Diner Reviews
  • "Absolutely delicious food. Have been here several times now and it's becoming a traditional date night go to for dinner. The Staff is amazing and very friendly."

  • "If you haven't been to RisiBisi yet and you live in the Sonoma County area, then you need to make a reservation and just go. The restaurant is not overly expansive which makes for a much more intimate dining experience. The waitstaff are all knowledgeable and incredibly gracious. The menu incorporates local meats and vegetables from the area which make for not only unique but sumptuous dishes. We were quite well taken care of and all needs, no matter how small, were taken care of quickly."

  • "Had a lovely dinner with a friend after a long day out. The atmosphere is comfortable, yet sophisticated. The food was very enjoyable, and did not disappoint. Looking forward to another visit sometime soon. There were several items on the menu that I would like to try."

  • "We have eaten here several times both lunch and dinner and it is always a great dining experience. The host and wait staff are very conscientious and professional. They make every attempt to please everyone and do not try to "up sell" on the wine list. Food is delicious as well."

  • "The sauces were outstanding. The chicken was very tender and tasteful. Your lone waiter was outstanding and very calm when he took out 7 different orders. Your fixed lunch menu was fable. Thank you again for a wonderful dinning experience. One drawback, difficulty with parking. Your directions from Santa Rosa were off. Why not tell people to take the N. Petaluma Exit and just come strainght in?"

  • "We've eaten here at least five times over the past couple of years and they never fail to provide excellent food and excellent service. A neighborhood gem!!"

  • "food was mediocre at best & we were very disappointed as we had dined there a lot when they first opened & the good was exceptional No real flavor and although there was only 3 other tables it came out cold. Our waiter was really nice & helpful with menu."

  • "I am so often am disappointed with what I read about a dining experience and what it actually unfolds when I dine. Our luncheon at Risibisi could not have been better. Just approaching the restaurant I became captivated by the savory smells emanating from within. We had a challenge making our choice because everything sounded delectable The service was friendly. The staff seemed in sync and committed to bring us a pleasant dining experience. I have already let a few friends in on the secret. Everything is well thought out.. From the flatware to the size of the coffee cups to the food presentation and most of all taste, Risibisi is an experience to treasure all the way around. Bravo!"

  • "My husband and I had a date night planned and immediately knew we needed to go somewhere that didn't include chicken tenders or mac and cheese on the menu. We had been to Risibisi one other time, years ago , and loved it so we decided this was the place for our date. You guys didn't dissapoint. Thanks again for wonderful food and memories."

  • "Thank you for making our dinner at RisiBisi a special one, it was my boyfriends 60th bday celebration, and Creig the waiter was Fantastic. It was a wonderful evening! Jennifer Roemer"

  • "Lovely wait staff welcomed us though we were a good 15 min early. Pasta dishes delicious- and one of us was left gnawing on lamb shank bone all that was left from his meaty shank served on bed of risotto. Great wine suggestion from waiter, and the birthday not loved his lemon drop cocktail and tiramisu dessert."

  • "They have a very economical prix fixe lunch. We didn't opt for that. Instead my husband had the wild boar gnocchi which, as touted on Check Please, Bay Area, was up to the hype. He really enjoyed it. I had eggplant parmesan from the regular menu. It was good but not spectacular. Could have used something else on the plate besides the main dish. Seemed a bit bare. The cocktails were excellent. This is a nice place. I'd go again if I were in the area."

  • "I like the ambiance of the restaurants. Everyone was friendly and service was good. We have eaten here before and the food was better. A friend and I had the pappardelle with duck. My husband had lasagne. We were disappointed. Food was just ok. I would try it again but not would probably not order a pasta dish."

  • "Met some friends who came to Petaluma from Marin County on a very rainy day - good spot to meet however parking can be a little bit of a challenge on the weekend (street parking). The service was really good, our waiter was kind and respectful due to some issues of no dairy, no gluten for a member of our party. The food was fresh, tasty but not anything to rave about. A good value to consider is 3 course lunch special - satisfying."

  • "A splendid menu and wine list at moderate price. You won't be disappointed with anything you order. I sampled salad, appetizer, and the salmon special. All were exceptionally tasty and attractively presented by our affable server."

