Extremely polite and attentive personal service, and really really good food. Portions are large so order sparingly if you're a small eater. Music was buzzy enough to be lively, but not too loud so you can't hear yourself talk. Such a fabulous restaurant, I'd definitely come back again."

  • "It's pretty remarkable to see no hint of the former Hamburger Hamlet space. Phenomenal transformation! RivaBella has great food with impressive portions. The corn chowder and carbonara pasta were outstanding. And the ambiance is gorgeous. It's rare to find a pairing of great food with a stunning backdrop. Unfortunately, we're not rushing back. We waited nearly 40 minutes for a 9:00 p.m. reservation."

  • "Sunlit patio with plenty of shade, one of the loveliest spots in town. Food terrific, interesting choices and large portions. Our waiter gave us great service and was knowledgeable about everything, food, history of place, their wine list. Very quiet as it was a small amount of people lunching which surprised us. When its full the noise level is buzzy."

  • "Riva Bella is a great special occasion restaurant. It ain't cheap, but it's worth what you spend! Food was absolutely delicious, I can highly recommend the Octopus as a starter - but everything that all four of us had was really good. Service by Jason the Waiter was very professional but he was also willing to roll with the punches at our table and he had a great sense of humor. We stayed a good three hours and just had a great time with friends and enjoyed great food and a great all-around experience. Also, the patio is beautiful - I know this restaurant was red-hot when it first opened but they weren't full this night - not sure why because it's better than a lot of similarly priced restaurants in WH/BH."

  • "Our first visit was near opening of the restaurant and was very loud and crowd was more bar scene noisey. We have since come back twice and learned to go early in the week and found the service,food and noise level very acceptable. I believe they continue to refine the menu and keep their offerings interesting. What they offer is done extremely well and the room is a wonderful atmosphere to dine and converse."

  • "RivaBella is GORGEOUS...truly a special location and ambiance, and worth visiting just for the beautiful patio setting. Stunning room - one of the best patios in LA. The service is exceptional, and the ambiance is outstanding...both worthy of 5 stars. Their cocktails and food are very good and worthy of 4 stars. We sampled a few of their specialty house cocktails, and each were good, not great. We enjoyed the following dishes: Octopus salad (excellent; must try); Prosciutt O E Burrata (very good); Kale salad (average); Risotto with Mushrooms (excellent; must try); Mixed wild mushrooms (very good). We were a bit rushed, and did not get to sample their main courses nor desserts, but hope to be back to give them a try."

  • "Cool decor. Convenient location. Menu is limited. Portions are small---and prices are high for small portions. I didn't find any of the food choices we ordered to be amazing. We did the nitrogen ice cream for dessert- eye catching but again super small portions! Service was adequate---but we didn't feel well taken care of. The hostess was a bit snobby. We asked for a booth when the restaurant was empty (6:15 pm) and we were there for a bday. They snubbed us and then gave in. Weird. Bread guy was nice. Decor is really hip."

  • "This is my first review but we have been exploring new restaurants for date night & fun to get outside of our goto spots. we decided to include our kids in the hunt for great food for family dinners as well but fining dining and kids ?? like many Europeans, family dining is important quality time for us. So we went to Riva Bella and they couldn't have been more attentive. The patio is gorgeous and they made according to our 7 year old thin crust pizza critic "the best pizza he has had". (No small claim) Our 16 month old girl enjoyed the fresh blueberries. The steak was cooked to perfection and the wine list is extensive. "

  • "After three visits here, Riva Bella has become our favorite restaurant in L.A. and Orange Counties. We "grade" food so as to avoid making the same mistake twice and this restaurant has more A++ grades than anywhere else, pretty much literally. Marche Moderne and Republique are close seconds then Tar and Roses. (LA rules for restaurants!) We still can't believe a hip and high style restaurant serves the highest level food - unlike the two high style Fig and Olives, for example. Don't miss these appetizers: Lobster tortellini with broccoli cream, roasted octopus, spinach salad with mushrooms and balsamic, lobster ricotta (nice quantity of lobster), mushroom pizza. The blueberry crostada will make you sing! Great wine Good service "

  • "4 for dinner @7:00 Saturday ,a great experience. A wonderful reception...Giorgio was in the house and introduced us to Chef a Luigi. The tuna tartare starter was excellent, as was the grlled branzino. What a terrific presentation. The grilled shrimp were a bit mushy...and the hearts of palm salad a bit ordinary...bottom line, we look forward to Returning!"

  • "Even though I made a reservation with a request for the patio they put us in an empty section behind the bar where no one was sitting. The whole point of eating there is to sit in their outdoor patio which is 90% of the restaurant seating. When I requested to sit there they said there were all reserved for the rest of the evening.... however I witnessed many tables that were never occupied throughout our dining. Clearly this is a "place" that caters to those they know or who they want to impress. food is way overpriced - the soup of the day, carrot was $14, really! The pasta portions are very small with big price tags encouraging you to get more food - most of the meat and fish dishes hovered around $45++ . What a waste of time!"

Wines are overpriced beyond reasonable, or unreasonable, however selection is great if money is no object (I would say that while some restaurants double wine prices, this one prefers a multiple of 5 or greater). Good impression overall."

  • "RivaBella was the first restaurant my girlfriends and I ate at for our first trip to Los Angeles, and we were not disappointed! Such a beautiful place with an amazing ambiance. We arrived an hour before our reservation and were prepared to wait in the bar area, instead the hostess was wonderful with getting us a table right then. The waitress was incredibly sweet and helpful. Our cocktails and meals could not have been better!"
