  • "Found this restaurant on the internet, when I needed to meet friends near the Westport Train Station. Excellent choice, excellent menu , excellent service and plan to eat there again."

  • "Great place for neighborhood, and those that would like to travel a bit. Wonderful outside seating and bar scene, great cocktails, also great for families. You can enjoy value or spend more, it is for all depending on what you would like to do for your experience. Ask for Jeff, he is terrific."

  • "My husband and I went to Rizzuto's to celebrate his birthday. Food was barely ok, even though we both chose dishes the waiter recommended - seafood risotto for my husanbd, and angry lobster rigatoni or something similar for me. Neither dish had enough flavor - they were just bland. The chicken wings for a starter were better, but even then, good but not great - good spice but it didn't cover lack of tastiness."

  • "A last minute reservation was handled easily and graciously after our kids' tennis match. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the friendly and attentive service (Ryan). The meatballs, Blue Point oysters and lobster crepes were all delicious appetizers. The papardelle bolognese was a winner, as was the ravioli and mussels. All in all, this place is a winner."

  • "We had a great meal with very good pasta. Service was excellent and atmosphere was friendly, A bit noisy but most good places are. Shows they are busy."

  • "We've been to Rizzutos a number of times over the last few years but this time brought friends who tend to be on the foodie side. It was Saturday night so we made a reservation..smart move cuz it was packed w/ people trying to get in. The bar was hopping too!! We waited just 10 mins for our table. Our waiter was Jason , he's been our waiter before..it's good to see when the waitstaff has been there awhile, suggests that the restaurant treats them well. Jason is attentive, knowledgable & friendly. 3 of us had meals from the specials list..fish that was perfectly prepared and delicious. The fourth meal was the shrimp piccata with gnocchi ..also delicious. Our friends were delighted by the wine list, the menu choices, the dinner and desserts."

  • "We go to Rizzutos 2X/month with our kids, and we always have a wonderful experience (that's the reason why we continue to return!). Our food during our last visit was great - we ordered fried calamari (nice, light batter), the artichoke salad, and my favorite pizza (prosciutto, arugula & Parmesan). The service, however, was horrendous. We were seated in the bar area (something I would NOT recommend), and had an extremely in attentive waiter. Our water was never refilled, and on the infrequent times that our waiter did come to our table, we made him stay so that we could be sure that all of our requests were submitted. We'll definitely return - because we love their food - but we will NOT be seated in the bar area."

  • "I had the red snapper for dinner. The snapper was very good. However, the onion topping accompanied by cauliflower in tomatoe sauce and bland rice cakes did not seem to match up well. I also had my favorite mussel appetizer which was great as usual."

  • "This place has it all but it seems to skew older in the bar area just FYI. The bread is amazing and you're full once the meal comes! Be careful! Delicious wine too. The fireplace in the dining room makes the whole atmosphere cozy. We are regulars."

  • "Another lovely evening at Rizzuto's. Always consistently good all around--food, service, ambiance. Specials are fresh and delicious as are all the standards."

  • "The good-waitstaff very friendly & concerned about our experience. Grilled calamari with potatoes app was good & large enough to be an entree,Swordfish entree with panzanella & sautéed spinach was super fresh & generous, I had to dock a star for the slow bar which made me very cranky."

  • "*This is the firs time I have ever reviewed a restaurant. It was that bad... I decided to take out my fiance to this restaurant for valentines day. We showed up on time for our reservation and waited 15 minutes for our table. Then we were seated in a dim area with families and their kids when it looked as if there were plenty of tables in the nicely lit section. We decided to look past it and we both chose from the prix fixe menu. Below is what I thought of each item... App - mediocre salad Surf and turf - cold potatoes, luke warm filet mignon and inedible salad (stayed under a heat lamp for too long) Desert - chocolate tart was impossible to cut and eat We won't go back again."

  • "I have used your West Hartford location for several corporate functions and earned hundreds of points. I had $178 dollars worth of money on my card and initially it didn't work. The bartender told me the card had no money on it and threw it in the garbage basket. I told him to give it back to me as I was sure I had $ on the card. After the manager checked the card and told me that there was nothing on it I expressed concern that the $ had just gone away. He then returned to tell me that they had discovered that I had the $178 dollars on card. I took my wife to Westport to use the $ I had earned and paid for the bar bill out of pocket. My entire evening should have come off the card. Overall my experience was a C+."

