He greeted us with a pleasant smile and a warm welcome. He knew the specials by heart and made several good recommendations. I had the tortellini with cream sauce and proscuitto, and my date had the soft shell crabs. We didn't feel rushed and left satisfied and happy. The service was very pleasant, adept and prompt. The food was quite well proportioned including the tomato/cheese salad, and the mushroom soup was excellent. The pasta special ( with lobster and sun dried tomatoes in a garlic type sauce ) was good, not great. My wifes salmon was well sized and very tasty and the "special" veal chop was perfectly prepared and very juicy and well seasoned.
Overall, given the food and service quality, we were pleased and would return. The food was good and there was no corkage fee for the wine we brought. (Sundays are BYOB!) They honored our reservation and gave us a nice table. The waitress seemed
overwhelmed but tried to keep up. They was also a private party so that might explain why the place was so packed. Overall, a great choice that was reasonably priced, with good food and a pleasant ambiance. I arrived early and waited at the bar. Every person who cam in seemed like they were from the neighbor, everyone knew everyone. The two young ladies work the bar were outstanding. Our server, I appologize I can't remember his name, was a professional with and 'A' rating. Se were there Saturday evening Aprio 27 @ 7pm. The food was great and our server Mossimo was fun, friendly, and knowledgable. The decor is fine -- not swanky, and not stuffy, but just enough to give you a little something to look at. There was certainly an authenticity about the restaurant that was charming. We did appetizers to desserts and enjoyed all of it. The appetizer special--the seafood cake--was great, ironically not too fishy, but tasty. My husband's dinner (sausage, marscapone, pear) ravioli was good and filling, as was my veal florentine. It's a great place to go when you want good, authentic food without for a decent price.
