Roaring Fork-North Austin, StonelakeMOTHERS DAY BRUNCHWe thoruughly enjoyed the food, service and overall experience. The food was excellent.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchMy husband and I are empty nesters. We never did the brunch thing because we thought the lines would be bad and the food only adequate. However, eating at the Roaring Fork was not the case. The buffet line was minimal. The food was wonderful! The carving station was amazing, loved the turkey and the beef. The dessert bar, excellent! Being able to order french toast, eggs and pancakes was a bonus. The french toast was amazing! We will go back next year for Mother's Day! Please forward this to the restaurant, I tried but it was too long.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ambiance and Great happy hourWe've enjoyed Roaring Fork since thy opened and bring out of town friends there. It's a unique
restaurant with upscale contemporary decor with beautiful outdoor view of large trees at the edge
of the lake of the quarries. The Happy Hour is great with very good appetizers and mixed drinks-
We make this our meal! The lunch menu is also great! Very good service, also! Roaring Forks is our
"to go" restaurant for a nice evening out.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMCelebrationI took my family out to celebrate my daughter's birthday and graduating from high school, and my son passing all of his classes at college. My wife and kids ordered the NY Strip which was very flavorable and tender. I had the Rainbow trout which was outstanding. The sides of mashed potatoes and green beans were excellent as well.
The waiter was very helpful in providing tasters of 3 different wines that I wanted to try a Tempranillo, Malbec, and a blend. I chose the Malbec and was pleased with it. It was a good match for the seasoning used with the Rainbow trout.
At times the noise level made it difficult to hear each others conversation, but overall we had a great time.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMVery cool placeFood was awesome, and Zeb, our waiter was very nice.
Food service was a bit slow outside, and they could have used some shading devices for the setting sun being an issue on the porch.
Other than that, the wine was awesome, the food was way out yummy good, and once the sun set, the ambience was great.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food not found in myGreat food not found in my kitchen. Wide selection and well prepared. Reasonably priced. Service was friendly and knowledgable.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways fine...We've been to Roaring Fork many times now for both happy hour and full dinners with friends. They are consistently excellent and will never disappoint. I have not had a bad (or even mediocre) meal yet. This is our easy selection "go-to" restaurant when we want quality food and atmosphere. It can get a bit noisy inside but not excruciating. We'll be back!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe steak and cheesecake wereThe steak and cheesecake were amazing! My husband and I joked we could cut the steak with a fork it was so tender!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMService was exceptional.Service was exceptional. Waiter was responsive, helpful, creative and accommodating.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMA gem in AustinWe had an excellent meal at Roaring Fork, with an incredible waiter with acting chops! He was charming, responsive, and served everything as we asked. We shared a Field Market Greens salad, which was excellent, and we appreciated that it was divided in the kitchen and served individually. We both had the daily special, a lovely halibut served over spaghetti squash. The seasonings were delicious. We accompanied that with an order of sautéed spinach. The combination was wonderful. Exceptional!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and atmosphereThis was our second visit to Roaring Fork and we were just as impressed as the first time. The fish tacos were very good and we shared a side of Mexican Street Corn which is one of their best signature sides. It was a little cool on the patio but we had a nice view of the quarry lake. Try the Texas Kicker, a mix of vodka and ginger beer that makes a refreshing cocktail.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friend and I went to lunchMy friend and I went to lunch during Restaurant week. The food was good and we enjoyed it very much. I had the Tortilla Soup and it was tasty. I then had the Pork Enchiladas and it was sweeter then I was expected but had good flavor I just prefer things a bit more spicy then sweet.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOur experience with the restaurantOur experience with the restaurant was fine, but not with our reservation. I asked for an outside table, on the right side of the patio, at 4:30. When we arrived, we were told that side was booked for a party. They tried to seat us in an outdoor area enclosed with plastic panels, which would have been uncomfortable on a humid day, and not like sitting outside at all. Then they offered a table in full sun. There were many tables outside, all of which had a "Reserved" sign on them. We were there for several hours, and all of those tables were not occupied. Since we couldn't get an outside table that we wanted, we sat in the bar area.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAustin restaurant weekWe were outside and the noise level was very minimal4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for business and romanticWonderful service, ambiance, and overall experience. Would give more stars if possible.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife’s second visit myMy wife’s second visit my first – she had the same thing for lunch – the Two Step, trout with Caesar salad. I was headed for the same thing but was diverted to the “Chili Philly” – their spin on the Philly cheese steak – really good steak with green chilies, onions and lots of cheese, it was excellent. I also had a bite of my wife’s trout, it too was excellent – I’ll order it next time (unless I’m distracted by the daily special again). We’d go back to Roaring Fork – North Austin in a heart beat!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Guacamole appetizer wasThe Guacamole appetizer was great...very fresh! And the salmon entree was delicious! Very busy but staff were cordial and were quick to recognize us and seat us. Wait staff was attentive and offered several suggestions for menu choices. We chose the breakfast tacos with pork carnitas and the halibut (special feature) and also had carrot cake. All were served timely, were presented very well, and were delicious. Look forward to next visit.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a wonderful meal!!!Always a wonderful meal!!! Food presentation could use alittle help on a few of the dishes!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAs a new location for EasterAs a new location for Easter brunch, we had a really great experience. The honey dipped chicken and biscuits and gravy were incredible. Could have done without the onions in the gravy, but the food was all very enjoyable.
There always seem to be a high number of employees on staff per shift, but they seem to work really well together. Our waiter was excellent, and the rest of the team was really helpful. We never had empty water glasses or had to wait too long for a mimosa refill.
Overall, we had a really nice time, and will definitely consider doing brunch or happy hour there next time we are looking for a place to go.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOur family went for EasterOur family went for Easter Brunch and we had a great experience. The food was outstanding and the service was great! We enjoyed the experience and would definitely return for a special occasion.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Patio and AmbienceOutstanding ambience and lakeside patio. Fairly good food; new menu not as good as the old one, Specifically, the lamb chops/fondue on the bar menu was delicious, beef fondue is not nearly as good. Easter evening, the "lamb" was at least three years old or more - extremely tough! And (sob) the ribs are gone! However, will go back again because of the ambience and service, not because of the food.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was good, service wasFood was good, service was good, but it was TOO LOUD. We were a party of five, and conversation was impossible because we couldn't hear one another at all.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a pleasure - greatAlways a pleasure - great food, good friends, love the little corn muffins at the table.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a mix up with our tableHad a mix up with our table but the manager fixed it and we had a great evening3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMInformed ChoiceWe were in Austin for the first time for the NCAA tournament in March. I looked at several of the tourist guides, e.g., Fodors, Frommers, Trip Advisor, and Open Table and decided we would pick Roaring Fork on our first evening there before the games started. We were glad we did. The location, food, drink, service, and environment were top notch for what we had in mind. This was a great choice.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was wonderful. Wonderful service and food. The Mexican Street Corn is excellent with the grits and bacon wrapped pork tenderloin. Also loved the tuna tar tar appetizer and the yummy mojito type drink made with ginger beer.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMHave to try this place outMy wife and I celebrated our anniversary there and it was a wonderful experience.
