Special Events & Promotions:
RIS offers three beautiful private dining spaces for every occasion from business dinners to wedding rehearsals. The State Room is our smallest and most intimate dining room, seating a maximum of 10 guests. The Federal Room seats up to 35 guests, and comfortably accommodates up to 45 for a standing cocktail reception. The Main Dining Room accommodates 40 guests, and when coupled with the adjacent State Room, seats to 50 diners. We also have other options for group dining, including two banquettes that seat up to 16 guests. For more casual receptions, the Cafe area next to our bar is a great location for a standing cocktail reception. Contact Natalie Christenson at events@risdc.com to book your special event!

Parking Details:
Valet Parking is available in the evenings after 6:30 during the week, and 5:00 on the weekends. The valet stand is on L Street outside of our main entrance. There is also open-air parking lot, Systems Parking, located across the street from RIS at 1120 23rd Street NW.

One of the few restaurants that we visit on a pretty regular basis. Why? Ris has fresh, interesting food, attractive ambience and excellent service. All at a reasonable price for D.C.

I recently attended the Taste of Iceland event at Ris. As usual, service was attentive, atmosphere was pleasant and the evening went very smoothly.
It's a dangerous statement, but among the courses, the lamb was quite possibly THE BEST lamb I have ever eaten. So tender, the 'steak' knife was unnecessary. I would never have thought to pair "dill" with lamb, but it was a stellar combination. The stark texture contrast of the crunch of the Jerusalem artichokes and roasted almonds was a nice complement to the buttery texture of the perfectly cooked lamb. The shoulder pieces and the loin were pink, moist, and intensely flavorful. The 'dried grapes' were intriguing. The only indication of them being 'dried' was the wrinkly texture of their sk

First, our waiter was excellent despite the rest of the review to follow. Been here many times. Originally was ecstatic about their Pot pie. Then I've been back 5-6 times (even on business lunches) raving about the pot pie. Everytime its either out of season or out of stock. Final straw: I called at 6pm on a Sunday to verify they had the pot pie and available. Reserved using OT for 7, included that I wanted the pot pie. Show up at 7pm. Order. No pot pie. Second choice. Also out.
Waiter was very gracious, but the last time I pursue a restaurant that is clearly too busy or uninterested to fix supply-side problems like these after many attempts.
