Good not great. It's a little pricy for what it is. I went there for an anniversary and I while they suprised us with a dessert for two, that part was just "ok." It would have been preferable to offer us a special aperitif or something but actually give us our choice of desserts - we never even saw the dessert menu.

My wife grew up in Vienna and had never been to Bonaroti's! We thought it would be fun for a Saturday "dinner and a show" date, and we were happily correct. The experience starts from the minute you step in the door and host/owner Sergio Domestici escorts you to your table...he is awesome - straight from the cast of a subtitled Italian movie! We felt a bit under-dressed (did not realize it was so elegant inside) but they treated us like gold, and even made sure our meal was timed perfectly to get us on our way to the show in an hour. We enjoyed venison and shrimp/crab prepared as Italian specials, and both were mouth-watering. The service was spot on, and I only wish we'd given ourselves more time to linger over dessert...we will be back!

  • I have been a patron of Ristorante

    Dined on 3/6/2010
I have been a patron of Ristorante Bonaroti for many years. I took a friend fo the restaurant for his first occasion. I/we were very disappointed to be seated next to a table of 3 couples and at least 5 younger children. As the food, as usual, was delicious, the interruptions and distractions made by the children whose parents seemed to let them loose and unsupervised made for a very disappointing evening. Bonaroti's is not the place to bring little children for dinner. I recommend to those parents to get a sitter next time, and go to Bonarati's for a nice, romantic evening without the children....they might like it!!

We celebrated our 37th Anniversary two nights ago and our expectations were exceeded. We had dined at this restaurant about 20 years ago with the family and we had a wonderful meal and a great time. I don't believe it took us so long to return but this place is actually better. We eat out a lot and have dined at some special places all over the world. This place was busy on a Wednesday night but despite that, the service was outstanding, the ambiance was romantic, and the food was fabulous. This place is for a dining experience. They had four pasta course specials in addition to a full complement on the menu. The pasta was fresh made. Veal dishes were amazing and the wine list was extensive with affordable bottles. This place is a gem.

  • Bonaroti's is my favorite
    MikeHikeEatVIP
    Dined on 2/18/2010
Bonaroti's is my favorite place for a business dinner when I'm in the Tyson's Corner area. I even consider it near by when I'm in Reston; the food is worth the 20-30 minute drive (depending on traffic). They have at least a dozen specials every evening. The standing joke amoung the friends I go with most often is that we've been there more than 20 times and never had to open the menu; we are always enticed by the specials. However, when no one was looking I have cracked open the menu several times and it is quite extensive, filled with Italian favorites. I wouldn't characterize myself as an expert; but, I belive their dishes represent Northern and Southern Italy equally well. Sergio is an accomplished chef and a dedicated host!

    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 12/31/2009
My husband and I dined on New Years Eve and we were surprised to see a limited special New Years menu. We are both health conscious, most of the time, and it was difficult to order an entree that did not have cream. I had the house arugula and radicchio salad with parmesan slices that was delicious and red/green/white, a pleasing plate with a very small portion (about $12). We ordered the same entree, linquini with fruits de mer (seafood)(about $34) because spicy marinara sauce was offered as an alternative to cream. When the waiter brought his dish, my husb wondered where was the pasta, a neat, small portion, hidden beneath a small portion of tender, perfectly cooked, delicious seafood. And dessert ($15), the very best tiramisu ever!

This was our first visit to Ristorante Bonaroti and overall we were very pleased. The food is very good but not quite Italian as we know it (we lived in Italy for a decade). My pasta was slightly overcooked but the sauce was excellent. Our service was superb and the menu and the wine list are excellent. Indeed, Sergio has a first-class selection of superb Italian wines, very impressive! The downside: one. The dining room in which we dined was lovely but it was too loud. Our party of four had difficulty conversing because of the background noise. That said, we enjoyed our meal there and plan to return.

One of the best Italian restaurants I've ever eaten at. My family and I went to a highly rated / recommended Italian restaurant in New York and all agreed that Ristorante Bonaroti was by far better food and service. Our group of 3 were there for an early dinner at 5:30 and the restaurant was almost empty. By the time we left, the restaurant was full, but the noise level stayed quiet. Conversation was easily heard. The food and service were very good. Great place to meet with friends or to take your out-of-town guests. They had an extensive list of specials, which were comparable in price to the entrees on the dinner menu. It is not cheap, but you get what you pay for in quality and quantity of the food, ambiance and service.

We had lunch there. The place was very clean and elegant - I never knew that restaurant was there. The food was very good and an excellent value. The service was good, however the waiter kept looking around as he recited the many items. There was no pepper/spices for the olive-oil that I would've appreciated. There weren't many folks there, but there was a private party in the side room that didn't affect us. The menu was quite diverse, however the "lunch specials" insert wasn't a "lunch bargain" insert - it wasn't clear if they were specials or bargains, the prices were all over the place - we just ordered from the regular items and enjoyed them. The bread was plentiful and fresh.
