We decided to celebrate Mother's day a bit early with a brunch for 9 of us last Saturday. The food and service were excellent! Omelets, pasta, burgers...all delicious! As were the yummy croissants with dipping chocolate and the endless mimosas! We were seated outside so it was very lovely and quiet. The staff made sure we had plenty of umbrellas surrounding our table since it was so hot that day. It was also MUCH quieter than the indoor bar area. The setting was also very relaxing and a quiet respite from the craziness of restaurants on a Saturday night. My friend Chadwick was singing Thursday night and it was a great mix of jazz and popular music. We had mushrooms and a cobb salad. Both were delicious. And the service was friendly and attentive. For years we thought Sportmen's Lodge was closed or whatever. River Rock Lounge opened and we are so happy. We have had Sunday Brunch, Lunch and Dinner there ...their chef is first class. Presentation excellent. Can't wait to go back. The establishment has gone under a facelift and it looks so much more romantic. YOu have the option to dine out in the patio with the pond view under twilight lit trees, great ambience. The service was exceptional our waitress Danielle was beyond attentive. Very reasonable price and food was prepared just right. On weekends they even have a dj after 10:00pm to extend your fabulous evening. The setting is lovely and the recently re-vamped lounge is stunning! Very contemporary and updated.

Nice Old School Hollywood feel.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMthis is a very nice, medium-sizedthis is a very nice, medium-sized room, which is part of the old sportsmen's lodge complex. the lighting is dim and it's been relatively quiet on our two visits. that is to say, without a raucous noise level. the food has been very good, but we found the portions of appetizers and desserts very small. they aren't really large enough to share. the menu is not at all extensive. i would have preferred a few more choices. the service and our server were excellent--helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. we will go back.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMy new local favorite!Wow! What a great makeover! I live near the Sportsman's Lodge and heard that the River Rock Lounge was good. I wasn't expecting an AMAZING drink menu (I had a drink called Mommie Dearest that had pear vodka and chilis --fantastic!) and an INCREDIBLE new menu. Our party of four shared a variety of plates --rumaki (great!), calamari (really good!), tuna tartare in mini cones (MUST!!!!), the seared scallop salad with watermelon, cucumber, mango (A MUST HAVE!), and french fries with truffle oil (yum!!!). ROCKS!!I found this place on help while searching for a restaurant with a patio, happy hour and great food. I love trying new places and It turned to be one of the best new "finds" to date. Service was amazing, the facility inside and out was impeccable and the service?! Don't even get me started... It was by far the BEST service I have EVER had. The staff was accommodating, friendly, welcoming and very "old friend" like. My friend and I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant and the shrimp salad. It was to die for. The food was very good and so was the service. I liked my potato leek soup, and my wife liked her tuna tartar for an appetizer. My entree, a black cod, was very good, though not tasting of miso sauce---more like a mushroom sauce with shrimp risoto. We tried the Muddy Moose dessert--very tasty, but too much for us to finish!
