  • "The setting of Hudson Harbor community is beautiful; well done! The restaurant decor is rustic but well appointed. The food was delicious, good presentation, interesting; love the farm to table. The portions were a bit small. The service was more than friendly and willing. They just seemed under staffed, so it was slow. It was a beautiful, sunny day; we were happy to sit outside especially after the winter we have had. After lunch, we shopped in their tiny market and bought locally grown lamb, veggies, and potted lettuces. Love that!"

  • "This place is fantastic. People outside on the patio. People eating Easter Dinner inside. The wine list is great. We had scallops; delicious. The steak was perfect, and the Easter Special rack of lamb could not have been better. Erik's service was prompt, professional and not interfering. If you haven't been, you must check it out!"

  • " The menu was wonderful. There was such a large choice of delicious sounding food. Our Burrata salad was so fresh. My tuna was cooked perfectly and my husband loved his hangar steak. The problem I had was with the noise and the service. The waitress seemed to be rushing us. You couldn't ask about anything, because she couldn't hear us. As soon as you mentioned something to ask more about, she was writing it down. There was no description of anything from the menu, from the waitress. The young man that was bussing tables, couldn't wait to clear our spot between courses. The noise level was so loud that we had to yell to hear each other, and we are not hard of hearing! We would love to return and sit outside. "

  • "Casual or semi-dressy goes. Plenty of free (off-road) parking. There were children there at lunch time, but if you're looking for grilled cheese or chicken fingers for them, this may not be the place. But if you ask I bet they would make you anything you need. Wait staff attentive. Food excellent, especially the presentation. Loved the Composed Salad off the lunch menu, and the Veggie burger which was quite different, yet delicious. The Warm Apple Skillet Pie with a cappuccino--perfect ending to a great meal. We can't wait to go back again. "

  • "Dined at Rivermarket last night I do not feel I can accurately capture the artistry of the food with common prose. Nor can I capture the elegant and efficient service with a group of sentences. I am certain it is impossible to detail the visual and warm experience with random thoughts put on paper. Instead I have chosen haiku since it is based upon nature as is Rivermarket. Blue shelled mussels fresh Waitstaff quietly moving  Lobster broth steaming River with moon light Hearth baked bread on a white plate Your eyes are smiling Wildflowers barn wood Fragrant wine swirls in goblet The earth is in here Local food greens grains Old Belgian doors with stories Saffron petal floats "

  • "Have been several times. Usually sit at the bar, which is huge and inviting. Favorite dishes - beef carpaccio, gnocchi bolognese. Also went for brunch, had delicious lobster tail with poached eggs. Good bloody Mary's. Can get loud and don't always love their music selection. Setting is nice with view of Tappan Zee. Have not sat outside and while set back from water, bridge is in view, as is the parking lot. Restaurant is attractive, with a good buzz. I'm all for mood lighting but I find it a bit dark inside."

  • "Really enjoyed this place, great bar interesting menu and attentive knowledgeable staff. It was a quiet Monday evening so I can't truly know how the noise level is but the room is smart with a very open feel. We all enjoyed our meals and drinks, my only not so positive comment would be about the Calamari app., not what I was expecting.. too much like a confusing salad thought I was getting simple grilled Calamari, but everything else was perfect."

  • "I love coming here. The bar is great and so are the bartenders. I have to say the wait staff has a lot to learn though because they really are not great. But Glenn and the whole atmosphere makes up for it. I will continue to be a loyal patron. Our food was ok the other night. The pork was a bit fattier than usual but I still enjoyed the food."

  • "Overall, this was an enjoyable restaurant experience. Our waiter, Robert, was an absolute delight. The food was iffy. Some of the dishes were excellent, especially the trout, but others were not up to par or overcooked. The foie gras appetizer was overpriced and bitter. One of the entrees ordered was pork cooked two ways. The pork belly was delicious, but the loin was a bit tough. We will definitely return with the hope that our food choices will all be memorably good."

  • "The atmosphere is nice, a little too dark, too noisy but well decorated. They were understaffed, and the kitchen was having some problems. The first dish they brought was the wrong one and the replacement was COLD, not even cooked (ricotta gnudi). This was taken care of and the food was good- seasoning creative and excellent. The dessert (apple pie) was also too cool- dish was hot but the pastry was not. Coffee was mediocre. My husband, however, had an excellent steak and cheese plate. Wish they had non alcoholic salad dressing options. The roasted vegetable side with the steak was outstanding. Where are the donuts my friend raved about?"

