Went for dinner on quiet Monday night. Very attentive service from a knowledgable waiter. Top quality food, nicely presented and creatively prepared. Desert was worth a trip back. The wild boar gnocchi was delicious even if the gnocchi was not the classic potato in pasta. The salmon was very good and well prepared, the only negative is that it lacked the richer flavor of wild caught. The calamari was flour dusted and flash fried so it was deliciously tender and not greasy. We will b back next time we are in the area.

We were very pleased with the high quality of food offered and how it is prepared. First off they are part of the Slow Food movement acquiring as much as possible food from local farms. Then they investigate and study foods that you might think is not good, example they serve Pacific farmed salmon, Oh, No farmed fish! but this farm is in New Zealand and the farm keeps the fish in a moving salt water river, they are taged so no cross breeding or inbreeding can happen and lastly they feed them only the best food , no hormones or bad products only things fish should ingest- very responsible. The salmon was prepared to perfection grilled rare on a bed of pearl couscous. We had two classes of wine a Rose and a chardonnay. the waiter even let us taste other wines before deciding-very classy. they serve some of the best tasting focaccia we have ever eaten with local olive oil and balsamic vinegar from Modena. We Highly recommend this restaurant.

The details of the setting, the service, and most notably the food, rise up to produce a crescendo of perfection and Proustian Nosegay of the senses. I had the filet of sole which was seared in a melting sauce of lemon butter and capers. PS> The waiter was handsome, charming and efficient.

  • Zucca Risotto Better than mine!

    Dined on 11/8/2014
I pride myself on my Zucca Risotto, but it pales in comparison. It was everything I want in a risotto, creamy, not glutinous and with just enough bite. I had to put my head in the door of the kitchen to thank them for the risotto. Glad it was the special of the day. Went with two friends one had never been before. We all will go back. Plus it is such a treat to do a bit of browsing in the antique stores and the seed bank after. Petaluma really is a place that is a delight to go for lunch.

All the food was quiet nice -- the eggplant in particular. Also recommend the roast beet salad. The service was disappointing (especially considering the restaurant was pretty empty for lunch) -- our appetizer dishes sat untouched for a long time -- they were still there when the main course arrived.

Our meal was really quite delicious, but be forewarned - if just two of you come for dinner, you are likely to be seated in "Siberia", a narrow little aisle on the side where you will be looking at the backs of all the other diners, except perhaps the small child who stands up on the bench to look over the back at you! The tables are so narrow that you fear rubbing against the rough brick wall as you eat, but you can't move away from the wall or you'll trip the waiter!

This was my fist visit, took out of town guest. The food was great except for an anchovy crostini but I just shouldn't have tried it. It was too fishy. The sauteed sole in lemon butter with capers was amazing and my husband loved his eggplant parmesan. The terimisu was devine. The house pinot gresio super. We will definitely go again. The service was excellent even though the place was packed.

Perfect stop for apre-concert dinner (Late Lunch) in downtown Petaluma. The restaurant is small and intimate, but extends to the river front deck in the back! Fresh baked Forcaccia. Good appetizers esp. boquerones bruschetta (White Anchovy). Fresh pasta. Reasonably priced BTG wine offerings. Lunch served till 4 pm on Sat. Enough time to walk around historic downtown Petaluma, sample homemade ice cream and Espresso, before heading out to Green Music Center at Sonoma State Univ. Must come back for the deck seating, when the weather is not too stormy. Easy Parking in the back of the restaurant.

Beef carpaccio melted in our mouths, the bruschetta was marvelous, and the calamari was light and crisp. All three of us enjoyed Risibisi - beautifully prepared food that melts on the palette. Great decor and wonderful service - a delicious place to be. Can't attest to noise level as we were there for lunch and, unbelievably, there were very few other diners, but I'd go back in a heartbeat. Try the eggplant parmesian - a sensuous experience! And our waiter was able to recommend a wine that was precisely what we wanted.

My wife and I had dinner here on our first night in wine country and it really set the tone. Our waiter, Tyler, suggested a local wine that was fantastic. Service throughout the night was excellent and really made for a great time. Food was great with just the right size portions. End of night we were surprised with a complimentary desert to celebrate our anniversary which Tyler had noticed was mentioned on the reservation. Capped a great night I would come back to this restaurant in a heartbeat.

