  • "This restaurant has been in business for a long time, and with good reason. The food is excellent. The surroundings are delightful and our server, Marcello, was a treat. They serve wine "flights." A sampling of the extensive wine cellar, which is fun for those trying to develope a wine sense."

  • "Six of us sat in the bar area and it was great . The staff was very helpful and the wine was amazing as always. Food was very good especially appetizers and pasta."

  • "We are never disappointed when we bring guests to this restaurant. The food and wine are always outstanding. Most of the time the service is equally outstanding, although sometimes (like on this visit), the service was just "OK". We think a new server.... But even at that, was still acceptable."

  • "As usual, Ristorante Panorama never fails to impress and give us an enjoyable evening. WE started the night with flights of champagne, shared the Calamari Marinati, each enjoyed our dinner Chioces. Mine was the Tortellini Di Ricotta, hers the iGamberi Con Fagioli Di Soia. Both were shared with great relish. Afterwards we had my coffee and her expresso. Unfortunately, this time there wasn't room for dessert, but we did manage after dinner drinks. All in all, a great evening."

  • "I took my husband there for his birthday and they really made our experience great. I would recommend this to everyone!"

  • "Portions were smaller than usual. An unpleasant odor was noticeable in the bar dining area only (bit like a dirty mop). Food wasn't okay….not as yummy as when we dined previously and was just warm. A bit disappointing….."

  • "It has been some time since I was last at Panorama, and I had forgotten how vast the wine list is and that one can get many, many wines by the glass. Pricing is very competitive, more so than in many area restaurants. The food was very good, and the service was efficient and pleasant. My church is just a block away, so I hope to make Panorama a more frequent dining destination."

  • "We wanted a quick Friday night getaway in the city. We arrived early, got street parking and settled in at the bar for a few drinks before dinner. Bartenders were knowledgable and friendly. After a few drinks of new wines from the well stocked wine bar we had to decide on dinner at the bar or our reservation in the dining room. We did not want to leave the bar but opted for the dining room. Dinner was lovely and our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Save room for the tiramisu. Overall a great experience."

  • "The restaurant is located in the Penn'sView Hotel. We have been to Panorama before but this time we spent the night in Hotel. Between the two that is where my title came from. We have been to many restaurants and hotels in Philadelphia. This is why I can say there is None better. If you can't stay at Penn'sView you still have to eat at Panorama."

  • "One wine flight was terribly overpriced. (If it were outstanding, I wouldn't have minded it were MORE expensive). The waiter's breath was abominable. Other than that, the service was fantastic, the food was great (especially the pasta)."

  • "Had a very nice diiner on a Saturday night - most of the food was very good, with a few minor exceptions, but nothing that would prevent me from dining here again. The hightlight as always are the flights of wine, and Jessica our waitress was nice and attentive."

  • "My wife and I, along with her sister and husband, dined at Panorama for lunch (twice) and dinner. Our dinner experience was excellent, even after we had to ask for our bill to be corrected. The mistake was acknowledged and handled quickly and professionally. We started by sharing 2 appetizers - Calamari Fritti as well as homemade ricotta & mozzarella ravioli in a basil cream sauce. Entrees consisted of an order of plain Penne' Pasta, Pan-seared "diver" scallops (fabulous texture) Risotto with shaved truffles and a spinach pasta with pork ragu sauce. All were excellent Dessert was shared - profiteroles filled with peanut butter mousse topped with chocolate sauce and crumbled peanut brittle along with a selection of gelatos."

  • "We had the trio pasta sampler for an appetizer which was excellent but the main course the veal was rather bland and lacked flavor."

  • "I have been to this restaurant before and have liked it. Not this time. We had a 7:30 reservation - we were on time and were told by the hostess that it would be a few minutes wait as they were waiting for tables to turn over. We were a party of three and there were at least 4 or 5 tables for four completely open. Both girls at the front seemed to be scattered and clueless. The food was mediocre. I had the spinach pasta with sausage - the pasta itself was homemade and cooked well but the sauce was nonexistent with very little sausage. Presentation was lacking - food wasn't well seasoned. There are so many other Italian restaurants in Philly that are so much better - I would not ever return here."

  • "While the name of the restaurant includes "Panorama", there is no view at all of anything. Our meal was just OK but the wait service was poor. Wrong drink order, forgotten drink order. The restaurant was not that crowded nor was it any special day but the service lacked. We do visit Philadelphia often, but I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone nor will we revisit."

  • "If the weather had been warmer, we'd have left and walked until we found another place after we learned that the main restaurant was closed due to too few people dining that evening and we saw the limited menu. Pasta was overcooked and boring, even though I ordered the special of 3 pastas. The salads were the best part. The extensive wine list at least provided us a sure bottle of quality wine. Overall, the food and drink were overpriced for the quality."

  • "I have gone there 3 times now over the past years. Each time was a mini-reunion with dear dear people in my life. The wine samplers are great - the food terrific- service superb- memories- everlasting."

  • "so glad that we finally tried this place. We did it all, we sat at the bar (kudos to Anne the bartender) and did 2 red wine flights and the 4 italian cheese tray. Then she moved us to the perfect table for dinner with Annette the waitress. Both ladies were very knowlegeable and quite friendly. The food was delicious and the staff was very professional."

  • "Had reservations for a table, but went early to sample some wines at the bar. Atmosphere and service in the bar area was so awesome that instead of being seated, we decided to order and eat our dinner right where we were. Bar staff was extremely helpful in selecting wines and recommending food. And the food was delicious."

