  • "Very nice restaurant for special occasions. Took my parents there for my anniversary. It was awesome. Great view!"

  • "The food, decor, view, service and pricing matched the reviews I had read. It was 5 minutes from the hotel by freeway, so convenient. Definitely want to return here to try other dishes."

  • "Back for brunch for the second time in July! The food is always great and the service was attentive and friendly though our waiter was not that knowledgeable about the food. I had Banana Foster French Toast. Really delicious and just right portion size. Our table also had the Spinach Salad and the Pork with Herb Pancakes. Everyone loved their meals. The ambiance is very nice here. They have a great patio but it was too hot this time of year to sit out. We will be back!"

  • "Decided to look for something different than our regular eateries and found a new favorite. The 5 stars for food, service, and ambience (in mine and my wife's opinion) are spot on. Excellent place for almost every occasion!!!"

  • "I love pork chops. It's one of thier menu marked house specialties. I've ordered it the last 3 times I've been there in the last 90 days. Feedback? It's pre cooked. Waiter said so. It's tough. Need a very sharp knife. It taste aged. Not much flavor. Very disappointing with this menu item. It's way below average and should not be one of the the most expensive items on the menu nor marked as a specialty. To thier credit service is top notch and informed. Mambo acne is great. Drinks are good."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary at The Roaring Fork-Stonelake and had a wonderful evening. We had reservations but had to wait about 10 minutes - the only disappointment of the evening. Our waiters were very knowledgeable about the wine list and the menu. We ordered Fried Avocado and crabmeat appetizers, which were delicious. Our entrees were fantastic (Grilled grouper and cedar plank salmon) and our shared side of the green chile mac and cheese was great, as it always is here. We had mentioned that it was our anniversary and they brought our dessert out with a "Happy Anniversary" message written in caramel sauce on the plate. A great end to a great dining experience."

  • "Great location, friendly Team members, great drinks and food, lovely location."

  • "I especially enjoyed how our waiter was not interrupting our table conversation regularly, but when we needed something it was tended to quickly. Glass was always full without notice. Good experience. The only knock was towards the end of our dinner, around 9:30 pm, it began to get rather hot inside the diner."

  • "My birthday dinner. The avocado appetizer was very good and waitress was great. For Dinner I ordered a filet, medium and hubby ordered grouper special. My steak came rare and manager took it back to cook more. The grouper was very good. My steak came back and was still rare, so it went back to kitchen. By time I had my steak again, hubby was finished with his meal. My steak was medium around edges, so I just ate it until I got to middle and took rest home. I ordered the seasonal veggies side, broccoli onion and bacon mix. The broccoli was undercooked and cold when I finally had my entree. I did receive a nice chocolate torte for my birthday from the restaurant and they did reduce the price of my undercooked steak. Disappointed!"

  • "The view of the lake was very nice. This is a place meant for adults looking to go someplace nice. I came with my kids, and there was no kids menu. Luckily, there were options that worked for them. The service is marvelous. The food was good and the drinks were tasty."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at the roaring fork. There was plenty of room at 8th on a Thursday, and the attention from the waitress and staff was excellent. My wife enjoyed the salmon while I loved the pork tenderloin. Dessert was a chocolate torte. All food was excellent, both in taste and presentation. Service was prompt, polite, and friendly. Highly recommended."

  • "Roaring Fork has a great patio. The food is good, though not remarkable. Servers are friendly and handle families with small children well."

  • "This was my first time at the Roaring Fork, I had heard of it before but never been. Everything was outstanding. We had the fried avocado and crab meat appetizer, which was so delicious. We shared the mixed greens salad, and both ordered steaks. Their steaks are market based, so they change throughout the seasons, I had the bone-in ribeye and my girlfriend had the filet minon. Both of our steaks were cooked perfectly to our liking, and our server was very knowledgeable and helpful pairing our wines. In fact, our server was wonderful all night, good cocktail recommendations, appetizer, wine, and very friendly overall. This has to be my favorite upscale restaurant I've visited in Austin, highly recommend!"

