The food was good. The eggplant Parmesan and angel hair pasta with shrimp were very good. Maybe too much sauce on the pasta putanesca; .would return for the food. The service was odd. The server was abrupt and moved so quickly we thought he was going to certainly dump the dishes on us. Not friendly but not rude. With the right waiters and more attention paid to our table it would have earned more stars.

We've dined at several places in the area; this was one of the better reasonably priced restaurants. Food and service were very good. We were there early (4:30), with no other customers when we arrived, but people started coming in by 5 p.m. Based on this one visit, we will definitely go back.

Based on prior reviews I reserved dinner for three while visiting my daughter at college for Parent's weekend. The ambiance was fine, the food was reasonable but the service was disappointing. Multiple servers who did not seem to be communicating well amongst themselves, service was slow...it took forever to get a glass of wine

We went to this restaurant based on Open Table reviews. It's very pretty with a cool little brick oven. Nice ambiance. I suspect they were having an "off" night and did not have enough wait staff. The service was very, very slow. We waited over an hour for our food and the restaurant was not crowded. The service staff seemed to be running around the restaurant. The food was very, very good. I had the fish special and was not disappointed. After the long wait for our meal, we did not have time to stick around for dessert.

We were looking for a quiet place for an early dinner with friends prior to going to a People's Light and Theatre performance, and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed salads and fresh pasta dishes and wine by the glass. Very reasonable prices. Great service and atmosphere. We'll go again.

I like the complimentary valet parking. I like the linen table cloth and napkins. The prices were reasonable. The food was good. The water glasses were too small and required repeated refilling. The service could have been more attentive. Enough positives to visit the restaurant again.

Staff was welcoming and pleasant. The meal was solid neighborhood Italian. The kids were counting on pasta, in red sauce, in large portions. They definitely received what they were hoping for. There's not a lot of curb appeal from the street, but "the inside" has a much nicer feel. Interior is well lit; glass partitions define the dining room; the decor includes images of flowers and an Italian travel poster or two; the tables are well-spaced. The large adjoining "bar" area is darker with more of a pub vibe. Business seemed brisk, and the crowd generally appeared to be long term patrons who were very comfortable with the staff and happy with a tried and true menu. Valet parking was a nice touch. Might try the pizza on our next trip.

My husband and I enjoyed a romantic dinner date at Ristorante Primavera last Saturday night. It was our first time at this beautiful restaurant. The food was excellent with an extensive menu, and daily specials that we enjoyed. The atmosphere is lovely and so tastefully decorated and the service was terrific. What a wonderful discovery. We will definitely return! Who needs to go to center city or South Philly for great Italian food....its right here in Wayne PA! Marianne and Ed

The place is nice and the service on this visit was excellent. The food however was mediocre. The soup, while tasty, had vegetables that were very soft indicating it had been in the pot for a long time or it was from another time. Since we were the first people to arrive freshnes was a question. The ravioli were small, doughy, and generally tasteless. The veal marsala was over salted and the gravy tasted like it came out of a can. We have been there may times but this was most likely the last.

Primavera was very good: the food was excellent and the staff were very pleasant. I went (very) early on a Sunday evening and there were understandably only a handful of other diners so it is probably unfair to comment on popularity or on noise. The menu is not overpriced and I will be visiting again.

Headed here for the first time Friday night. Was a little concerned with the mixed reviews but they were unwarranted. The food was great and the price right. The rolled eggplant was delicious as an appetizer. I had a mixed drink and it was perfect. Our waitress Char was attentive and took care of anything we asked for. My only small complaint was that at 42 we were by far the youngest people in the place. I would head back here very soon!

My husband and I came in for an early dinner with our 9 month old son on a Friday night. We were greeted with a friendly hello to a warm inviting atmosphere. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the red sauce was divine! My son loved it so much that he smeared his hand all over the white linens. The manager was not phased, in fact, she blended the vegetables up for my son so he could also enjoy the amazing food. The best Italian on the Main Line by far... And we eat out all the time. We can't wait to go back especially knowing that it is family oriented and so delicious!

The service was bad, and barely anybody else was even there. They charged me almost two dollars for two tiny cups of Sprite, EACH, and they tasted like soda water. My pasta wasn't great either, it had no flavor. My boyfriend wasn't too pleased with his meal either. I would not go back. There were barely any other customers (understandably) but they all seemed to talk really loud, but perhaps that is because it was so empty that the noise was so irritating. At least the restaurant was pretty, it was sort of romantic I guess.

This is a very acceptable Italian neighborhood-style place. It is informal, and the service a little rough around the edges, but the food is really very good. We dined as a family of four; all of us found something we would like from the menu, and all our courses came to the table at the same time, well prepared, and hot. Perfect for a family dinner.

Disclaimer: I work in the restaurant industry, not just an overly picky diner. We went here on Valentines Day and to say the service was bad would be an understatement. She wasn't just slow, she was rude and dismissive, the maybe one time she came to check on us she walked away before we could tell her what we needed or how things were. We had to ask for things several times and after asking twice for dessert menus we were handed our check. I understand being short staffed but her attitude was unacceptable. The manager seemed aware of the situation but offered no help or apologies until we were walking out the door. I would hope in the future management would be more on top of their staff instead of watching as service falls apart.

We went there for Valentine's Day expecting a lovely, romantic dinner experience. Our waitress Char took at least 1/2 hour to even come to the table to take our drink order and then other 1/2 hour before it finally arrived. So after 1 hour we finally were able to put in our dinner order. During dinner I had requested another glass of wine which came after the meal was completed and which I no longer wanted. The only thing I can say is that I couldn't wait to get out of that place and even refused having dessert which is my favorite part of any meal. To top it all off when we were leaving the Valet brought our friends the wrong car and we had to wait another 15 minutes before his car arrived and we were able leave the parking lot.

This is a good sized restaurant in a nice location. Parking is a bit clumsy though with a valet parking line that extends out into Route30. We had a group of 7 and were comfortable. The wait staff was a bit short causing our server to be in a rush. She worked hard but was a bit disruptive to the evening. The food was good everyone ennjoyed their meals. For a high end location they just need to work on creating a bit more graceful experience.

Pasta was homemade, delicious. I had the lobster ravioli special, full of lobster. Lasagna was different w/ Bolognese and béchamel sauce instead of ricotta -very good. Only "complaint" would be that the pasta entrees did not come w/ salad, so additional salad was a little expensive. Desserts were also very good!

I, my wife ,my brother and his wife were looking for an Italian restaurant in the West Chester to Wayne area and came upon Ristorante Primavera by chance on the internet. After looking at the restaurant along with its menu we took a chance for our first time meal at a new place. We were pleasantly surprised. The before meal drinks at the bar along with the meal we were served in the dining room were excellent. My brother and I plan on a return visit with our family in the near future.

  • Service is Poor

While the food is adequate at Primavera, the service was so poor that it will prevent us from ever coming back. There is a "3 person service team" that a waiter announces upon seating. However this same 3-person team handles every table in the restaurant which is not very efficient. We ordered cocktails at two different times during our meal, and waited 15-20 minutes each time for them to arrive. We finally had to ask someone about them. Communication between "the team" is very poor and there was never a server when you needed one. I also waited 15 minutes after seating to get someone's attention to ask for a wine menu. The owner has his hand at every table, but It doesn't seem to help- nobody seems to know who's doing what and when!
