Our reservation through Open Table was so early (4:30 pm) that I called the restaurant to change it to 5:30 pm, which is still early. My lamb dinner was served with two different and less complementary side dishes than what was on the menu and the wait staff did not inform me of the substitution. I had to ask why the dinner was so different from what the menu listed. For the high price they charge this was not acceptable. Overall the food was good, but not great. We will not eat here again.

Surprisingly, the piano music from the bar does not reach the dining room.
The food was a solid B (at A prices). You can't beat the convenience of the location if you're going to the Kennedy Center.

Rivers is good, not great. If there were other reasonably priced options near the Kennedy Center, I would try them. But, since I was dining with someone performing at the Center and time was, therefore, limited, this was the only dining option (other than the cafeteria at the Center - good but wanted wait service - or Roof Terrace - way overpriced!!).

The food and service at this restaurant near the Kennedy Center is very good and consistent. However, they very much need to repaint, replace carpet and curtains, etc. Dining area looks worn and near the reception desk there a big blue cable is hanging from the ceiling. The look of the room does not match the quality of the food and service.

This restaurant is a perfect choice for dining before a 7:30 show at the Kennedy Center. Parking convenient and easy. The food was tasty and well-made but not memorable and the ambiance was mundane. The cost for value was a bit high (entree ranges from mid 20s to mid 30s). However, the food arrived quickly and we made the show in plenty of time.
