Authenticity is apparent in every aspect, our name, Ristoranté Brissago, is taken from a small town in northern Italy on Lake Maggiori. Truly authentic Italian cuisine served in a romantic setting, amid spectacular views of the Wisconsin countryside. It's the culmination of 10 years of planning, says Executive Chef Michael Sawin . Our Bufala Mozzarella contains 100-percent Buffalo milk and arrives weekly from Campania, where they've been making the cheese for centuries.   • "We celebrated our engagement here and it was super romantic! We were seated by the window with a lake view and they placed rose pedals on our table. The dishes were so tasty and the wine selection is great! My fiance really enjoyed the Old Fashion whiskey drink make with cherries from Italy! Great service and just a perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion!"

  • "We were here for my fiances birthday, and while our waitress was fine, the girl who was bussing our table was beyond rude. First, she took our appetizer away when there was still half remaining and we were clearly eating it. She never asked, just picked it up and started walking away, until we stopped her and asked if we could please finish it. Near the end of the meal, she took my wine glass away, again without asking and had walked away before I could say anything about how there was still wine in the glass that I would have liked to finish. Food was good, wine was good, but overall we walked away with a feeling of being seriously rushed and not able to enjoy our food."

We enjoyed the experience, as did the group a month later. This visit was for a birthday celebration. From splitting a pasta entrée' as an appetizer, an excellent idea by the way, heirloom tomato salad to the Chilean Sea Bass simply put, it was wonderful. Our skilled server, Samantha, provided service equal to the meal. We consider this restaurant a special place for any occasion including a week day meal."

She relocated us to a larger table in a room within the dining room that was perfect for a group and where we would not disturb others enjoying their meals. Service was great. Food terrific. Some ordered fish, some Italian entre's and all came out at the same time with perfect presentation. When we asked for more bread (which was brochette), we were promptly provided two more plates. Wine list is wonderful."

  • "We were a large group of 10 adults and 7 children so we're given a lovely side room. The waitress was amazing with her knowledge of an extensive menu! Our only complaint was the long wait for the food. With a lot of very small children who had a big day at the water park at the resort, they were tired and hungry. We ended up rushing through our lovely meal after going through a lot of wine during the wait. $800+ later .....we do realize it is a lit of fiid to get out at one time. It was delicious!"

  • "We went skiing and then stayed at the Grand Geneva on a cold, but beautiful Wisconsin evening. We really enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere in the o Brissago dining room. We sat near the middle of the room near the antii-pasta "display", which of course prompted my 5th grade daughter to want to try it. We loved it! My daughter had the 3 course "children's" menu (minestrone soup, pizza and dessert), she really enjoyed it. I had the Caesar Salad (made table side), very good, fun and shared with my wife and daughter. The Saltimboco and Sea Bass entrees were excellent, overall it was a wonderful evening!"

Everything went smoothly and we both agreed it was the best wine we'd ever had. Our server seemed very young and possibly new to the restaurant as she was not very helpful in navigating the menu, however we still had an incredible time and the food was OUTSTANDING! Great for a romantic night getaway."

Everyone working was very nice and professional. Our server explained the specials and the layout of the menu and wine list. She was helpful and answered a few questions we had about the dishes. She was polite and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our meal for almost 3 hours. Appetizers, soup, a pasta, lamb dish, and desert. Every course was full of flavor and well plated. I will recommend this place to my friends that make it up to Lake Geneva!"

When I made the online reservation, I simply wrote "anniversary dinner". Rose petals were all over the table when we arrived! And we were given free tiramisu for dessert. So delicious and unexpected. Meal, ambiance, wine were more than we could have asked for. Our waitress was a little slow, and not very on top of things, but the food definitely made up for the service. We were the last couple in the restaurant, yet we were never rushed into finishing our meal. It was a perfect nite! Only complaint was the waitress, and even she didn't ruin our nite. We will definitely be coming back!!!"

So unbelievable, plan to come back every time I'm in town."

The only knock was the noise level, but it is a very big dining area - thus a lot of people. The noise didn't detract from the experience. We would recommend this place for anyone in the Lake Geneva area and even say it is worth the drive."

The only thing we could criticise was the lack of crema on the expresso. Everything else was perfect from the food and wine point of view. Personaly, I do not enjoy music from the 1940's. More recent would be a lot better."
