  • "We were seated and no waiter came to our table for 25 minutes. We had the menu's sitting in front of us, no drinks had been served. After 25 minutes I asked Manager to come and take my order. Manager took my appetizer and drink order. Then a regular waiter came and took our meal order. I asked for the appetizer and drinks to be comp because of the unreasonable delay in getting initial service. Have eaten here 6 times in the past, at different times of the year and never had such poor service. All I can say is the food was great as always so we left full and satisfied, just not with the service. manager apologized. Love the feel of eating on the riverwalk. I think our whole meal should have been comp because of poor service."

  • "We are locals in the DFW area and eat Tex-Mex all of the time. (we've also been to countless spots on the San Antonio riverwalk- which this place is trying to emulate) The food was very very bland. I ordered a chile relleno which was overpowered with way too much bland oaxca cheese and very little sauce. My wife's chicken enchiladas were bland as well. She also said her margarita was very sweet/syrupy. Our kids split chicken quesadillas and they were okay with it- although my 11 year old daughter said, "It's tough to mess up a quesadilla!" LOL We were in town at the hotel spending the 4th of July weekend. We were really hoping to have a "knock-your-socks-off" dinner- and it just didn't hold up. Last time we'll eat here for sure"

  • "Unacceptable !! Paid $310 for my room and $163 dinner tab!! No the service I expected for this amount of money!!"

  • "We recently ate at the Riverwalk Cantina during our stay at the Gaylord Texan with our three young children. We were seated outside on the "Riverwalk". The kids were entertained by watching the fish swim by. Our server Molly was very attentive. The kids menu selection was nice and when our daughter wanted a fish taco for her kid's meal instead of beef, Molly asked the chef and he obliged for no extra charge. The Margaritas are great and made from scratch. We had the chili relleno and the short rib. Both dishes were delicious! We will eat here again!"

  • "My favorite spot for brunch. I like the fact that they had the World Cup game on. Great atmosphere."

  • "I dined here when I attended a conference. Since I only had an hour for lunch and the Gaylord Texan's dine-in food offerings were limited and expensive, I made reservations at the Riverwalk Cantina three hours in advance on Open Table. Numerous conference attendees wished to dine at the restaurant but were forced to wait in line. Even my colleague and I had to wait a few minutes despite our online reservations. Once we were seated, the service was quick. As a vegetarian, I found the menu selection limited. I enjoyed the beans, rice, and guacamole, but the three unflavorful enchiladas that I ordered were submerged in cheddar. I was hungry. However, I didn't finish them due to the daunting amount of cheese."

  • "Eleven of us dined here together. Food was not very good. Not a lot of care taken in making the food taste good, pretty bland."

  • "We had the beef fajitas and a chicken salad, niether one had any falvor to speak of. several tables that odered after us got their meals and were finishing up before out food came out. Way over priced for the quality of the food. I would suggest to anyone staying at the Gaylord to go to one of the other dining options or leave teh resort and go into Grapevine rather than trying this place."

  • "Couldn't get pricing or menu before arrival. Stayed on a weekend so no menu, just buffet, very PRICEY! Here is so you'll know because I didn't until I received my check, $22 for adults & $15 for kids, no specification on age, no discounts for seniors, this was the breakfast buffet. After 10:30 they add the Lunch buffet "Brunch" w/the breakfast buffet. VERY PRICEY NOW, $32, Adults & $20, kids. The waitstaff already knows they're adding 21% gratuity or "service charge" to your ticket so to be honest, they tend to forget about ya, its a buffet & they get 21%!! Really! Never again!!"

  • "Located inside the Gaylord Texan hotel. Fun waterfalls and rivers inside the hotel. You feel like you are outside; but, you are inside in the cool air."

  • "I had reservations for 7:30 p.m. and we were seated right away but the person who took us to our seats was not to enthusiastic it seemed. Once seated, our chips and salsa were brought but we never saw waitress to get out drinks till about 15 minutes later. Take in mind, that tables around us were happily getting refills and drinks while we sat almost forgotten with no server in sight. I would understand if the restaurant was busy but they weren't! The Gaylord Texan is not the cheapest resort/hotel but it is praised as a 4 star resort and I would expect that from all their services including the Riverwalk Cantina. The customer is first, and I didn't experience that 6/17. Chef/Manager need to show face to make sure everything is in order."

