Diner Reviews
  • "I told them it was a special occasion and they could not have taken better care of us. The food was delicious, the service was great."

  • "After loving Colicchio's brilliant Craft restaurant, my wife and I were eager to try Riverpark with it's heralded views and Colicchio's impeccable signature touch and it all exceeded our expectations. The views of the East River are awesome, whether it's day or night (we got to see both) and every dish was an experience in and of itself. With just the right touch, the fish, lamb, vegetables, and meat all shine on their own natural merits and nothing is over prepared in presentation or taste--a balancing act that is far more complex than it seems. Additionally, the staff is impeccable and there wasn't a need we had throughout the entire night. I can't recommend the restaurant enough. Go and Enjoy!"

  • "We really enjoyed our selection of different appetizers especially the quail was excellent. The main entree Steak for 2 was cooked perfectly. We especially want to thank the head chef Louis for all his efforts. He was very innovative with his creations and we look forward to our next visit."

  • "I had lunch witha friend on a day that finally felt like Spring. We were seated at the window. The view was spectacular. The food and service were wonderful. I would recommend to others and return ."

  • "As usual Riverpark offered a really superb dining experience. In particular, I would like to mention that Alexandra Karpovich is an enormous asset. She is highly professional with a most delightful personality and her greeting upon entry is the perfect beginning to a lovely dining experience. Alice T. Pianfetti, Ph.D."

  • "Beautiful restaurant with exceptional service and the food was delicious. The menu is fun and different From the genius who gave NY The Gramercy Tavern......another gem. I can not wait for better weather to experience the out door scene. Well worth the "out of the way" element."

  • "What we loved about this place was that even though every table was occupied, it was not too loud. My parents could even hear everything my sister and I said!"

  • "R/My friend and I were to meet at Riverpark and at the last minute she could not meet me. I decided to treat myself and go anyway. I was greet warmly and given a table by the window with a wonderful view. The food was excellent and the service was spot on - not too much and not too little. I highly recommend this for a great lunch place and plan to go in the evening to see what they offer."

  • "I'm a huge fan of Craft and Colicchio & Sons, so I thought I would love Riverpark. Unfortunately, I was a bit underwhelmed. The food was good, but rather unmemorable - like an ok hotel meal. It was winter, so we couldn't dine outside. Also, the service was just mediocre. They were too eager to clean our table, too eager to take away dishes before everyone had finished their meal, etc. Overall, our group of six had the service and food we would have expected of a Marriott or Hilton restaurant - but not a Tom Colicchio one."

  • "What a perfect place to celebrate our 10 year anniversary! One of our favorite restaurant in NYC… The food was exquisite as always. Even the bread and butter is better than any place in NYC. If you have not yet been you are missing out big time!"

  • "This restaurant was good, but it has the potential to be spectacular. Couldn't have better sight lines, even if looking into the elegant restaurant. Service was attentive, well spirited and educated. The wine list was ample and accommodates any budget. The food, TO MY TASTE did not knock it out of the park, (my fellow diners spoke highly without raving...though it might have been in deference to my feelings for the "out of the blue" recommendation. Unfair to compare to remarkable sister restaurant CRAFT, Sampled appetizers tasted fine. I love duck and enjoyed the duck as a main. Beignets a disappointment. Comfortable ambience that permits conversational tone. eft full and satisfied but I was hoping for a little more and will return."

  • "The food was good. Asked for wine suggestion . Two glasses of wine were charged $25 each totalling $50. The manager quickly took off $25. This spoiled our restaurant experience during restaurant week. BEWARE."

  • "A little bit out of the way but I had guests from Germany who are vegetarian and from NY who are not and all were very pleased with the food and staff treatment..."

  • "No prix fix brunch, everything a la carte, no drink included, the price for what you are getting is through the roof - OK, a salad, a burger, 2 Bloody Marys, 1 apple tart = close to $100. Maybe somebody can afford to eat like that but not me. Water Club right down the block - yes equally expensive but prettier and better food."

  • "We were in the city to celebrate a special occasion with our daughter and she selected Riverpark. We were delighted with everything about the restaurant and we will definitely go back. We would love to go in the summer to enjoy the outdoor dining and the fresh produce from their gardens. Can't wait!"

  • "Some dishes are better than others, but in general this is a lovely place. The nearby building has been completed, so the billboards with the info on noted scientists are gone but so, alas, are the vegetables growing in tubs. I understand there's a greenhouse somewhere now. Appetizers were excellent. The prime rib for two is one of the least attractive presentations I have ever seen--made worse (perhaps better?) by the atrociously low lighting. The steak could have used some seasoning as both of the offered sauces (bordelaise and chimichurri) were pretty non-descript."

  • "I had heard many a great thing about this restaurant, which unfortunately could have set it up for disappointment. It did not. The food was immaculate, the wine list was great, and our choice, one of the lower end bottles, was still delicious. Would recommend to anyone, and i look forward to being back in nicer weather when the outdoor seating is available."

  • "Riverpark was great. Even though it was a Monday and not too busy the staff was very attentive and the wine, food, and service were all outstanding! Way out on the east side but worth the trip!"

  • "Tucked back behind Bellevue Hospital, this is the perfect brunch spot in Kip's Bay. Great staff, nice view, upscale ambience -- yet very affordable prices considering all of this! (We've not yet been for dinner, which is more expensive.) The food is very good, especially the brunch starters -- I could eat the fried cheese grits every day. Among the spread of brunch entrees, the waffles -- which are encrusted with pepper -- are absolutely divine (and served with the fried chicken, which is serviceable). We've gone a couple of times with larger groups, and they've been very accommodating. Love this place!"

