We were very crowded."

It was delicious and had us wanting to come back for a repeat. Our group also had the salmon which we found to be the best we have ever had. The service was great!!!! We definitely will be coming back. It is truly a gem. Although we did not experience the outside dining, it looked great."

  • "The western decor and roomy booth were the best part of the evening. Of the food items, our pork kettle appetizer was the best. The tortilla soup was disappointing and the fish in the fish tacos was overcooked and dry. Not worth the $55 per person tab. Cocktails badly overpriced. Just another pretentious "hot spot" like all the other overpriced chain restaurants. Nothing distinctive here."

Chose it for it's inclusive menu that features great seafood, chicken, steak and pork dishes so it is pretty much impossible for someone to go there and not find something that they like. Prices reflect the environment but are completely reasonable. 4 of us ate there for $150 which included 2 drinks, 1 side dish, 3 salads, and 4 entrees."

  • "Decided to try this restaurant for an anniversary dinner, and wow! It was all so amazing. Our waiter was great, the food is so amazing, and the whole atmosphere was nice. We went on a Friday night and it was pretty busy, but it wasn't bad at all. Everything smelled and tasted so wonderful. I can't wait to go back."

  • "We were promptly seated at our table. And waited. And waited. Nobody came to our table for almost 10 minutes. Our water glasses were dirty (all 3), but once someone showed up at the table to fill them, they were promptly replaced. When our server showed up, she was very pleasant, but disappeared for lengthy absences. Fortunately, the food was delicious and mitigated the experience."
