RN74 - SeattleTiming of the food was a littleTiming of the food was a little off, but a nice experience. Great server. Portions a little small for the price.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMA Truly Special EveningWe took friends who are moving to California to RN74 for a farewell dinner. Everything the people at the restaurant did that for our dinner was spectacular. The wait staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The food was delicious and creative. The wine was amazing, and we were able to match it with our meal due to the wise advice of the wine specialist at the restaurant.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Blend of Food and WineMy husband and I dined here for a date night and could not have been more impressed. The restaurant manages to be completely upscale in service, food and wine without losing the relaxed feel of ideal Seattle dining. Service was impeccable, drinks kept full by several employees, there was a constant awareness of our needs and dining pace, yet it never felt intrusive or hawkish. We got several recommendations and help pairing a wine with our meal. Go hungry because every course should be sampled and you'll get full. These aren't artsy small plates, they are flavorful and filling and beautifully presented. All the great things you look for in a great meal and a really cool vibe in the ambiance. Its a dining experience every foodie should try.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous! There were 8 of our WILD dinner members that were able to make this reservation. Every person enjoyed the food and the service. We had a fabulous experience and would highly recommend to our friends, family and business associates. The valet parking option is wonderful for a centrally located downtown location. The manager went to extra trouble for us when I left my cell in the car and had to have it retrieved---they were understanding and very friendly about the inconvenience to the parking attendant. They earned the extra tip!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWould recommend to others.Knowledgable, attentive wait staff. Casual, boisterous atmosphere. Extensive wine list / Talented bartenders. Food elegantly presented. Would easily go back again.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely as always!I went to RN74 again yesterday for lunch. Every time I've been there (about 4-5 times now)- the service is responsive and friendly and the food is quite good -it tastes and looks great- the presentation is really impressive. I would expect a swanky place like this to have a stuffiness about it but RN74 has never shown that side when I've visited. Oh yes- and they make a great cocktail as well- Keep up the great work!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMCould Be A Five StarThis is a great restaurant with excellent food, service and an impressive wine list. Use the valet parking or you will find yourself late for your reservation. This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in Seattle and it could be fabulous except for the noise! Shouting is the only way to have a conversation. I just don't get it. TURN THE MUSIC DOWN!!!! It really ruined the place for me. My dish (Beef Bourguignon) was VERY salty but still good. Desserts are too die for. All other food at our table was very good. I would not go back due to the noise level but that may not detour others due to the level of service, great food and interesting wines.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMTrendy, but still awesome! The taste and service attention you'd expect in a stuffy old expensive steakhouse (ala el Gaucho) but younger, more comfortable, more hip and less dark. Definitely a special occasion place as the two of us left with a $300+ check (apps, drinks, entrees, desserts, coffee) but I'll be returning for oyster happy hour! And using this for parties in the future when we've got some extra cash to spend. If you're dining on someone else's dime (i.e. expense dinners) and obvious choice. Loved it!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFood Quality & Interesting MenuMy wife and I wanted to try something new and gave this restaurant a shot. We really enjoyed the tomato fondue and the steak-for-two dinner. Not really romantic setting but we weren't really expecting this. We prefer more fun scenery anyways so this isn't a negative. We thought the menu looked interesting and look forward to going back to try more.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMI met a dear friend thereI met a dear friend there for lunch that I'd not seen in months. I will always view RN 74 as a "reunion" restaurant, as we had a delightful time. Our server was very helpful and cheerful.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of Seattle's Finest...Thoughtful menu, impeccable service - we return time and time again as the menu changes and the "freshness" of the experience never wears thin. Highly recommend!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great dinner experienceWe had a great dinner experience for a work function with our clients. Service and food were wonderful; thank you!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMOMG!! Best Restaurant in Seattle!Wow!
