Diner Reviews
  • "I made reservations via OpenTable to meet with someone I had not seen in over 10 years -- and wanted a nice outdoor place where we could talk over dinner. When we arrived, we were told that I hadn't specified an outdoor table, and we would need to wait at the bar. I hadn't seen anyplace on the Open Table form to "Click" for this, and hadn't realized it was needed. This initially embarrassed me, but we were provided a table within about 10 minutes. Maybe this helps sell more drinks? :-) The enchiladas were delicious. My companion was alarmed by swooping birds before our food came. Fortunately they seemed to leave! The music on Friday night was pleasant -- they could have turned down the speakers, though."

  • "We have dined at Rita's kitchen on many occasions and it has always been five stars across the board but this time was definitely an off day. My wife ordered a beet and goat cheese salad, hold the onions. When the salad came it was covered with onions. She sent it back. When it came back the second time the onions were gone but so were the beets! As they say, "the third time is the charm." This incident is a first. We have eaten there many times, without incident, and will continue to do so."

  • "We stay at the Camelback Inn every year. Their restaurant Rita's is wonderful. Their breakfast buffet is our favorite with cheerful waitstaff and yummy fresh food. We always ask to sit in the patio. At night, especially on Fridays there is live music, and it's never too loud to enjoy your dinner. There are fire pits since the restaurants is next to the R Bar. My chop salad was a little disappointing. Too much iceberg. Overall the food is always excellent. Try even if you're staying somewhere else. You'll wish you were staying here."

  • "Everyone in our party....6 of us with 2 children....enjoyed the experience at Rita's Kitchen. The patio is lovely, the food delicious, the tableside guacamole divine. The service was attentive and the patio and music provide a wonderful ambiance. Our kids are visiting from Chicago and they want to go back to Rita's Kitchen another time during their stay."

  • "The Brunch was absolutely wonderful, food layout easy to follow, great choices. The scallops were some of the best I have ever had. Great for a special occasion, or just to treat yourself. Hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. Can't wait to go back."

  • "We ordered a Filet Mignon for our dinner. It absolutely was not a Filet. It was full of fat and gristle. Service was slow. Our orders (there were four of us) had several mistakes when delivered to the table. Overall - not acceptable when paying these prices."

  • "This spring Sunday was a lively and busy brunch/lunch time. The one nice thing for older folks who just can't consume a large buffet, you can just select off the regular menu and not pay for the pricey champagne. brunch of $59. Regulars know this and enjoy going on Sundays even when they offer that large buffet. The ambiance is always special with seasonal flowers that overflow the grounds, gracious and friendly staff who make it their business to get to know you and call you by name if possible. The chicken enchiladas are a favorite severed in the red metal, pot. . There is a perfect size of interesting soups, sandwiches or salads and if you are feeling like a big brunch buffet, they have that too."

  • "One expects good food and service in a top flight resort but we were extremely pleased with both at Rita's. Much more than we expected. Having been to the Camelback Inn for Happy Hour's, decided to try the regular restaurant. The food was well above expectations and the kitchen really knows how to do Mexican dishes! We will definitely be returning on numerous occasions."

  • "I took out of town family members for dinner and we ate on the patio, enjoying the lovely lush flowers and soft live music. I recommend the shrimp enchiladas. Two of the guests ordered fish tacos and the other guest enjoyed mahi mahi. The service provided at Rita's is always outstanding."

  • "Very pretty outdoor setting with live music the night we were there. Wait staff was not on top of things. Very disappointed. The shrimp enchiladas were missing enough shrimp to call it a meal for $23 and swimming in lots of sauce although tasty. The chicken tortilla soup was excellent.Steak Fajitas were very salty."

  • "Rita's hits home runs all around for it's Brunch! The food was the best and most varied I have ever encountered, plus there was live music (guitar player), fantastic service and views of Camelback Mountains - it just doesn't get any better!!"

  • "We are regular patrons of Ritas Kitchen and have always enjoyed it. We went for dinner and where seated at 7.00pm and by 8.15 decided to leave, no food, no explanation as to why it was taking so long and no offer for appetizer to appease us while we waited. We sat there and watched everyone around us come and go. Shocking service!!"

  • "We always very much enjoy a meal at Rita's, the food is excellent and the service is pretty good. We always eat there when staying at the Camelback Inn, breakfast and/or brunch, and dinner. The ambience and views dining outside on the terraced patio in particular are great, with live music either outside or from the bar area on weekend evenings. Rita's is at the Camelback Inn, which is the finest resort in the Valley in our humble opinion. The hostess, wait staff and bussing staff are always cordial and attentive."

  • "Great food and service but sit on the patio on Sat night as the noise level from the band inside is deafening. Couldn't even hear the hostess when we were checking in."

  • "Rita's kitchens always has an atmosphere to make you feel so welcomed. They make it a point to get around and check on you. And they easily learn your name if you come regularly. The setting is always ablaze with flowers and this resort has a lot of patina....a comfortable worn look of old comfort, leather chairs and Mexican and Arizona history displayed in pictures. Now for the food! The enchilada dish is a heavenly blend of tastes served in a handsome red metal casserole dish and is always piping hot. Whether it's a tuna fish sandwich or an omelet , the meal is always a tasty blend of flavors. Even though they serve a luxurious Sunday buffet, don't be scared off because they serve all items off their regular menu . Hats off to Gigi."

  • "Was pleasantly surprised at the lovely setting and the terrific jazz ensemble. The special of the day Grouper with Poblano sauce was exceptional as was the mahi mahi Veracruz. We also had the chips and salsas. The chips were too heavy and thick, but the salsa were a nice range of flavors, spices and heat. The churros could have been cook a little more and our two favorite topping were the spiced pear and chocolate. Overall, a lovely evening, good waitress and reasonable prices."

  • "This is a wonderful place for lunch. The service is very good, the food is good and prices are reasonable. I was at the Kierland Westin a few weeks ago for lunch at Nellie's. The service was so-so. The food just okay and price was very expensive for the service and the quality of the food. I've been to Rita's 3 times now and its been delightful. Dani"