  • "If you are into healthy, freshly picked organic foods, then this is the restaurant for you! It's also well managed and serviced by very nice people in a new open-spaced place with high ceilings and oversized windows. The food was so good that we went there twice in a month. Also, there is a good variety of beers on tap and wine list. Highly recommended."

  • "Tried this new place during HV Restaurant week. Due to construction in area, a little difficult to find, but well worth the trip. Wait staff exceptional. I am not a salmon fan, but the entree totally changed my mind. Presentation of every plate top-notch. Believe it will become the "go to" place for high quality food, ambience, friendliness of staff. Met the owner's wife who took the time to embellish on our experience and the new "history" of the place. Friday lunch crowd was noisier than we would have liked, but that's basically the only downside to our enjoyment. More than likely, a wonderful choice for summer dining on the deck with bridge and river view and, once the new housing is complete, should become a neighborhood gem."

  • "Went here as part of restaurant week. Loved the setting and the restaurant had a nice vibe. Food was good but the service was really not well coordinated. Took a while to get some attention and once the waiter took our drink orders, it took a while for the drinks to arrive. The appetizers arrived before our drinks and we had to ask several times for the bread, which came after our main course was served. Overall meal felt a little rushed. Also, the music did not fit the overall ambiance of the restaurant--very loud, too loud a Sunday night--and rock music which also didn't work for the low light, quasi-romantic setting. As the regular menu is quite expensive, not sure I would go back unless the service was improved."

  • "I have dined here 5 times since it's opening. I continue to be impressed by the food and the ambiance but on all but one of my visits I have had issues with the service. The staff are very nice but as they work in a team type system and I get the impression each server 'thinks' you are being looked after by someone else when invariably you end up just sitting there trying to flag someone down. They have been open a while now so this should have been resolved."

  • "We went to Rivermarket for Restaurant week.n Bland scallops ceviche, had to add salt and pepper to spice them up...also, it seems only one sea scallop per person was sliced thinly and the rest of plate was filled with tasty salad. For main course, we both selected the salmon which was well done (grilled)but was an extremely small piece for each of us, probably not more than 4 ounces. We liked the parsnip puree with some kind of black seeds.... The arrugla salad was good and filled up the rest of the plate. The blood orange, mentioned on the menu, was size of my little finger. Apple gazette exc.,chocolate cake nothing special. Did not care for the long rows of tables instead of "scattered" tables....looked like cafeteria or group setup."

  • "Food was fantastic. I had duck and he had gnocchi for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. The only disappointment was our servers' wine recommendation and follow-up after our dinner was delivered. We told her what we didn't like and she gave us a wine recommendation that was exactly that. Someone else delivered the wine and remedied the situation. It was white wine so they put it in a chiller on a server stand nearby, but we had to flag someone down twice to have them refill our glasses. We had a table for 4 with only 2 of us so no reason the chiller couldn't have been placed on the table. And at some point prior to our meal being delivered, my date asked for more bread and we never received it. The server apologized when we pointed it out."

We thought the restaurant week might be a perfect time to try out a new place as we don't have to pay as much. Nothing to lose if we don't like it so much. We thought the space itself was very nicely done....the look of modern gourmet market with warm feeling. However, everything else was just okay. My husband and I ordered duck confit and my son ordered salmon. Both dishes fell short to our expectation. The duck was a bit dry and salmon was very small and nothing special. I coudn't help but to think we got what we paid for. Debating whether to try them again from their normal menu..."

  • "As soon as I heard about this new spot, I was immediately interested in trying it. Having been in this area for over 10 years, I take a liking to restaurants that sit along the Hudson River. Hastings, Half Moon, X20, Red Hat... There's something special about having a beautiful view while dining, so long as the other aspects of the restaurant are up-to-par as well. Needless to say, Rivermarket was everything I hoped it'd be. WONDERFUL service; our water was extremely sweet and VERY knowledgable. Attentive, yet not pushy. The food was EXCELLENT. We came for HVRW; I had the duck magret & my boyfriend had the burger. TO DIE FOR. Wine was great, ambiance was fun & upbeat. A bit cafeteria-like, but it didn't bother me. I will be back very soon!"

  • "We were excited to come and try this restaurant and overall it was OK. The food was good without being great but it was the disappointing service which surprised us most. I cannot remember the last time when the level of service influenced our experience so materially. The feeling we strongly took away was that this place invested in the fit out but not in its people - the staff were disinterested and appeared to want to be elsewhere which is a shame."

Salmon was well prepared, parsnip purée excellent. Gnocchi was good,but needed salt. Apple galette and panna cotta were delicious."