Duck Confit sliders, Salted encrusted Bone in RibEye baked to perfection in a pastry shell, unbelievable wine selection, puff pastries to dip in McCallum 12 pudding for dessert.. I think I've died and gone to heaven!! A definite must if you want to impress someone or just have a GREAT meal and experience.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe halibut was good, notThe halibut was good, not great. A bit on the dry side. Very loud at 9pm dining hour.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent VisitWe were looking for a nice dinner before a formal event. The environment was more on the casual side, but everything we ate was amazing, the cocktails were great, and the service was the best I've had of any Seattle restaurant. The sommelier was really nice and gave us a free tasting of another wine even after we had ordered. I definitely need to go back.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWait staffThe wait staff was super great. Would come back just because of the service. Awesome experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMStill the best!!!We love RN74 and they just updated the menu and their are new amazing items to enjoy! We tied the little tuna potato cakes and loved them!! The staff and the food are top notch which is difficult to find in a lunch scene which is when I usually go. Highly recommend it!!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMEuropean FlairTook advantage of the 'pre-theatre' menu before venturing out to the take in the 'Jersey Boys'. What a great combination! Thank you to the entire staff at RN74 who made our special evening truly memorable. Love the history of this restaurant. The food was excellent and all about the presentation.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a treat to go here! It's hard to find much at fault with this fine restaurant. The food is creative and inspired, the wine list is above and beyond most of the competition and there is a raw energy that exudes as you sit, enjoy and take it all in.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything is goodNo matter what you order, the favors are amazing! Recommend trying thing you've never had before. Our server, Phillip, was fantastic.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat! The service was over the top good, which is why I didn't give the food fives! But in reality, everything was 5's. We are in Seattle part-time and this is the best place so far. I hate to say that because I want to be able to get a reservation next time I'm in town!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this placeExcellent food and great service. The noise level is a real challenge for conversation, but the visual ambiance is great.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst TimersOur first experience at RN74 before the theater. As Eastsiders, we hadn't made it in until this week, but we will be back again (and again). Food and service were impeccable. Atmosphere was a bit noisy for a "romantic" occasion (our anniversary) but that seems to be the norm in restaurants now, so we just accept it! Wine list and servers' knowledge of it were both among the best we have experienced in Seattle. Great evening.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent ExperienceEnjoyed everything about the dinner. The place was very busy but seemed there was a quick turn. The server was very aware of the menu and the specials and gave some very good suggestions. Jessie the manager was good and made sure we pleased.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe total dining experienceThe total dining experience far exceeded our expectations and we would stongly recommend RN 74 to all those who appreciate service, food quality, and atmosphere.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMgemWe loved everything about RN74, great menu, food and amazing staff! Will be back again and again!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMHamburglar! The sliders were amazing!!!! DO NOT MISS THEM! I enjoyed the Tagliatelli, which was also excellent. The cheesecake bites desert was also pretty amazing! The newly added losbter pot pie, although deemed delicious, is not what you would expect in a pot pie. It is more of a lobster broil covered by some breading and cut and dished at the table. Odd. And just not what you expect to get when you order a pot pie. All in all, food was a success. Although, our bill for 4 people (which only included 6 drinks), came to about $400! SO I would definitely say a bit over priced!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food. Was a bit crazyGood food. Was a bit crazy during happy hour, but in a good way. The drinks are creative and tasty. The service was good but as expected for a restaurant of RN74's quality.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Foie Gras sliders!Amazing Foie Gras sliders! Everything was incredible with some subtly complex flavor profiles, and wine pairing recommendation was spot on. Every person that works there was so excited about the food and attentive to us. It was an incredible customer service experience. Thank you!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely awesome food. WaiterAbsolutely awesome food. Waiter was completely negligent until time to tip. We had to ask bus person for bread when our meal came (bread never came pre entree like it was supposed to....). No water refills until the check was presented.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderful food, attentivewonderful food, attentive service, but crowded seating and very noisy. At least the noise makes it hard to hear conversations at adjacent tables.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch is perfect!!Lunch is terrific as they have their great regular options as well as a fresh sheet! Salads are my fave and I have been here 74 times for lunch (they kept count) and still love it because the service and food are always outstanding! Be sure to try and coconut lime sorbet or like ice cream, a must for a perfect finish to your meal!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was really good as usual. It was really good as usual. Nothing outstanding but a fun place to be for an evening.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were quiteFood and service were quite good. Very noisy, however - hard for more than two to hear each other.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was one if the best diningThis was one if the best dining experiences in Seattle. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary s (both couples). The ambience, service, and interesting delicious food was perfect. The staff were very attentive to the fact we were going to an event that required us to be out the door by a specific time. We will be back, THANK YOU!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMRN74 leaves your mouth wateringRN74 was true to its concept of contemporary French. Their wine list is truly remarkable with old world selections and U.S. wine region favorites. We particularly enjoyed the beef bourginon, black cod, and ribeye encased in salt. Dessert was a true work of art - beignets and fried apple pie. The service was outstanding. We will be repeating our visit in the near future.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI would definitely recommendI would definitely recommend RN74. The service was very attentive and the staff was very knowledgeable about the dishes. It was lively but you can still have conversations at your table. I think the portions are a little off. I ordered the bone marrow appetizers and scallops entree. The marrow plate was huge and had three segments and a lot of bread. On the other hand, I only had 3 small scallop with a bit of cauliflower as an entree. However, the flavors and plating was definitely there.