Famous for their Risotto and this time I had the wild boar gnocchi. So savory. The owner Marco makes you feel like you are an old friend and is usually present to make his guests feel welcome and special.

Altyhough it is rather noisy, we didn't notice after a while. The food and service were excellent! This was a lovely restaurant that we found simply by using OpenTable. We had never eaten there before, but when we were looking for reservations, it popped up and was near our hotel, so thought we'd give it a shot and SO glad we did. The corkage fee ($15) was reasonable, Tyler (our waiter) was friendly and helpful. He was also attentive without constantly interupting. The ambiance was lovely. Overall, this was a GREAT FIND and definitely recommend it to anyone in the neighborhood!

We have been here about five times now- if you sit in the back room there is a view of trees out back (and no noise back here at all!). The service is always great and helpful. The food is excellent- especially the veal tonnato, the salads (always super-fresh and seasonal), the pastas, and the dessert. We usually don't have main dishes as we have a lot of the starters- but people around us seemed to be very happy with their meals. The wine list is small but priced gently and the servers are always happy to make what turn out to be excellent suggestions. The prices are very reasonable and the dining experience here is always a pleasure. We strongly recommend if you are in the area.

We were so appreciative that they held our reservation even though we were 1/2 hour late. Then once seated we told our server that we had to attend an evening event and would have to be out of there within an hour. After all of that we were served an absolutely delicious meal - the bruschetta and eggplant parmesan were the table favorites. We never felt rushed and we even had time for delicious strong coffee after our dinner. We look forward to returning soon.

Second time I've been to Risibisi. Went there for lunch w/co-worker when first opened, weren't impressed. Never went back. Recently a friend told me she thought it was great so we decided to go for dinner. Overall the service was very attentive. The servings were super small, "artistic" in presentation. We shared calamari, salmon crudo, a salad, and the eggplant parmesan (2-3 bites each). Not the typical serving sizes you'd see @ neighbor Cucina Paradiso -- so if you are looking for a more traditional Italian meal w/ leftovers, don't go to Risibisi. If you want a culinary "experience", go to Risibisi. $62/person (not including tip) for a few shared plates (no dessert) + 2 glasses of Italian vino each.

We took a trip to California so my husband could run in a Marathon in Santa Rosa. We were looking for an Italian Restaurant to eat at the night before the race and were referred to this restaurant. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but it was wonderful when we came inside. Authentic Italian recipes and dishes, including Wild Boar! Everything was perfect. Our server was very attentive. We arrived on the early side, so we were almost alone in the back room. As we were leaving, more people arrived and it became a bit more lively. I would highly recommend Risibisi to anyone visiting the Santa Rosa area.

...the food is exquisite, the ingredients all very local, and I was joking with our wonderful server, (hails from Rome...!), that I would rate this place at least 6 or 7 Zagat stars... The prosciutto with melon was out of this world, you have to try it. You just can't find honeydew melons and cantaloupes that sweet and flavorful in a supermarket, they must have been picked same day. Ditto, the several kinds of tomatoes in the tomato-mozzarella salad plate, they were sliced from homegrown, the diameter of dessert plates...! Definitely going back, highest recommendations!

We are so happy that we did. The food was excellent (we both had specials) and the server was exceptional (attentive and friendly). We booked this restaurant as a last minute reservation on open table on a Friday night. There were good reviews on open table. From the outside the restaurant looked closed but of course it was open and from the inside the lighting and ambiance were very creative and interesting. Our server was friendly but not so savvy on the wine list or Italian food. This was unexpected at a high end Italian restaurant in wine centered Sonoma County. He was not able to pronounce the Italian dishes. The main dishes were delivered (an hour later--"large group of 12")to our table without description. The food was "so so", my pork loin came out deep fried!, chewy. The pasta was fresh, the amount of fish/meat in the pasta dishes was scant. Bummer.

Our lunch was exquisite - caprese salad with local tomatoes, house made gnocchi with wild boar sauce (I wanted to come back for dinner to have it again), but best of all - we stayed chatting at our table until 4:00 (lunch service ends at 2:30) and the waiter was gracious and welcoming. It felt like I was in a trattoria in Italy, where mealtime with friends is honored and treasured. One of the two best Italian restaurants in Petaluma. What a lucky town we are!
