Riptide by the BayGood casual diningRight on the Main Street in Fells Point, Riptide was recommended by our hotel for dinner so we gave it a shot. The interior is nicer than most (casual) in the neighborhood. The menu has some traditional MD items like blue crabs, but other items as well. The food was good as was the service, friendly and helpful.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find!I used OpenTable to search the area and found Riptide! We were extremely happy with the restaurant. The food was yummy and affordable!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMJust great.Awesome find on our Memorial Day weekend trip to Baltimore. We loved the place so much we went Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights! Half price bottles of wine on Sundays is perfect for an early evening/ sharing with friends, the food is phenomenal, local, and well-priced. Staff is fantastic. Also live music on many nights (a solo musician). He played awesome 90s and modern stuff when we went.
Oh, and if they have freshwater oysters, GET THEM.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was outstanding --The food was outstanding -- best crab cake sliders ever -- the fish and chips amazing and the bourbon sauce was great. My children loved the crabs and the king crab and we were all very happy with our selections. We celebrated my daughter's college graduation and we are so pleased that we selected Riptide to have our dinner celebration.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWaited a long time for steamedWaited a long time for steamed crabs - over an hour.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and Anbience!Sat at the tables outdoors and enjoyed a wonderfull lunch. Food was very good especially the seafood chowder which was recommended by various reviews. Service was very attentive and offered many suggestions from the menu. I will surely go back and experience something from the dinner menu.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMReal positive surprise. TerrificReal positive surprise. Terrific food at reasonable prices. Seafood chowder rocks3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMHighlight of a visit to BaltimoreThere were no Blue Crabs when we went there, which was a little disappointing. Nevertheless, the food we got were substantial, delicious, and still worth the trip. I definitely liked the crab dip's creaminess and flavor—so much that we ordered more toasts. (A good moneymaking tactic though: Serve only a few toasts so that people fork the money for more.) The beers we ordered were not as cold as we would have wanted.
Even though it's by the bay, the main dining area is at the back of the restaurant, so no view can be enjoyed. Only those outside and by the bar could see the bay, which I have to say, is gorgeous even at night.
I don't really have any quibbles besides these. Riptide by the Bay is a must-visit when you're in Baltimore.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
