Riverstone CafeSmall Plates, Not TapasWe went to Riverstone recently for the first time in a while. The "Tapas" isn't really served as such. Instead, the waitress brought the food out as separate courses, waiting for each person to finish that "course" before serving the next plate. Also, several of the dishes were not easily shared, as tapas usually is.
That said, the food was of very good quality, the service amiable and efficient, and the prices a good value. This time there was mushroom risotto, crab mac & cheese, and an incredible creamy garlic soup with crab and fennel. The oysters are always fresh, briny, well-chilled, w/ a beautiful mignonette to accompany them. We always get great service - an attentive staff makes sure you have drinks if you need them. Save room for dessert - I savored a perfect selection of cheesecake cups. My favorites were the raspberry with graham cracker bottom layer and the espresso, garnished with a dark chocolate espresso bean atop. A must try!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mothers' Day BrunchRiverstone has a lovely Sunday brunch. The selection of food is varied and abundant. We recently enjoyed Mother's Day at the Restaurant. Our reservation was handled timely, our server was very pleasant and the set up of the restaurant was spacious. They didn't try to cram too many diners in like many places do for a holiday. Over all the experience was a relaxing one. A group of friends and I went there for brunch on Sunday and it was great! The selection was outstanding, the pastries/fruit were fresh and my made to order omelet hit the spot!

We were told we could not bring a 3rd person because the restaurant was booked solid, for Sunday brunch and our reservation could not be changed from 2 to 3 people. However, when we were dining, about 1/3 of the tables were open. It is a pleasant enough place to look at. The draw for me is the oysters. They are absolutely the best outside of Philadelphia, usually with a great selection. Unique menu, quality food, nicely priced for the upscale atmosphere. You can get a few Tapas without breaking the bank, and then realize you don't need much more food to satisfy your hunger. You don't leave feeling bloated, but your pallette appreciated the evening just the same. Highly recommended. Outdoors is basically on a parking lot, but still counts as outdoor dining. Would be great if they had seating on the side and spruced up a little courtyard. The food was delicious and came out do quickly. Our boys loves their food as well. My wife enjoyed one of the signature Martini while I enjoyed a craft beer. Highly recommend the filet tapas.
