"The staff at Ristobar provide really excellent personable service. We dined there on Easter Sunday, unaware that the restaurant was only offering only a pre-fix menu which didn't suit our party. As we were unaware of the pre-fix the staff offered to allow us to order from limited selections on the al a carte menu which was perfect for our group. Most of our party ordered pasta which was light, fresh and simply prepared. We also shared wings of a dove, a very light panatone, served with zabaglione which was excellent. As the restaurant was quite the chef, Michele Belotti, came to our table Micheal Bauer is right he is a chef worth watching. We had a great evening with good food & wine in a restaurant where we could easily hear each other."

"This was our first visit to Ristobar and while we mostly enjoyed our meal, we were somewhat disconcerted to have two large TV screens over the bar, distracting us. The space is one large open room, and it seems there should be some separation between the bar and dining room if there are going to be sports on during dinner. The standouts in our meal (there were 5 of us) were the peperu, the capesante, the casoncelli and the pizza. Also the desserts (we sampled 3) were all delicious."

"This is one of the best open space places in the city. Great vibe. I knocked one star off because we had to wait 30 minutes for our table despite having reservations. People don't want to leave this place so be prepared to wait yourselves. The wine list and bartenders are superb they let you taste until your sure your getting what you want. I would stick to the pizzas/pastas and wine if you want a great meal."

"Beautiful Italian murals on ceiling and walls. Food is delicious, portions are just right. Dessert is to die for as it is made by Rulli's. Our waitress is very knowledgeable in recommending food pairing with wine. My husband and I will definitely return to this restaurant soon."

"I am almost reluctant to write how terrific I found the food and ambiance as I don't want this to get to be another of those great restaurants impossible to get in to! Each dish we had was outstanding including the vegetable sides especially the Kale and the grilled Asparagus. Instead of hard as rock chairs and being elbow to elbow with the next table, this restaurant has soft seats (pillows even!) and enough room between you and the next table to have a conversation without shouting or straining to hear. And we weren't subjected to some waitstaff's idea of good music compilation from their iPod playing too loud in the background."

"I love the food here, each item the best of its class, the prosciutto, cheeses, meats, pasta, vegetables, all simply prepared and cooked to perfection. The wine list is great as was the service. I chose the restaurant for a business dinner and asked that we be seated at a table that would be the least noisy. Management was very obliging and accommodating. I have one small reservation. The bread was a bit too white and gummy for my taste."