  • "Went on a Sunday night as they opened. Had reservations, but didn't really need them. The room is well-appointed. Brick walls. Service is wonderful -- water refilled, soft drinks refilled, more bread. Food arrived promptly. Salads are big portions. (Often you pay $9 for a salad and it's a little thing.) Both the Caesar and the spinach salad were big. And very tasty. We had pasta dishes, both outstanding. (Though the puttanesca was salty -- with anchovies, capers, and olives. It was fine, but I'm glad I tasted first before salting.) Nice red sauces on both dishes. Prices are reasonable. Two salads, two pastas, two soft drinks (we don't drink alcohol), and the bill without tip was $60."

  • "I have been going to Risibisi for several years and I really enjoyed the food prepared by their female Italian Chef. Her cooking was done with dedication and love. She is no longer with the restaurant. PLEASE BRING BACK the female chef!!! I was just there and was not impressed with the quality of the food. Perhaps they were having an off night."

  • "The waiter we had was well versed in the menu. The venue went to the trouble of printing out information cards regarding one of the specialties: salmon from New Zealand. One would think, that seems a bit odd, based on where we live, Salmon from New Zealand? It was Great as was the rest of our meal, from appetizer to desert."
    Dined on 12/31/2013
  • "Our waiter was excellent and he picked up that my friend was taking me out for my birthday. Although we did not order dessert, he gave me a scoop of delicious gelato with a candle!"

  • "Creative Italian food, the lightest gnocchi I've ever had, and an impressive list of Italian wines in the California wine country."
    Dined on 12/25/2013
  • "Food was fantastic and service was great. I had the wild boar ragu with penne pasta (they ran out of the homemade gnocchi) and my friend had the breast of duck ragu. Drink menu was limited. Maybe because of the holiday. Wine list looked extensive but I am not a wine drinker. All in all an excellent choice."

  • "Our family group of four had a memorable dining experience in Christmas Eve here. The ambiance was warm and inviting, the space is cozy but didn't feel crowded. Even though the restaurant was fully booked all night we didn't feel rushed to finish our meal. The food was excellent and the service was attentive and friendly. The owner kept an eye on things all night and checked in at every table. I had the winter vegetable risotto and beet salad and my family all ordered the salmon. The portions were generous and there were no leftovers to take home! Very nice experience, we will definitely return and tell friends."

  • "I had Risibisi's for lunch on a Friday and had to go back the next Monday because it was sooooo yummy! The first time I enjoyed their calamari, Caesar salad, and a dish of amazing scallops with a delicate green salsa and perfectly prepared Brussels sprouts. I love scallops and the way Risibisi prepared them is one of the best I've had. The second time I had their calamari and Caesar salad again (they're much too delicious to pass up) and had their juicy, tender, brick-pressed chicken over amazingly delicious veggies--loved it! I highly recommend this place which is great for business meetings or special occasions as well as solo dining."

  • "Disappointed because we made a reservation and waited about 25 mins standing in the doorway. There was a group that came in after us and took the one open table and we were not seated for some time. Food was good but this delay put a damper on the dinner."
    Dined on 11/30/2013
  • "First time there and would go back when we are in the area. Service was great. They even did a wine flight for us. Waiter was knowledgable, courteous and attentive. Food was very good, well prepared and nicely presented."

  • "This was the third time I've been to Risibisi and the first time for dinner. Previous two times were just wine and appetizers at the bar. Had great wine as recommended by the waiter, really enjoyed the Gorgonzola and pear brushetta appetizer, Cesar salad dressing the best I've ever had and the scallops for the entree were excellent. I do recommend this restaurant for special occasions or even for just a casual dinner out."

  • "We had dinner before setting off for a performance at Weill Hall. The short ribs were excellent both as the mail dish and as the topping for the special risotto. Service was friendly, precise and joyfully tolerant of our quirky member. He deserved our generous tip."

  • "This is my third visit to this restaurant, and it has been consistently good. Attractive interior but could use a little more warmth either in decor or temperature. Food and service were very good."