One of my friends got the lobster pot pie served table side. It definitely seems worth if you are looking for a spurge.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat tasting menu with amazingGreat tasting menu with amazing wine pairing ! We had one of the best table of the restaurant. The food was delicious and thw wines too. The service was really personalized ! We spent a great night at the Rn74 !4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAfter listening to all thatAfter listening to all that hype, I was excited. I have to say, the food was very good, but nothing too memorable. Would I go back, yes. It's a good place to try for new comers.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Food, seasonal menusWonderful Food, seasonal menus the service is Superior4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food but much too crowdedFood, wine and service could not be better. Unfortunately, the tables are so small and so crowded together that it feels like you are seated at a communal table, not a high end restaurant. On the long line of bench seat/tables, it is easier to converse with the stranger sitting next to you than yelling across at your dining companion. If that is the intention, great, but that's not my idea of an enjoyable dinner. Unless I could be assured of a table with a little more space to separate us from the next table, I don't think I would return.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMRN74 is a great spot to seeRN74 is a great spot to see and be seen, but thankfully it's also a great restaurant. The food from appetizers to dessert was excellent. My only quibble would be my black cod was almost too delicate, it lacked a certain "edge" that would have made it memorable. However, the accompanying veggies - oyster mushrooms and bok choy - were heavenly! My friend's steak was apparently fabulous, as I didn't hear any real discernable words coming from him the entire time he was eating it. This was a birthday dinner for that friend, his first time to RN74, and he was wowed. It was not my first time, however. And I'll be back again!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasantly surprised by howPleasantly surprised by how fabulous the food was. Great service. Really fun place.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food but a bit priceyThe food was very good. We took advantage of the theater 3 couse dinner which was very good. Our waitress was exceptional. She had a great knowledge of the menu as well as food allergies. We had a little issue with our wine selection. It took awhile for them to realize they were out of our selection. The sommlier was great and comped us a glass of wine while we waited for a different bottle. Overall it was a great experience. Although I would point out if you are hard of hearing this is not your place. It is a little loud. And the wine list is mostly $100 a bottle and up. But I still think it was a very nice dinner before the theater.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Pinot Noir selection,Amazing Pinot Noir selection, particularly Burgundies.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and Extensive Wine ListFood quality was excellent, with good ingredients used that accentuated flavour combinations. Wine selection was extensive, but it took three wines to find the right one - keep in mind that I was preferring French that night, and the list has a high incidence of Washington and Oregon. Service was solicitous and even a bit overboard, but this is better than the opposite. The main attraction was the food for sure.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMI'll be backThe food was awesome, delicious and beautifully presented. We ordered the sliders as an appetizer - just sublime. Our group hadWe loved the train station style wine-list updater. However, the absolute highlight of the night were the desserts. The Creme Brûlée is insane! Presentation of the desserts was incredible. Fun and delicious night out.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMI always go for the wine listI always go for the wine list but the food and service are always great as well.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service. WeGreat food and service. We enjoyed the pre theater menu. Portions are smaller on that menu which we were told before we ordered. Regular prices are high range. The service was very good. The restaurant is a bit noisy, so it's not the best if you are looking for a quiet evening. My only complaint is that many of the tables are very close together.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit toThis was our first visit to RN74 and now we wonder why we waited so long...3/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