  • "My husband and I dine at Rizzuto's quite often with our 2 sons, and always find the food to be fabulous. On this trip, we ordered the pasta bolognese, and it was fabulous. In the past, service has been so so, but that was not the case during our last visit. Our server, Matt, was excellent. He was knowledgeable and attentive. Overall, we had a very pleasant dining experience."

  • "We went to Rizzuto's on a Friday night with our kids. The wine selection is great. My husband and I shared a salad and pizza and we're very happy. The only negative was our waiter. He was not at all knowledgable, put in the wrong dessert order for my son, and seemed "out of it" overall. My guess is that he won't be working there when we return!"

  • "We came twice in two weeks with two different groups of people. Matt remembered me, my drink order and what my friend had eaten last time. He then took excellent care of us my husband who has celiac disease. The food is always prepared as described which is very satisfying!"

  • "We had a lovely dinner by the fire on a Wednesday evening. Our server was beyond accommodating, he met everyone's needs with a smile and could not have been nicer. The salads are fresh, generous, and have unique twists to them. Pizzas are great as well."

  • "My cousin and his wife were visiting from NC, and wanted to go to a good Italian restaurant, so we chose Rizzuto's. There were 6 of us, and all of us enjoyed our appetizers, meals and dessert...very good! And the service was excellent!"

  • "My husband and I have dined at Rizzuto's several times, and have always enjoyed it. The food is always excellent and the service great. Our waiter, Steve, couldn't have been more accommodating. We will certainly return. My only problem is that the noise level is very high, but it was a Friday evening and there was a band in the bar and a young crowd in attendance. I can't help it if I'm an old fuddy-duddy who prefers to hear my partner when we're conversing."

  • "Picked up a family member at the train, and went to the close-by Rizzutos. Waiter Jeff was friendly and accommodated a slow start to the meal. We selected a variety of choices - garden salad with shrimp -fresh and crisp; a huge portion of spaghetti and meatballs - lucious, with a great italian flavor; a caprese salad with creamy, milky burrata and pappardelle bolognese. We were ver happy -everything disappeared - and the leftover spaghetti founds was featured at an early lunch the next day. I had tried the harvest menu starting with a delicious squash and shrimp soup - flavorful and delicious, but could have been hotter. Monkfish was crispy and well cooked - and a bread pudding dessert was a great ending. Next time - some pizza's!"

  • "Scheduled a reservation prior to attending nearby theater. Arrived late for reservation, yet we were still accommodated. When we arrived, lots of families with young kids. Wait staff attended to everyone's needs, though it was a bit noisy. The crowd seemed to turn over to families with older kids and couples as we were having our dinner. Food excellent, comfort Italian menu with some efforts to update traditional menu with more varied ingredients and combinations. My husband loved his free range chicken and was happy to be able to exchange side vegetables for his favorite, spinach. I ordered a pesto dish with chicken. Pasta was excellent. Attentive service, though the feeling is one of activity and efficiency."

  • "Typical Italian fare but executed to perfection. Bolognese sauce was one of the best ever and the homemade pasta exceptional. Pizza was surprisingly good. The crazy lobster with ziti was spiced well and the lasagna was meat filled and ideal for those with a hardy appetite. The only downside to our experience at Rizzuto's was that the wait staff seemed over taxed resulting in uneven service. Yes there was a full house but that should not be reflected in the service as it affects the overall restaurant experience and consumer opinion. Rizzuto's fare was good enough to give them another try, but there are too many great Italian restaurants in our area to put up with sub-standard service."

  • "Very eager to please. They set up seating arrangement that allowed us to watch sports while the people who had no interest were not inconvenienced."

  • "lovely relaxing afternoon lunch...no rush to give up our table.....attentive service....extensive menu....and bonus of $15 prix fixe lunch (restaurant week) including 3 entrees with first courses to choose from.....we tried them all and they were all very good with generous portions. we would return."

  • "We go to Rizzuto's quite often with the kids and are never disappointed. On this trip, I had the arugula salad and the lasagna. Both were great! The lasagna portion was large enough for 2 (I brought home left-overs and had it a 2nd night!) and included fennel sausage, which was delicious."