  • "like being able to drive and park there for free with validation. Great space/high ceilings, cool lights, noise not too bad and it was packed. Service was outstanding. Highlights were the branzino, pasta with pumpkin and squash, and artichokes au gratin. Low points were the dishes made with cocoa. the pasta had almost no pork and bitter, the duck oddly spicy/chalky. Beignets tasteless, sorbets excellent. great wine list about 30 pages with affordable options."

  • "La carte est plutôt brouillon pas de prix. Pas le choix de prendre qu un seul plat ...assez cher et surtout la nourriture était très salée ...bref pour un séjour touristique à deconseillé!"

  • "I went to Riverpark after a friend went and gave it a stellar recommendation. The fact that it was Restaurant Week and the restaurant offered reduced prices was an added plus. The dining room is simply stunning. And the staff could not have been more gracious and attentive. While the food was good, it was the display of the food that was exceptional. Colorfully and artfully arranged, it almost seemed a sin to eat it. But eat it we did and enjoy it we did. Finding the place was a challenge -- I actully went to a competitive restaurant that is situated directly on the river -- so be careful if you should go. Just go to 1st Ave and 29th Street (near Bellevue Hospital), turn right and head to the river. It is well worth the trip."

  • "The ambience is very quiet even when crowded - for lunch anyway. The service is top notch and the food was fantastic. Another great Colicchio restaurant. The space is kind of masculine, with leather and wood, but also light and airy with huge windows on the East River."

  • "A group of co-workers and I come here for lunch every time restaurant week rolls around. We were hooked the first time and continue to receive the same high level of service and amazing food every time we return. This time the kitchen even added a special touch to my dessert in honor of my birthday. You won't regret coming here."

  • "Went there for restaurant week and my tab (just for myself) was $120 including tip and tax. The food was really good, especially the squid ink pasta and so was the wine ($22 a glass). I can't imagine what my bill would be if it weren't restaurant week. There are plenty of really good restaurants in NYC with good wines that won't hurt your wallet as much."

  • "My husband & I celebrated our 25th anniversary at Riverpark during Restaurant Week. The hostess acknowledged our special occasion right when we gave our names and we were seated w/a wonderful view of the East River. Our waiter, Aaron, turned out to be the same server we had when we dined back in January, & he remembered us giving us that wonderful feeling that we've become regulars :-) The baby Octopus (tumbled to tenderize) has been delicious both times we had it. Pumpkin pasta w/homemade ricotta was mouthwatering. For entrees we had Peking Duck as suggested by our friends - YUM- & Monkfish which was good but my husband preferred the Pork Chop which he had had before which was out of this world. Meyer Lemon Tart w/Meringue & free parking"

  • "Not really much to say. Left very underwhelmed. Service wasn't bad, nothing memorable. Apps were ok, kinda bland. My entree was terrible, had the beef short rib and was pure fat. I took 3 bites and didn't touch the rest. Boyfriend had the rabbit, ate it, but more out of hunger than enjoyment. Dessert however, was fantastic and we're glad we ordered it. Won't be returning...but didn't feel the need to complain either. Just, underwhelmed by the whole experience."

  • "Great restaurant. HOWEVER we booked thinking we would be able to pay the restaurant week price of 38$ for 3 courses, but found out once we were at our table that it didn't apply on Saturday night. We overheard various other tables come to the same realization once they were sitting down. I think an honorable restaurant like this would have either 1. made it explicit on the menu or when reserving during restaurant week 2. made note of it when calling the customer to confirm the reservation. I don't think this is a restaurant that is struggling for customers. It wouldn't hurt them to be transparent and remind customers out of courtesy that the restaurant week prices don't apply on Saturday night. It came off as deceitful."

  • "Riverpark does Restaurant Week justice by offering arguably one of the best menus during this event. Although there used to be no supplemental charges for some of their more "pricier" items, it is understandable in today's economy in order to maintain the business. Nonetheless, the food here continues to be excellent. Have not had any disappointments here to date 3 years running! We only wished they didn't scale back on the beignets - I seem to recall there being more and larger portions of the sinfully delicious dessert."

  • "This was my first time at Riverpark but I don't think it will be my last. I was motivated to go because of Restaurant Week, and this establishment did not disappoint. The choices for each course were varied. The service - from the manager, to the server, to the buser were exceptional. I am sure during great weather it is a spectacular place to eat outside."

  • "A recent lunch at Riverpark hit the mark. The poached pear and arctic char salads, the pork loin entree, and the tart tatin dessert could not be surpassed by any Michelin 3 star restaurant. The Merluza entree was good but a bit bland. Stick with the pork loin. On a previous visit, we had the pasta dishes which I would not enthusiastically recommend. They were a bit heavy. We will be back as soon as possible."

  • "Can't complain about anything really, service was great very attentive to the customers, food came out quick and efficient. Nice scene of the east river would be nice in the summer/spring time and it sure was a good idea to offer their a la carte menu as a restaurant week menu as well."

  • "Hands down, the best mushroom soup I've ever had...two years running. Stunning rabbit dish. The whole fish is superb. Both desserts were as amazing as the two courses before. Bravo! An excellent place which is as good as it claims to be, Can't wait to return.,"
