Dinner was really fabuluous--IDinner was really fabuluous--I had a salad with buttermilk dressing and bacon that was really delicious. The scallop main course was cooked perfectly with four very generous sized scallops. My friend had the filet special and it too was cooked perfectly with a really lovely reduction sauce.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dinnerHad Mother's Day dinner with daughter and everything was great. Location in mansion turned gallery allows for casual-cool or fine dining. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food was fantastic. It is expensive but we felt it was worth it for special occasion.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest burger in town and anywhereMy sons from NYC and I went out for a pre Mother's Day dinner. We were disappointed that we could not sit in the garden because it was raining. The noise level inside from the bar was so high we could not hear each other across the table. But the room is beautiful and the food was good. Their burgers were delicious and were much enjoyed. They were pleased that they were able to order the burger even though it was only on the lunch menu. My fish was overcooked but tasty. It was presented beautifully. Wait staff were friendly and helpful without being overbearing.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinner and great serviceI went with a party of 4. We shared a few items from both first and second course options. Theyre all sharable. Than for main course, all 4 of us ordered something different out of the five selections (which all sounded good). Each one of us were highly pleased with what we ordered.
Staff is very nice and very knowledgable about drink menu5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and waiter made it perfectWent for an early supper on a Saturday. The waiter we had was wonderful- giving us tips about ordering, answering questions, and generally being appropriately attentive. For example, the butter that arrived with the bread was delicious - and he explained it was first browned and then mixed with buetter and milk crystals...very memorable. The califlower steak is a signature dish, and was delicious. The stuffed squash blossoms were also a real find.
Overall, a very good restaurant expereince!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat placeA group of 4 friends and I were looking for a good place to eat. We picked this place using open table because it had good reviews.
The waiter was friendly and the food was great.
The only issue was open table had it listed as only $$, but really it should be $$$. The base meal is around 20-30 + your side dish is another $10. If you're looking for something good and new do check this place out.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMlove love lovewe love this place. love that there's a small menu and that it has something for everyone. plus, the kitchen and wait staff always seem very flexible, easily meeting special requests. can't wait to go back. a retty, pretty place. no pretension. just great food, attentive, honest service, pleasant people who are not gushily inauthentic. just love this place - the whole vibe is all about great food and great service without any of that annoying upscale blather. the mushroom side is so unusual. like nothing i've ever had before. likewise the cauliflower entre. this chef has a natural creativity around food one doesn't encounter often. especially in philadelphia. the city is lucky to have him or her. what a great meal!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA very nice addition to theA very nice addition to the food scene on Rittenhouse Square. I like the cauliflower "steak". And it's healthy for you, too. The halibut was very good and served with a tasty sauce.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMpotions were good. fried chickenpotions were good. fried chicken "free range chicken" nice to have reasonable size pieces. sides of biscuit and beans, slaw great. lemon cake was yummy, perfect. bouillabaisse delicious. wine by glass good, small glass though, big price. nice room.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI love the restaurant spaceI love the restaurant space and the building where it is housed. All beautiful. And a Rittenhouse Square landmark. The food is good, at times very good, but at brunch, this particular time, just good. It does not have a consistent high quality to the food, as other restaurants in the area...AK Kitchen, Vernicks's, Parc. but it is a beautiful place to go, and service is generally very good.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the house breads forWe had the house breads for the table, a burger, and chicken and waffles. Overall the food was delicious, and the servers were terrific.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great meal and enjoyedWe had a great meal and enjoyed the ambiance. Service was good as well. I will return!!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Easter Brunch !We really enjoyed Easter Brunch. Staff was friendly, food was terrific. Sous Chef Hillary's desserts are amazing and are a terrific complement to Chef Nick's food. We love this place ! It's become our family favorite.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOur group of eight truly enjoyedOur group of eight truly enjoyed our meal here. The whole experience was very nice.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMDining Pre-theaterFar exceeded our expectations! What a pleasant surprise! Our server(s) were informative and engaging. The food was excellent. What an enjoyable experience. Best fluke we've had in the city and the crab cake appetizer, coupled with the potato puree, made for a wonderful entree. Highly recommend! Can't wait to go in the summer and dine in the outdoor courtyard.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMReally enjoyed the unusualReally enjoyed the unusual roasted cauliflower "steak" and the crudo appetizer. Would like a little wider selection on the menu, though. Inventive cocktails, though a short list.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food in a craftsman's settingFor anyone who especially admires high-level cabinet making, the place is a visual delight with walls covered with now rare American hardwood panels and trim. Our server was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable and though the menu was not extensive, it showed a well-balanced diversity with some imaginative entries. Appetizers, salads and entrees were excellent and nicely presented. We were there in Feb, but the patio looked inviting and we're looking forward to coming back in the spring. Its an easy walk to the theaters on Broad.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMDid Valentine's dinner thereDid Valentine's dinner there and it was fabulous! Will definitely go back for more.2/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMuch improved! Happily surprised! My last visit was about 6 months ago when the service was lackluster. Had a different server today (I think her name was Alex) who was wonderful! I had the Salmon tartar which was excellent. My companion (who vegetarian) had the pancakes and a side of perfect over easy eggs - even the side of eggs were simply and elegantly presented. We were really surprised at how much improved the service was. Please keep (and add more!) vegetarian options!2/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant has a veryThis restaurant has a very different menu. Not your typical fare. The cauliflower steak is really good and good for you. We all had the parsnip soup which was excellent. The service was also very attentive.1/24/2013 12:00:00 AMBut for the high volume levelBut for the high volume level of the noise in the dining room, this could be a really great restaurant. We were at a table for six and it was difficult to hear anyone other than the person next to you. The food was really good - loved the pate plate, the scallops, the duck, the fluke and the razor clams. Service by Alex was very professional and efficient.12/15/2012 12:00:00 AM
