RiverparkNice Place outside with riverNice Place outside with river view and view over Queens. . Little Bit noisy because of the street nearby. Unfortunatelly we had to wait very long for our main dish. But the food was excellent and the price of food was more than ok. We would definitely go there again.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMUnexpected, delightful experience!
Unexpected,delightful experience!
Wonderful variety of seafood beautifully prepared and tastefully presented!
We will definitely return!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMhidden gem plus free parkingi picked riverpark for a ladies night out. my friends drove down from the upper west side, and loved the free parking...but it was really hard to find.
the food was delicious, and the service excellent. i have two complaints:
- the broth with the octopus was a little too salty.
- and they don't have enough vegetarian dishes (only one pasta, and not one main course). for a restaurant that boasts that they grow their own vegetables (and they were fresh and delicious!), almost every dish had either seafood or meat in it. a few vegetarian dishes would make the menu complete.
overall, wonderful!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food, Amazing ViewAbsolutely loved this place. Farm to table and you can see the veggies growing. The waitstaff and bartender could not have been nicer. The hostess however was a little curt and rude, and frankly seemed annoyed to have to be there.
The food was awesome and its worth the wait to sit outside for the view!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food in a very pleasantExcellent food in a very pleasant space. Love the parking situation a great plus in NYC6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food with a nice viewThe food is tastefully prepared and the menu choices, while limited, are interesting and suitable for all seasons.. The staff is attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. This was my second time in this restaurant and I plan to return in the future.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall all went well. I justOverall all went well. I just didn't feel a personal touch.
I mentioned on the reservation that it was my anniversary and no one comment anything.
It is a beautiful place but you feel empty since there is no much life from the servers6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways amazes, never disappointsAlthough I no longer work in the area, I made the point of celebrating my birthday at Riverpark. I love the fact that you can order the pastas as either an appetizer or an entree. My husband ordered an oxtail pasta (delicious!) as his appetizer and I ordered a squid and seafood pasta as my entree (also delicious!). This dish turned out to be a squid ink pasta and I love squid ink so that was a very lovely surprise. I always love how Riverpark takes classic ideas but puts a slight twist on them so the dish is both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. The food and the service never disappoint, which is why I keep coming back.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMRiver's EdgeGreat East River views. Visited for brunch. The smoked trout cake was a standout. At least on our Saturday, the restaurant was uncrowded and calm. Very relaxing with a casual vibe to go with great food.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMSurprised at BrunchBeen here before for dinner, but I think I liked brunch better! Maybe because we ate like pigs? My favorite thing was the smoky pork belly OMG! The chilaquiles were good as well as the smoked trout. Didn't love the potato rosti but it was done well. Enjoyed the chocolate mousse dessert with chai gelato but an espresso gelato would have worked too!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely surprise on the East RiverWe finally visited after reading the review a year ago and recommending to local friends. They manage to make an over the highway setting quite lovely and focused on the East River (at it's best this early summer evening). The ambiance is a bit corporate before dark when the lighting then softens the room. The tables and tableware are also not quite upscale. But the food was terrific, even if a bit below Gramercy Tavern, and the wine list very good and reasonably priced especially for NYC. And the easy parking right below in the garage (which they validate for), contributed to the overall sense of escape from the busy day.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMmagnificentthe only issue was mother nature.it rained heavily and we would have liked to see a beautiful sunset.it was my 35th anniversary at work and my whole family was quite impressed.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful for Anniversary DinnerRiverpark was quite the lucky find! This amazing, out of the way restaurant satisfied on every level. My girlfriend and I were celebrating our first year together, and we wanted to make it special. It was. I had swordfish, while my girlfriend had the sirloin and brisket. Both were cooked to perfection and served beautifully. We shared a Gamay and a Sour (I ordered my wine before I had decided on the fish!). Both were excellent, and the apricot-ginger sorbet we split for dessert was incredible as well. The staff did a good job of making rounds to notice when we were low on water or needed any kind of service, but we never felt pestered. They were subtle but efficient. A bit pricey, but worth it. We plan to return ASAP.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find!Found this restaurant by googling brunch locations. Beautiful outdoor seating with a great view of the river. Delicious food and varied menu. Would definitely recommend!!5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Food, Amazing ViewFine dining on the Riverfront! The service was wonderful, and the decor beautiful. The riverfront dining is lovely. Don't be put off by medical industry setting (restaurant is located by NYU Medical Center, and surrounded by med tech companies).5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic view and fresh foodThe hostess gave us the best table in the house - a corner wall to ceiling window view of the east river. The food was delicious and served promptly. The ambience was perfect for our anniversary celebration. The wait staff was attentive without lurking. As a special touch our waiter wrote "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate on our dessert plate. The reason I only gave the service 4 stars was because our waiter didn't give us more information about the restaurant's wine options that were unfamiliar to us, or find someone who could. He did offer us a taste of one of the 3 bottles we were deciding on, which we liked and proceeded to order. That being said we will definitely go back and also tell our friends about this wonderful restaurant.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThank youWe had a delightful dinner under the stars. Food was very good, the view excellent. Service was helpful and prompt.