River Stone ChophouseReally thought the serviceReally thought the service was superb and food excellent!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat First DinnerI took my wife for Mother's Day and I had a 1700 dinner time. We arrived early and was told that the table would be ready at 1700. We went to the bar for a drink and at 1700 we were told that our table was ready. We had a booth and it was very large. We had a group of about 12 next to us and they were fine, I just thought they were much closer to our booth than I would have liked. The service was great and there aged ribeye was one of the best I have had. I wish that for the price of the ribeye you got at least one side with the meal, but that is not how it goes at River Stone. All sides are extra so be prepaired to spend a little more. Overall this was a great experience and would do it again, but only for a special occasion.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AM718wattsI recently took my mother to the Chophouse for Mothers Day!. We enjoyed ourselves to the fullest. She is an avid attendant of this restaurant and when asked where she wanted to eat for Mothers Day, without hesitation, it was River Stone. The food is phenomenal, service is top notch, and the overall scenery was fitting for the occasion. Great restaurant!!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were a group of six andWe were a group of six and we all enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Having been here before I was looking ofrward to the salads and desserts.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper niceExcellent dining experience. Brought family that had never eaten there before and they loved it.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good experience. ServiceVery good experience. Service and ambience were outstanding. One area that could use a minor adjustment - we ordered calamari as an appetizer. We eat it a lot when we dine out. The use of corn meal is innovative, but not appealing to the taste. The calamari was not tender enough and not in keeping with a five star restaurant. The sauce that accompanied the calamari was absolutely outstanding. Recommend you do a secret shop at Carabaras in Greenbrier and try their calamari - it is markedly better.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a great spot and RyanThis is a great spot and Ryan was an excellent server on Friday nite 4/26 @ 6:15 PM.
It is unfornuate they do not offer reservations in the Raw Bar so it was first come, first served. They did contact me and were more than accomodating but my wife enjoy the casual energy of the Raw Bar area......NO WORRIES!!!!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWow, What great food and service,Wow, What great food and service, the wife and I loved it.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best place i have takenThe best place i have taken my wife for our anniversary. River Stone has some of the best steak i have had in years. I will definitely be going back. There was not a bad thing to be ordered. The Carrot Cake was top notch and the service was excellent.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst timerGreat restaurant. I must say that the steak I was served was the best I have ever had. If you a potato kind of the person the red smashed potatoes are a must. My Server was outstandin and the manager was great also. The really seem to want to make your visit enjoyable. The dinner drinks are second to none. Overall, this is one of the best restaurants I have been to in a while. It wasn't so packed that you couldn't enjoy you meal and company. Noise level was low, soft lighting, and overall romantic feel make this a good spot for a special night out with your spouse.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMTasty Travel to SuffolkMy wife and I traveled to River Stone Chophouse in Suffolk for our 21st. Anniversary Dinner. The trip was well worth the effort. Although difficult to get to from the Southside of Hampton Roads, the steak and style are worth the traffic.
They, of course, are known for their meats. Prior to the meal, the server will bring out a meat board for you to look at the choices of steaks (Filet, T- Bone and Strip). They also have Colorado Lamb, and thick Pork chops. BUT, you can also have seafood. My wife chose the Salmon (which melted in my mouth, when I tried it), While I went with the NY Strip. My steak was perfectly cooked. The price of the meal is high end, however you'll find the steaks costing less than Ruth's Chris4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy Birthday to Me!We had a very nice time. The food was very well prepared and time perfectly. We were able to have dinner and not feel rushed to leave the table. Not for the budget minded, but if you want to have a good splurge this is the place.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best steak in SoutheastThe best steak in Southeast Virginia. Fantastic service, atmosphere and wine/cocktails.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMParticularly perfect evening.Particularly perfect evening. Food was outstanding as was the service.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary Dinner to RememberI called to ask if our reservation would be held since we were running late. The hostess was very friendly & polite. She thanked me for calling & we were seated immediately upon arrival. It was very quiet & romantic. I loved the decor, simple & elegant. Our server was knowledgable & didn't hover. He came by to check on us at just the right time & answered all of our questions right away. It was a wonderful evening. The food was perfectly prepared & displayed. The only thing that brought the experience down was the restaurant got noisy as more groups came in. At first there were only couples & then the groups started showing up. At least it was quiet most of the time we were there.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, excellent serviceGreat food, excellent service and worth the price especially if it's a special occasion!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingThis is my place to eat. It was a wonderful meal. The House Cured and Smoked Salmon is a perfect light appetizer. The potato soup makes you want to tilt the bowl and get every last drop. Sesame-Crusted Salmon over shrimp fried rice was cooked to perfections and the rice was so good we had to order another bowl to take home. I am not a steak person but I ate some of the Bone-in Dry-Aged Ribeye and it melted in my mouth, it was heavenly. I actaully moaned when I ate the Flourless Dark Chocolate Torte. It was a good meal3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMa great neighborhood gemAbsolutely love this restaurant. The food is exceptional, the waitstaff knowledgeable and friendly, the atmosphere is rich and comfortable. The bar area is fun with TV's and a great beer and wine menu. I wish I lived closer.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellant Service and theExcellant Service and the Food was wonderful. Got a candle in my dessert for my birthday. Our group of 8 had an awesome time.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I dine here frequentlyMy wife and I dine here frequently and as always we were treated to an excellent dining experience. We were welcomed at the door by a professional and inviting hostess. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgable and quick to answer any questions. The service was prompt but not hurried and we were made to feel very welcome. We visited during restaurant week and were treated to some dishes that are not always on the regular menu. The food was excellent and well prepared. Morgan, Dillon, Ryan and as always Terry Truitt made sure we had a wonderful experience.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst impression was excellent...This was our first experience at RSC and hopefully, not our last. Everything about our visit was fantastic. Our server, Fallon, was everything one could hope for. Pleasant, polite and very knowledgeable. We all started with oysters on the half shell and each variety was very good. We then moved on to our dinners and everyone was very happy. My wife and I had one of their cut-in-house steaks, and my mother-in-law had one of the specials. Desserts were equally as good. RSC has their own pastry chef that makes all the desserts in-house. This restaurant has a huge wine list with a large variety of price points. I highly recommend this restaurant. Do make a reservation, though. It was pretty crowded when we got there on a Friday night.1/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
