The worst waiter ever! We made it very clear my husband was Celiac and needed gluten free food. He order a GF pasta-the waiter took for ever and when he brought the food I re-checked on GF and he said-"I have 7 tables, Im too busy, the cook made a mistake,etc..." He never put in our GF order! It came again, after I ate and too late to enjoy---

Our second visit.the first was a few years ago when we stumbled on this gem. This visit we made a reservation so we wouldn't miss out. Everything (scallops, ravioli, veal, desert) we had were excellent. Our waiter Alex made great suggestions. Great service. I will make it a point to return every time we visit Quebec City.

My husband and I went to this restaurant on our first visit to quebec city. We were there for my husband's birthday and so i prebooked all the restaurants prior to our arrival. We weren't dissapointed. Food was excellent . My only complaint would be that because it was so busy, our waiter forgot to bring us our bottle of wine. Having pasta with water just not the same. finally when he realized his error he brought us each a glass of wine b/c it was at that point too late for a bottle. Would have been nice if those glasses were comped but nontheless we would go there again if we were to ever go back to Quebec city.

We had lunch here on our last day in Quebec City. I ordered cannolini and my husband ordered pasta with a spicy red sauce and veal meatballs. The waiter forget to bring the meatballs with the pasta and came back with 5 grilled meatballs that were delicious. In fact everything was delicious. I ate both huge rolls of the cannolini and we polished off the pasta and meatballs as well. We had a bottle of my favorite wine Amarone which was very reasonably priced. Would definitely go back when I visit again.

We booked at Il Teatro for our first evening in Quebec City, and were very pleased. Beautiful room in the Capitole theatre building, very competent Italian menu, and gracious staff who were not at all disturbed by our limited French. They learned that one of us was celebrating a birthday and brought a celebratory dessert. Very nice place.

Great meal, great service, beautiful outdoor patio, just outside the gate of Old Quebec City. We had a delicious meal with our children- my husband and children are all cautious eaters and all were delighted with their choices. We enjoyed a seared salmon, a grilled steak, a pasta with shrimp, and two other pasta dishes.

We come to Il Teatro every year. We love the location next to a music venue during the Festival. The place is electric with energy! The food is quite good...though by no means the best among the many fine dining establishments in QC. I had the grilled squid and black ink rotini. Both were superb...it's pretty much what I get every year, but I would recommend them to anyone. The (3) squid are large tender in a balsamic potion...outstanding! The pasta comes in a creamy sauce...very good. Prices are reasonable by QC standards. I would recommend Il Teatro to those looking for a lively (sometimes loud) high energy night, which is fun to do when on vacation. If you prefer a more subdued atmosphere you could could always dine inside.

Beautiful restaurant; excellent food and service. Our waiter, Charles, was adorable. Started with calamari friti and the to die for fonduta with mushrooms. Both were outstanding--that fonduta could start (or end?) a war. Salads left something to be desired--we had ceasar and the tomato/mozzarella/prosciutto salad. Bad time of year for tomatoes, I know. But the ceasar wasn't too good, either. For entrees, we each had pasta--Spaghetti Carbonara was very nice as was the smoked duck ravioli. Alas, no room for dessert. Excellent coffee, though! Would recommend Il Teatro highly, and would definitely return. Quebec City is tre' magnifique!

I spent the weekend in Quebec City with my husband and 2 kids to enjoy the amazing winter carnaval. We decided to book this restaurant in advance based on the menu and the fact that it was walking distance to our hotel. We weren't really expecting much but we were pleasantly surpirsed as soon as they brought us to our table. The view in front of the Palais Montcalm was stunning and the food was amazing from the entrees to my flaming creme brulee. The service was quick and our waitress was very attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyway visting Quebec City, you won't be disappointed.

We loved Quebec City but we won't be going back to this restaurant. Sorry we didn't chose another place to go to with so many great restaurant in old Quebec City. I would go to Conti instead! That was our second time for the december 25th falimy diner this year again.. Ambiance wasn t as mush magical as the first timr last year. Nevertheless, it s been a nice evening in family. Meals were ok but not amazing. Brucheta entrees were ok, not more. I choose a filet mignon. Again, ok but not much (for the price)... So, filnaly, good restaurant to get goods meals but not expect to much particulary for price paid. You wont regret the choice but you will probably want to try a another one next time. But you will also come back in an other future.