  • "The staff at this restaurant was amazing. And the food absolutely delicious. They even gave my boyfriend and I a dessert on the house to celebrate our anniversary. It was wonderful and we'll definitely have to come back again when we have another occasion to celebrate. The view of the lake made everything very romantic and the lack of loud guests nearby made it so that my boyfriend and I could hold a conversation without having to shout to be heard. Another thing I appreciated was that while our waitress was attentive she wasn't overly so. We enjoyed our meal with a very acceptable amount of checking up."

  • "Unequalled quality and presentation of the food in the Austin area. Fish dishes particularly flavorful and veggies fresh-tasting (I can't speak to the meat dishes but our friends all loved them). Ambience is great, particularly the outdoor section when weather permits. Only problem is when the indoor place is full of people - the noise level can become intolerable due to "cocktail-party effect"."

  • "BOGO special on 4th of July made this a very good value."

  • "Our party of 2 grew to a party of 4 unexpectedly on the 4th of July. We were able to change the reservation. We arrived and were dressed pretty casually and told the staff it would be fine if we ate outside on the patio, if it was covered and in the shade. It was covered and part of the table was in the shade. My husband, who had been battling a cold all week, was the poor one who had the setting sun in his eyes the whole time. We were joined by many flies. I'm sure there must be a solution to the many flies, but I don't know. I mentioned all the flies to our waitress and she said "yea, I know.". The food was great. The drinks were very good. But we weren't going to stay around for dessert and fight off the flies."

  • "Had the 'big-assed burger' and was NOT disappointed. It absolutely lived up to its name! Had to end up using a fork though... which was not a problem. It was perfect. Also had the mexican street corn (which thankfully was OFF the cob!) which was wonderful. Made an already special day (July 4th) even more so!"

  • "Had the best steak in Austin. Loved the fried avocado. Spinach was delicious"

  • "Although the food was really good, it was a little pricy. Not sure if this is to cater to a more upscale crowd? Would only return for special occasions."

  • "I wanted a place where I could make reservations for three for lunch, the Roaring Fork was perfect. My guests were delighted to have exactly what they wanted. We shared a dessert. Although it was very busy, we didn't feel rushed. Service was great."

  • "We had a great brunch here last Sunday. This is definitely a hidden gem. The brunch options were all delicious, and we just left raving about the place. Everything was foodie-friendly and amazingly tasty. The actual building is really cool too, and they have a wood burning oven in the front, and it has an awesome smell, even in the summer!"

  • "This is the best brunch i have had! Great variety of entrees and not so ordinary which i loved. Everything was delicious and service was excellent!"

  • "I love the initial entrance. The host skillfully opens the door to welcome you at just the precise moment for the olfactic seduction of the seasoned wood fired grill. The location is perfectly set on Quarry Lake. The seating was optional for outdoor or indoor. The romantically dim lit setting would be perfect for first dates or set couples alike. The bar was ambient and inviting."

  • "While our waitress was very polite, it was hard for her to be attentive to our table while she also waited on a large (>20 people) wedding party table. We sat with our finished plates in front of us for approx 10 minutes while we watched her cut the cake for the wedding party. Then we watched her start to take drink orders for a birthday party table of about 12 while our bill and credit card sat on the table for another 10 minutes. Finally another waiter came over and asked if he could take care of it for us. Not exactly what we expected from Roaring Fork."

  • "We have a little dining group. Came here this week. Everything was excellent. Will be back soon. The Green Ghili Pork. Try it."

  • "We had a great time, the service was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. The daily fish (grouper) was fantastic, as was the avocado and crab appetizer. The ribeye was a good steak, but probably not on the same level as the rest of the food. Though Roaring Fork is not per se a steakhouse, I expected more out of the steak. We would certainly go back, though likely not for a steak."

  • "I really like the Roaring Fork. They've got a great happy hour with some good deals, and while you cannot take advantage of the happy hour in the main dining room, the food and service makes up for that."