  • "The wine list is outstanding. The food was so-so. The gnocchi was delicious. My steak temp was spot on, was tough. The wines were as advertised and simply delicious. The service, way too slow. It took over an hour and half to get our entrees. However, it being Valentine's Day, I could have overlooked all, if it hadn't been for the maitre d'. This person commands the dining room and looks you up and down and seats you according to what you are wearing. My wife and I were dressed to impress each other and we looked great. Nonetheless, we were seated in what could be best described as "the also ran" room. This room does not even remotely resemble the main dining room and guests seated there are treated like second class citizens."

  • "We had a group of 10 and Ristorante Panorama provided a lovely feast of antipastos, pasta, and entres, all delicious. The escargots were especially good, as were the tagiliatelle and the pappardelle. Although the service was a bit slow, we were 10 and it was Saturday night. No complaints at all."

  • "The wine here is delicious! The food was okay. It seemed as though not everything on the menu was made fresh which I expect from a nicer dining establishment. We would definitely return for the bar but there are so many other options for Italian food in the city that are better if you are looking for dinner."

  • "But whatever you do, make sure you are not seated in the main dining area off the main entrance. It's entirely too many tables in that space, This seriously detracts from what otherwise would be a 5 star experience most nights."

  • "Escargot appetizer was bland. We waited a long time for our main course. The veal mandolese was bland and had a chewy texture. My girlfriend ordered the noodles and tiger shrimp, and this was not good either. The noodles were clumped together and the shrimp barely had any flavor. By the time we finished our main course, we were at the restaurant for 2 hours already (from when we sat down at our table, to when we finished the main course). No one came to collect our plates for a while, or even to ask how everything was, until finally the waitier took our dessert order. I ordered the "mixed sliced fresh fruit and berries" which was just chunks of cantaloupe and honeydew, with a few slices of strawberries. We were there for three total hours."

  • "Everything from start to finish was worth every penny. Amazing selection of wine with flight options galore. This is a place where pasta is homemade to perfection."

  • "When my wife and I considered the restaurant, we expected a fine dining atmosphere based on the website, price, and ambience. What we got was a good experience, which would be more than adequate if we were dining at Olive Garden or even Maggianos. One of my favorite restaurants is Ruth's Chris Steakhouse because of the atmosphere, food, and most of all service. I will pay the price for better food and service, i just don't believe Ristorante Panorama offers this. Either lower the prices, or preferably increase the level of service and quality of food."

  • "Went for restaurant week and they started our party off with a free glass of prosecco in honor of my friends 21st! They have an unbelievable, record breaking actually, wine list and offered their full menu for restaurant week. The food was GREAT. Would absolutely go back and would recommend to anyone!"

  • "This restaurant was, as always, up to its usual excellence. Our waiter was good, but others serving tables nearby, were obviously better. Their food was food is incredible, as well as their wine selection. What a great place to go."

  • "Ristorante Panorama has consistently been one if my favorite Italian restaurants in Philadelphia, and no doubt one of the best. Their service is always outstanding and I love sitting in the bar area, or downstairs by the wine cellar! Their rotating wine list is always sure to please and my boyfriend and I love the flights! Always so much fun, and the food of course is delicious and looks so pretty coming out! We go all the time, so I figured it was time to give it the great review it deserves!"

  • "We had a great restaurant week experience from beginning to end. We arrived early and sat at the bar for a little while (And that was our choice as our table was ready when we arrived). The waiter explained the menu to us (it was choice of any menu item), and everyone (there were 4 of us) chose different items. We all thoroughly enjoyed each and every morsel. Service was great and well paced. We even parked in the hotel lot and received the preferred parking rate for restaurant week (the lot had not been noted on the event list). All in all a great time."

  • "Ristorante Panorama may have the Guinness Worlds Record for largest selections of wines, make the best martinis, but this elegant diamond in the rough of Old City has old world charm. The views of the Ben Franklin Bridge, an elegant dining atmosphere and outstanding food are among the highlights! Above all, the people and the staff help all these great amenities to come together for an incredible dining experience! A must on anyone's list!"

  • "We visited during Philly Restaurant Week 2014. Having so many choices, we decided on Panorama, having visited there before. They opened their whole menu as part of the restaurant week special menu. No exceptions! Service was pleasant and very good. The food selection was a great experience and you can't go wrong with their gnocchi. Only hitch was the hostess trying to seat us at the first table inside the front hallway that was set for 2, when 1/2 of the nicer dining room was empty. Seriously?? We asked for and were seated at a larger table at the rear of the dining room. A smaller table would have never held the food plus wine flights."

  • "They offered their full menu which was nice. Food was good. Service was good. We sat in the upstairs dining room, which is nice, but the wine cellar is a much better place."

  • "I booked reservations 2 weeks out for a party of 10 at 9pm and called a week out & 4 days out to confirm my reservations. We arrived at approximately 850pm and were told the wait would be about fifteen minutes. We went to the bar for a couple of drinks and 25 minutes later went to check the wait and were told 15 minutes again. This happened 2 more times even after speaking to a manager. We stood at the bar for over an hour waiting to be seated for a reservation that was confirmed twice. We were finally seated OVER AN HOUR after our reservation time. The food took forever to come out and we ended up eating at 1130. The food was very good but would never go back. Gratuity was added and we weren't notified. Would never go back."