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA GEM OF A RESTAURANTFrom the minute we walked in to this lovely place it was such a positive feel. Everything was perfect...food.. service..and ambience! Each and every employee that we came in contact with was extremely pleasant and aimed to please..and they did, resulting in a wonderful dining experience. Food was absolutely delicious. looking forward to returning to this gem !!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely restaurantThis restaurant is in such a nice location with tables that give river views; it was raining so we could not judge the outside seating. Service was not as attentive as would have liked, but the water boy was very attentive to his job.. I had the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp that another reviewer raved over, but mine were nothing to rave over and I am a shrimp lover. The mushroom consommé had a good taste, but not special enough for me to order it again. My husband enjoyed his swordfish. I love the setting and the dining room and would go back to give it another try. We liked the list of wines by the glass; the Riesling was my favorite, and we like that you can order a half a glass and try several, or to get a little more to finish out the meal.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWill be back...Had to rush dinner a bit to make a movie, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it immensely. Particularly impressive was not just the location (as the great view was expected) but the overall ambiance and tastefully trendy decor. The outdoor area was ample (though I ate inside) and worth coming back to enjoy on a warm summer evening. Menu was a great size & the chicken I had mouthwateringly delicious.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWow, this is the same Riverpark?I have been to Riverpark more times than I can recall. I can definitively say that this visit was amazing! The new menu celebrates spring with an abundance of perfectly prepared vegetables. The rabbit was the best I have ever had (that includes an amazing meal I had in Provence and a rabbit dish at Per Se). The asparagus soup was delicious, my dining partners dishes were simarilarly excellent.
Our waiter and the wait staff was incredible, which was previously the only hesitation we had whenever we thought of going either for a work outing or personal. Our waiter, who was relatively new, was attentive w/out being intrusive and everything was perfectly paced. Previously, service & kitchen would be too slow and waiters would disappear.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a special lunchI arranged a special reunion lunch for a few colleagues. They and I were impressed with the restaurant, the view (we sat outside), the menu, the food, and the service. the only downside was that the service was so good and accommodating that we talked without interruption for so long that one of my colleagues was late for an appointment. so i would recommend letting the waitstaff know if you have a time limit.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMRiverPark...eleganceVery cool and elegant dining. Smooth appearance. tasty fare.....5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMNice business lunchRecommended for a great foodie business lunch. Clients will be happy. Hard not to. Good prices too.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden GemThis restaurant is wonderful and it's my second time going. It's perfect for a special occasion although I've seen people eating at the bar (would like to try that another time).
With the weather warming up the outdoor dining is open which is lovely. Food is consistently good and service is great too.
Can't say anything bad about this place.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMRiverpark never disappointsRiverpark never disappoints. I had a lovely dinner with a dear friend who had never been there. It was a magical evening, with attentive but not intrusive service, and delicious food and wine.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMIt may be hard to find (especiallyIt may be hard to find (especially for cab drivers) but is worth the effort. Wonderful food and service and a nice wine list. Very petty contemporary restaurant. Lovely water view but some may find the proximity to the FDR Drive a problem (we did not). Great pasta, shrimp with bacon and swordfish dishes. Will definitely go back.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a beautiful eveningAlways a beautiful evening - food is great, service is warm and efficient and not pretentious. Have been many times and it's always reliable.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMEat HereBeautiful dining room. Creative cocktails. Raw oysters, sweetbreads, octopus, panna cotta, consommé, rabbit, swordfish all delicious. Dessert too. I rarely go back to the same place twice, but if someone suggested Riverpark again I wouldn't be opposed to the notion. Maybe next time we'll sit out on the patio.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFine Food & a Lovely ViewUsually & truly not given to using superlatives, I feel compelled to write the following: The Red Currant Royale was perfectly chilled and, surprisingly, the currants tasted delicious. My guests enjoyed a Sazerac Old Fashioned and several glasses of Gamay. The Crispy Sweetbreads served with asparagus & poached hen egg was nothing short of amazing & just when I thought this dish could not be surpassed, I was further impressed by the Bacon-wrapped Prawns. A seafood lover, I have never tasted such delicious shrimp! My friends remarked that the Fazio Farm Rabbit and the Beef Sirloin and Brisket met their usual high standards. The presentation of each dish was worthy of a photographer's attention and the service was respectfully attentive.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch on May 3As usual everything was very nice BUT I was dismayed by some of the customers' inappropriate attire. A group of about 10 people arrived at the same time we did. We were shocked to see them were dressed in sloppy jeans with shirts hanging outside and sneakers.. I understand that strict dress codes are, in most places, a thing of the past BUT in a restaurant such as River Park, I do not excpect to see people attired in clothihg that looks as though the wearers had rolled out of bed and grabbed the first, and most comfortable, thing they could find. There should be SOME kind of expectation on the part of the restaurant that its guests arrive looking as though they belong in a refined dining atmosphere. Alice T. Pianfetti, Ph.D.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLate-ish for a weeknight (8:15Late-ish for a weeknight (8:15 reservation), there were only a few people in the restaurant besides us. The service was very attentive. We were really glad we decided to share a pasta course, as that was one of the best things we had (the begoli pasta). Salad was also quite nice. The swordfish entree was good, but a bit dense. Lamb entree was excellent. The waiter was helpful with wine choices.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMSunny sky, outdoor setting,Sunny sky, outdoor setting, very good food and
caring service. What more could we want?