  • "We were in Austin for our son's college graduation. The staff did a great job of making it a special evening for our party of 5. The food and service were wonderful. My only complaint is that it was extremely noisy so it was difficult to carry on a conversation at our table without shouting and also hard to hear what our waiter was saying."

  • "I've been a patron of the downtown and Stonelake locations of Roaring Fork for several years now, and the only time I've ever been disappointed was when I couldn't find parking. The staff is congenial without ever feeling fake. The prices are moderate and food always good quality, nicely prepared. The Stonelake views from the deck are wonderful. It isn't the hippest place to be, nor the food so incredible it'll get written up and the chefs whisked off to L.A. or NYC, but it's always very good. To me Roaring Fork is just plain comfortable... not comfortable like an old pair of jeans, but comfortable like sitting in front of a fire in a lodge at the end of a ski trip drinking a glass of fine wine...in a Jacuzzi...while getting a massage."

  • "This was a first time visit for Father's Day. It was perfect for making Dad feel loved. Friends had referred us to the restaurant and we are glad they did. The entire staff was friendly and the food was delicious. Would defiantly recommend and return."

  • "I went there with my dad and uncle for father's day. We ordered the 8oz black angus steak and 2 salmon steaks. The beef steak was very tender and delicious; I ordered the steak medium cooked -- it was brown on the edges, pink in the middle -- with no burnt areas anywhere on the meat ! Its the best steak I've had in a long time. The salmon tasted great with its spices. The side dishes were also good -- the mixed greens salad and the complementary dessert. Service was friendly and quick. I will definitely go there when I visit Austin again."

  • "I recently dined at Roaring Fork for my mother's birthday getaway. I'm from Dallas so there were high expectations for the restaurants in Austin. Upon arrival the hostess staff was underwhelming but accommodating. We requested outdoor seating and were seated in the corner somewhat secluded but it turned out to be a pretty good table. Our server Josh was awesome and the staff was helpful in suggesting menu options. The food was so yummy! I loved the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin and the green chile Mac. Our server also gave us a dessert on the house to celebrate my mom's birthday (Crème brûlée was awesome) Overall we had a great experience and I would recommend Roaring Fork in the future."

  • "The restaurant is beautiful and offers a good variety of food options with a notable wine and drink menu. Be advised that the noise level is very high, so not appropriate for an intimate dinner or anyone looking for quiet conversation."

  • "We went to Roaring Fork for an early Father's Day celebration. Everything was excellent. I had the beef short ribs, they were tender and flavorful without being fatty. Dad had the trout and daughter and grandson had the Roast Pork. Everything was very tasty and well seasoned. Definately becoming one of our favorite restaurants in Austin."

  • "We arrived promptly for our reservation on Wednesday night at 7:00pm for my husband's birthday. We were rudely told they didn't have a table ready for us and we could wait in the bar and get a drink. We went to the bar there were no seats available, plus I'm pregnant so that's not really a great option anyway. They said they had a table available outside but we had requested to sit inside so we decided to wait. After 30 minutes went by the rude hostess said they still didn't have a spot for us and we could sit outside. Okay well if that's our only option, I'm not going to let the rude service so far ruin my husband's birthday. We sat outside and sweat through our meal, the food was good but my husband's chewy steak was not worth $41."

  • "My spouse and I came here on a friday night around 9. The outside tables seemed to all be filled, but we chose a table indoors, as it was a little too muggy for our tastes that evening. There were only a handful of tables filled inside, so the noise level was low. It's quite dim inside, but you can still see the fine presentation of your food when it arrives at your table. I tried the filet mignon, med. rare, with the asparagus, crab and hollandaise sauce, and it was cooked to perfection. My spouse had the spit-roasted half chicken, also cooked very nicely. Tons of flavor and juicy, it was divine! Overall, a terrific time with great service. We will definitely be back for lunch and to sit out on the patio!"
