The food is tasty and with a decent variety but leaning heavily on the lunch half of brunch. Missing on the breakfast side were any pastries, bagels, etc. There was an omelet station, quiche, bacon and fresh fruit.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMDate NightI brought my wife to the restaurant for date night. It was an amazing experience from the time the elevator doors open. You walk into the restaurant and I had the wow factor the whole time. The food and service was excellent. I ordered flowers for our table and gave specific instructions with the staff. They did outstanding! My wife was very surprised. The view is amazing. Rivue provided a quiet intimate setting where we could discuss a variety of business topics without intrusion or a concern for privacy. From our greeting by manager David Rankin, to our server April and James who served the bread, all showed-off Louisville's southern hospitality. Chef Brian Riddle is outstanding and Louisville is lucky to have his talents in our community. I HIGHLY recommend Rivue for a fabulous evening of food with spectacular views. The very first thing you hear when you exit the elevator is this wonderful baby grand piano. The views from 25 stories was breathtaking. Food, drinks, ambience, decor and the staff was exceptional. The view also was incredible. Rebecca Dyer was our server and she was wonderful. She was so friendly and hospitable that we will ask for her when we come back. We will be back and will recommend the restaurant to our friends. We had a really lovely and romantic evening. Waitress was disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber...not very helpful with descriptions when choosing food or wine, didn't know history of the hotel very well...efficient enough but seemed rather impatient. The other waitstaff looked very pleasant and this could have been just a bad night for ours. We finally had the opportunity to this past weekend with some friends. The revolving restaurant sounded kind of kitschy but it was actually quite nice. The food was very good and our waiter was very warm and friendly. The actual time from being seated to leaving the restaurant was about 3 and a half hours. A bit too long and we were ready to go by the time they rolled the "complimentary candy cart" our way. The only problem was that we were seated next to a family of 4 with 2 small children who were loud and the parents let them run all around. Not the restaurants fault but the fault of the parents. We were there for a romantic evening and it kind of got ruined by the kids. The parents should have handled their children. We almost didn't go because of that. However, we were visiting Louisville for the first time and decided to go for the experience. We were very glad we did. We both had fish, which was excellent. The wood panelled walls, black granite floor, and the lighted reception hall table support that elegant feel. Piano player in the bar area with white leather seating jsut make it more so. However, the Lobby of the hotel does not have the "feel of an up-scale restaurant". That can be a bit disconcerting if you have never been to Rivue before.
Our dinner was very pleasant and the food was very good. Service was competent but not "professional" - maybe a bit to casual for an up-scale restauant. I don't want it stuffy but professional and attentive would have been appreciated.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