Oh yes, a view that does not have to see the
unexciting Queens waterside.
Even still a very pleasant lunch experience.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experience againThis was my second trip (and it is a trip to get to Riverpark). It's worth the effort for the serene ambience and lovely river views. The food is excellent and the service friendly and very helpful. The last time our only complaint was that the food came too quickly and we felt rushed by the kitchen when we were looking for a relaxed evening. This time the service was on the slow side (we were at the table for 3 hours) but we were happy with the pace. Our waiter was extraordinarily helpful and we asked him to pair wine with our food. I highly recommend this place for a quiet comfortable evening of excellent food and wine at reasonable prices. It's off the beaten track but they will get a cab for you when you are ready to leave.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMA deal for lunchThe menu for lunch is varied and you can either choose the two or three course Prix fix. I had the Hanger Steak which was done perfectly . My husband and I shared the "to die for" french fries. One of the other things I like is that you can get a half portion of many wines by the glass if you want to celebrate but only want a small amount.
The service is as outstanding as for dinner and the restaurant is accommodating to individual needs. Try this place, especially if you drive to the location as there is a parking garage in the building and the parking is validated by the restaurant. This was our third time here and we will be back.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGo!The food was so delicious, seasonal, and fresh. During the meal, I was able to taste the spring pea panna cotta, grilled sardines, grilled chicken entree, banana cake, semifreddo, and house-made ice creams and all were AMAZING! We originally thought we'd sit outside, but seemed like it might be too cool so we opted for in. But it's just as lovely sitting by the water inside. Service was great - really attentive - and, as we'd told them we were there to celebrate my mother-in-law's 70th birthday, the server wished her happy birthday as they seated us and the kitchen sent her dessert out with a single candle and beautifully written message on her dessert plate at the end of the meal. Definitely recommended for a special dinner.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was on point. The service was on point. We were never rushed and the timing between drinks and entrees coming out gave time for conversation, but not enough for you to wonder what happened to your food. The chicken and waffles was certainly not the best I have had, but their other dishes are more popular for brunch. The drinks were great.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food here is fabulousThe food here is fabulous and the service was perfect. It is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA glowing coal amidst the embersI was pleasantly surprised by Riverview. There is not a lot of exciting restaurants for foodies in the Kips Bay area of Manhattan. We were seated by the window and the view of the East River was great. The wait staff was attentive and the sommelier was knowledgeable. The soup was outstanding as was a couple of pasta dishes we tried. The bar was a little dead at 6:30pm, but then again, it was early.
I would recommend the Riverview for both couples and tourists who want a view the city while they eat. The bill including champagne, dessert and apéritif was a little over $200. Not bad for New York.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways lovely, serene settingAlways lovely, serene setting and very satisfying lunch.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a wonderful lunch at theHad a wonderful lunch at the most reasonable price. The menu was very interesting, the perch absolutely delicious, with a crispy outside and succulent and fresh inside. the position on the river is stunning and to have free parking right there is a mga bonus. Can't wait to go back.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMRiverpark shines! Food andRiverpark shines! Food and service were amazing! The porkchop entree was a knock out! This restaurant is in a weird location, but definitely worth a trip.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMRiver Park was perfect forRiver Park was perfect for a business lunch. Beautiful, scenic, really good food, and great service. Nice spot to impress guests or a date.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodTook my wife there for our anniversary and it was the perfect atmosphere with great food and service.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is excellent but theFood is excellent but the staff rushed us and did not space out our dishes arriving to the table well at all.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA DestinationThis is becoming a regular spot in my "dining rotation"; destination dining in Kip's Bay!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA Destination In It's Own RightRiverpark is a true urban oasis; there ain't a heck of a lot to choose from in this neighborhood, but Riverpark would still be great in any part of town. Things get "cheffier" at dinner, and I was impressed by the techniques & style on display. Service, while competent, is not quite up to the level of the cuisine. I would visit the lovely Alexandria Center (RP's home) for the view and architecture on it's own; this is among my favorite dining rooms in the city.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything fantastic exceptEverything fantastic except for portions were ridiculously small! The calamari needed a magnifier to locate!4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service is incredibleThe service is incredible here. Everyone is friendly and responsive. The great service alone makes me want to come back, but on top of the service the food is fantastic! Beautiful view of the river as you dine. I would recommend the grits, the doughnuts, and the bananas, but truly it would be hard to go wrong considering the variety and quality of food. Will definitely be returning and would recommend highly to everyone.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I have dined atMy wife and I have dined at Riverpark nearly a dozen times, twice for brunch. Our earlier brunch was the only time we were disappointed, and now our second brunch was a mixed bag. My food was terrific. My wife's was less so. We remain enthusiastic about Riverpark -- the food, the decor, the view, the service -- and someday we'll probably give brunch a third try. It's an excellent restaurant most of the time.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