  • "Ambience was great, service was good but the offerings were mediocore at best. Had been there numerous times prior to 2012 & it was wonderful so our out of town guests were very disappointed with our Sunday Brunch after I had raved about it. Coffee was awful, everyone mentioned the"funky" taste of the orange juice, bland scrambled eggs & no one would eat the egg/cheese combo in the rolled tortilla. For $30 per head, we expected more of a selection of food and a better quality. We could have gone to IHOP or LaMadeline & received the same service, better food at a much lower price; each of us could have ordered two separate meals & still come out ahead on the deal. Very sad. We ate at 10AM & had to re-feed the bunch at 1. Never again"

  • "Thanks sooo much for accommodating my nephew's graduation celebration. It was wonderful to be seated at a table where all ten of us could enjoy each others conversation! Food was terrific and service impeccable. It was nice to be able to enjoy the food and conversation without feeling rushed! Thanks again we'll be back! "

  • "It's hard to go wrong with a restaurant inside the Gaylord Texan - it's always beautiful inside, and you can count on good service. I was a return guest... and it seems as though the menu has changed. Although it was more budget friendly than I remember, the food wasn't quite as good. My "sizzling shrimp" fajitas didn't sizzle at all. It seemed as though it may have sat for a while before it got to the table. That being said, it was all good food - and still warm - just not what I expected since I've been there before. Maybe they changed owners? I'm not sure. I hadn't been in several years, so there was plenty of time for things to change. "

  • "The beautiful atmosphere of the Gaylord Texan took a turn for the worst when our waiter was noticeably perspiring so much we were praying drops of sweat didn't end up in our food. This unfortunately became the topic of conversation at the table between the guys. I ordered the beef burrito with rice and beans and my food was very good, however my husband was not impressed with his beef fajitas. The kids menu was pretty limited as well as the adult menu. We expected a variety of options on the menu given this restaurant is inside the Gaylord."

  • "It is unfortunate that the menu has changed from a buffet to primarily mexican food. The margarita was very bad with mostly the mix and no tequila. The food was alright but nothing I can't get elsewhere for less money. They need to go back to the buffet format many more choices of food."

  • "My experience at the restaurant was spectacular. Molly was my waitress and she gave us top notch service. It was like she can read everybody's mind at the table. She knew what we needed and when we needed it before we even ask. That the kind of service is priceless and is very rare these days. The food was great and the prices was reasonable. Thanks for making my wife birthday more memorable! "

  • "Very good food and outstanding waiter, Jason. Service was good. Do not think a reservation was needed for although I stated we had one, they attempted to sit us as far away from the water. Why a reservation? I asked the hostess due to reservation could she sit us not in the middle and a small table. She was polite and took care of us. I would think if a person goes to the trouble to reserve, they should get better seating if possible."

  • "We took 7 eleven year old girls for a night at the hotel & had dinner here. They had the perfect table for our group ready on time. Waiter was fabulous, girls loved the mariachi band, & they allowed us to bring a cake. Highly recommend!"

  • "Went here for Easter Brunch. It was about $20 less expensive than the Ballroom Brunch they do (which is amazing and massive), and I found this more low key and just as good for the price and value. The brunch selection was substantial (not as much as the Ballroom), but well worth it. Service was prompt and friendly. We had two little ones (3&1) and the staff was accommodating, there was enough selection to piece a meal out for the little ones. Would do this again."

  • "I believe the Southwestern style Easter brunch that I had this past weekend was amazing. I loved the mountain of king crab and the boiled shrimp was large and plentiful. My daughter ate a lot of food from waffles to mac and cheese. having a kids area was great and all of it being in the Gaylord Texan makes it a fun afternoon. They had a lot of Tex Mex Features such as Guiso de res, enchiladas and Carnitas. I prefer much more spicier dishes so it was not spicy for the different palettes. You could add pico etc. I thought the service was attentive and quick. "

  • "We were very surprised and not in a good way, that 40.00 was automatically added to our all ready over priced meal. Our waiter brought us water during the end of our meal, then never showed up again. We were ok with that, it was a busy day. But then to receive a 40.00 tip added to our bill, we were not happy. Don't be looking for a return visit from us."

  • "I dined on the patio, with a view of koi carp swimming in an artificial river. Yes, the restaurant is situated on a replica of San Antonio's Riverwalk. Fun. The food was divine. Lots of choices. Good gluten free options, including dessert, as long as one skips dipping pretzels into the chocolate fountain. Staff caring and friendly. A treat."

  • "I ordered fish tacos. These are the ingredients which arrived at my table: flour tortilla with lettuce, tomatoes and fish stick quality fish! I have never had such horrible tacos! Taco Bell would have been much better and I wouldn't say Taco Bell is great."
