The Riviera Restaurant and Lounge has been a favorite dining spot of both locals and visitors alike for years. The interior underwent a complete renovation in the Fall of 2012, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere with casual elegance.

The Riviera’s versatile dining room offers an open seating area as well as semi-private and private rooms for any occasion. Our talented chefs turn seasonal ingredients into mouth-watering dishes ranging from tantalizing appetizers, classic pastas, quality prime meats, and the freshest seafood available. Our name is fitting, with a menu that includes a full Mediterranean selection of recipes found throughout the best restaurants in the world.

  • "We enjoyed a quiet romantic dinner with delicious food and excellent service. The Chilean Sea Bass was wonderful and the sauce was so good that we could have licked the plate. The Ahi Tartare appetizer was also delicious but a bit too salty to taste. The chef gladly re-made the dish for us and the second one was wonderful. The Asperagus soup was wonderful and could have consumed a second bowl but did not want to completely spoil the appetite for our entree. The wine list is extensive and we chose the house Pinot Grigio which was excellent. We will return again soon."

  • "We had picked this restaurant because we have been before and the special menu had many DineLA menu alternatives unlike most. Ww have also seen reduced portion size which was clearly not the case here. The meals were all generous and first rate and, to our surprise, we also received a glass of house level wine though we upgraded and paid the difference. Thed West S F Valley has very few really good restaurants. This is one of them."

  • "I hadn't been to Rivera for a year due to poor service. They won me back as a customer! The salads were crisp and fresh. My chicken Piccata had just the perfect amount of lemon with a delicious sauce. The food was excellent. The sides were abundant, and definitely bigger than a lunch portion. The service was exceptional, thanks to Bree. I have a food allergy and she let me know which dishes were my best choices.We will be back!"

  • "We went to Riviera some years ago and it was just OK. This time our reaction was WOW. A good friend, whose taste we rely on, insisted we go there. There were four of us and we each ordered different starters, entrees and desserts. We were all more than pleased and we look forward to returning. We all made our choices from the Restaurant Week menu, which had several excellent items in each category. Each course was good sized and the prices were right for the quality and the quantity. Our waiter was charming and knowledgeable. A wonderful evening was had by all!"

We have been going to Riviera for years and will continue to do so. It fits the bill for whatever you may need - a celebration, a casual meal, a quick bite in the bar. The food is terrific...new small bites like short rib tacos, starters like beet salad and entrees like Chilean sea bass are wonderful. Manager/hostess Bree is simply wonderful.   • "The service here is very nice, Carol treated us well. The duck confit was good (not great), the veal scallopini with tomato was good too (again, not great). The best part of the meal was dessert: cheesecake one of the best we've had. Usually don't rave about dessert, it's not my thing, but here cheesecake was worth the calories."

  • "I used to have lunch meetings here years ago and I always enjoyed the food and service. This lunch was the same. There was one room that was more lively (full and noisier) so we asked for and received a quieter table. I ordered sole. It was presented beautifully, and arrived HOT. It came with mashed potatoes (delicious) and steamed broccoli. Not sure if it was butter, broth, or what, but the broccoli was tasty. "

  • "The minute we walked in the service was great. The hostess who greeted us all the way through to our waitress. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. The beet salad we ordered was good. I ordered the Mussels and had it with gluten free pasta. The pasta was cooked perfectly but most of the mussels had a horrible taste. I do not like to complain so I just ate the pasta and the yummy sauce."

  • "Steak special was tough piece of steak--too expensive for quality! Cooked as ordered but could not chew because it was too tough. Duck dish was ok but also over cooked. Soup was great. No excuse for over cooking since we were first in the restaurant for the evening-- the kitchen was not over rushed. Would not recommend to a friend. Felt the price was not delivered in the quality of the food. Expected better from this group of restaurants. First visit & last."

  • "Would have been nice if there were doors to section off the exceedingly noisy bar area, but since that's where you enter, perhaps fire code would not allow it. Pity, because the dining room would have been comfortable otherwise. The wait staff was attentive and helpful. Disappointing special Mussels appetizer (four mussels for almost $17), wonderful Caesar salad. Bread was microwaved - crumbly and stale inside. Entrees were solid, but underseasoned. Sand dabs had an interesting topping of cranberries, raisins and almonds, but were pan fried with the skins on. Rack of lamb was cooked well, though spice was uninspired. Wonderful complimentary fruit tart (for birthday) and AMAZING tarte tatin - the hit of the evening. Overpriced overall."

We sat in a side room at a corner table - we really enjoy being able to visit with our friends rather than yelling across the table! The service was excellent and the food was great. It's not inexpensive, but not ridiculous. I highly recommend the restaurant!"

  • "When I made my Open Table reservation, I noted that one of my guests was celebrating his 84th birthday. Upon my arrival the maitre d' asked if my boss was the birthday gentleman (yes). After our entrees our bill arrived and was correctly given to me. Yet we hadn't ordered dessert even though we were shown the tray. I searched for our waitress to no avail. Finally I was able to give the bill to a waiter to pass on for me. Our waitress reappeared and said she didn't hear my boss ask for a dessert--which is fair, except I had also asked for 3 plates and 3 forks. When his dessert (tiramisu) arrived, I didn't expect singing, but I did expect at least a candle. There was nothing done to indicate it was a special celebration.. Linda K."

  • "Girls Night Out & craving pasta!!! We went here & thoroughly enjoyed everything. We had a glass of Prosecco to start, a roasted beet with candied walnuts & goat cheese salad, green & white linguini with clam sauce & gelato to finish. Everything was very good. The portions were not large, but we left not the least bit hungry. It was a Saturday night & though we did not stay after dinner, there was live music in the lounge."

  • "I was looking for a new restaurant in my Calabasas neighborhood and discovered Riviera. What a nice surprise. Although a bit loud (which other reviewers described), the food and service were excellent. As an east coast guy, I often complain that I can never find true authentic Italian food like it is made in the NYC area. The veal parmesan (a very large portion easily suitable for two) that I ordered was as good as I've had in California. My fiancé had the filet minion which she loved as well. The service was fantastic -- our server seemed to be around our table every few minutes checking to see if everything was alright. What a gem and only minutes from my home. It's just too bad it took me so long to find it."

  • "We had to wait for 20 min to get a menu After 45 min we wanted to order our food and some red wine The waitress was in a hurry and didnt take the time to help us Waitress put bottle of red wine down on the table and didnt open it At that point we asked for the manager who came and gave us a different waitress. The antipasta plate was terrible no taste and the plate was looking bad The main, roasted duck big chunk off broccoli and big pile mashed potato bad presentation and taste, didnt eat it my husband had lobster ravioli and also that was bad taste and dry and also he did not eat it, we told the waitress to take away our plates/food and asked for the check, The check came and the two main dishes were charged!! Manager didnt do anything"

  • "I enjoyed going back to this local Calabasas restaurant after remodel last year. Really elegant surroundings, quiet, and the perfect place for a special dinner. The choices were varied, with emphasis on seafood. Especially loved the crispy crab cakes as an appetizer. Great fresh bread too. I had the special butterfish, which was tender and rich. Should have skipped dessert, which was an apple tartin, rather mushy and tasteless."
