The server kept popping in and pushing us to order. We told her that we weren't ready to order, that we'd like to talk over cocktails, and we'd let her know. They serve italian food but with a twist on it. I would describe it as sophisticated italian food. Flavors are complex and the ingredients work well together. The pappardelle pasta with Duck Ragu sauce was unique and excellent. The wine list is impressive and they can help navigate it with good recommendations. The gelato was delicious. Our servers, especially Esteban, were great. My wife and I had a salad and entrée then sorbet and tiramisu. Every dish exceeded any reasonable expectation. Perfect steak, marvelous scallops, creamiest Gorgonzola and tiramisu that melts in your mouth. Friendly and helpful waitstaff that were not intrusive. If you haven't been, GO! If you have, go again. As usual, the food and the overall experience were flawless. The seasonal menu was superb, especially the "Tigella Modenese con Squaquerone," an interpretation of an Italian street-food sandwich with house-made fresh cheese (that's the "squaquerone") and the wine pairings -- which consisted of wines I never would have chosen individually -- were very successful. We have been to several of the Bartolotta restaurants in town, but this was our first visit to Ristorante Bartolotta; I can tell you it will not be our last! We ordered a recommended bottle of wine and our server was spot-on with the choice, as it was an excellent compliment to our meal. Deserts were heavenly. Bartolatta keeps the fare clean and delicious. Many newer Italian restaurants in the area overload their entrees with extra ingredients making the food too busy.
