RippleDelicious, creative and freshRipple keeps getting better each time we go. Highly recommend. Best thing this visit was nettle pasta - no kidding. .6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite DC RestaurantThey have not missed a beat with the change of chefs. The menu is always interesting and the food lives up to the creative combinations. The cheese and meats are fantastic and the beer and wine selections are great.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWarm, energetic and engaging!Ripple is a lovely experience, The food is delicious and the staff is warm, energetic and engaging. We enjoyed the Ripple experience and will recommend it as a neighborhood gem to friends.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative Delicious Food & CocktailsMy husband and I had a great dining experience at ripple, very attentive and friendly service (thank you Craig!), great cocktail menu and wine list, try the akumal. We really enjoyed the black-eyed pea hummus which was served with delicious lavosh crackers and the stinging nettle tortellini. The decor and the vibe of ripple are awesome, thank you to the staff!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMKnowledgeable serviceI found the menu at Ripple to be slightly intimidating - plenty of words I didn't know, and a long cheese menu. Luckily, our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and made great recommendations. The food was delicious. The cheese recommendations were tasty, the lobster 2nd course was great, and the scallops with andouille sausage were delicious. Between two people, we had a 3 cheese plate, a shared salad, and then each got a 2nd and 3rd course, plus a shared dessert. Our waiter told us it was a good amount of food, but I felt a bit like I needed a wheelbarrow to roll me home at the end of the meal. While the plates are not very large, I could have done with one less dish.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI visited on a weeknight soI visited on a weeknight so that I would be able to experience Ripple in a relaxed setting. I started with one of Ripple's spring cocktail concoctions - the colorblind. it was refreshing and tasty. I tried the buratta appetizer. The buratta was adorned with pesto, pickled ramps and lightly toasted black walnuts. It was served with slices of warm, crusty bread. The combination of flavors and textures was delightful. The gnocchi was my main entrée. The gnocchi was tender, soft and flavorful; the al dente peas were a perfect texture contrast. The lamb ragu was well seasoned. Rachel, the server for my table, recommended an excellent red wine to pair with the gnocchi. I had the baba rhum cake with orange custard -it moist and rich tasting.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous BrunchThis was our first opportunity enjoy brunch at Ripple and it was just as amazing as the dinners we have eaten there in the past. The menu offers a nice variety with a number of interesting egg dishes. To find perfectly poached eggs (as in the Benedict) is a treat and when you add those fabulous little hash brown potato cakes to anything, it is a win! Beautiful salad was shared as a starter and our eggs were enhanced with a dry rose - a terrific meal!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMA "do not miss" dining experienceBest menu in DC for foodies. Great wine and bourbon lists. Our group of four made an evening out of several courses - enjoyed the knowledgeable and friendly staff. While this area is out of our normal Northern Virginia restaurant area, we'll certainly make the trek again for this fabulous food.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMNever a bad meal at RippleWe have been to Ripple many times and have never had a meal we didn't love. There is a new chef now, and she maintains the Ripple tradition of innovation and excellence. The wait staff is friendly and helpful, but not obtrusive. This restaurant is our all-time favorite in Washington.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great meal.Another great meal and social experience at Ripple ! Terrific in every way Our guests from NYC and CA loved it. Thanks again.--Fred & Anne Woodworth5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMScrumptiousLovely adventurous beautifully-presented food, excellent service, had a wonderful time.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMNoise level nearly unbearable--detrNoise level nearly unbearable--detracted from excellent food and superb service5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent MealWent to Ripple for 25th wedding anniversary and had a fantastic dining experience. The food (cheese, meat and desserts) and wine were excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant for people who like wine and food pairings.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience! We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Ripple. The ambiance was lovely and romantic and the staff were beyond attentive. They were knowledgeable about the menu (especially the wine list which is extensive) and provided excellent and friendly service. The food was delicious and the cheese board selections were outstanding! I particulary enjoyed dessert (butterscotch pudding) and look forward to returning to try more of the offerings. The restaurant manager was also very friendly and accommodating and we were impressed with his involvement. Thanks for a lovely night out; we'll be back!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat birthday celebration!Outstanding fresh and innovative dishes. Halibut with fava beans entree done to perfection. Housemade spagetti with tuna not to be missed. Service provided by Aaren and Matt Stein nicely executed.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, rushed serviceFood was terrific, intersting beer selection, delicious semi fredo dessert.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AManother lovely dinner at RippleI love bringing visitors to this walkable-to and excellent restaurant. I love walking by in the afternoon, watching the charcuterie being prepared; there is a sense of purpose about it. My guest this time was not a foodie, and we were absorbed in conversation -- so I appreciated the quiet smile of the waitperson who didn't bother explaining the intricacies of the food. On other occasions, the wait staff has been happy to engage on the subject. As a Marylander fiercely loyal to soft shell crab, I thought Ripple's rendition was excellent, and the "small plate" of one crab, combined with appetizer, was just right for me. Since we've brought older people and work colleagues we also like the ability to hear each other at the table.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMRippleOutstanding locally-sourced food with an extensive winelist filled with unusual selections. Appropriately attentive and knowlegeable wait staff.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother fun mealRipple is a wonderfully inventive restaurant. The menu is interesting and the wine selection is outstanding. Usually we order a bottle of wine but the selection of wine by the glass is so good that we order wines by the class here. The wines served by the glass taste fresh -- not like they were opened a few days ago as at many other restaurants. We took our 9 year old grand daughter who gave Ripple a hearty "thumbs up" which is her best review!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFun food venueSo fresh, such outstanding service from hostess to table personnel, great new and old wine selection...quite surprising!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMRippleThis is just a wonderful, wonderful restaurant.
One, let's call it an issue, is that the wine list is pretty, pretty pricey. Not a lot of choices here under $100 a bottle. That said, it is an excellent wine list and, for that matter, also a great beer list.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent seasonal menuI greatly enjoyed the seasonal variety of the menu at Ripple, which changes frequently. The seafood dishes were especially good. They have a terrific cocktail list - unique, with house-made ingredients but not frou-frou. There was also a stellar beer list and one of the best wine lists that I have seen in a DC restaurant of this price range (with several varieties available by the glass). Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. Good desserts and interesting home-made ice cream too!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place in Cleveland Park!My fiance have gone to Ripple several times for dessert, but finally got there for dinner. The food is amazing, portions are a great size and they have a great variety based on local and seasonal goods. Also, try the charcuterie, as there is a woman with a meat slicer who sits in the front!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice but we need to "wine"We've seen some write-ups and the buzz about the restaurant and were looking forward to trying it. Overall we enjoyed the food, service, and lovely atmosphere. We appreciate that they offer a selection of cheeses, which is a nice touch, and an extensive wine list. Through our many travels and dining experiences, we know that there are plenty of reasonably priced good wines available, and enjoy a bottle with nearly every dinner. But, as a neighborhood restaurant in Cleveland Park, we feel they should offer at least a few selections under $40. Again, overall it was very nice, but the wine prices are a bit high.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe new chef keeps to theThe new chef keeps to the spirit that we love at Ripple, but has given the main courses a more solid footing. Previously, we tended to stick to the smaller dishes and shared charcuterie, but this time we found the main dishes also inviting, striking a balance between innovation and recognizable influences. This remains a favourite restaurant for us when we want a fine meal with original tastes and interesting wine possibilities, but without heaviness.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always have a wonderfulWe always have a wonderful time at Ripple, and this past Saturday night was no different. More than anything else - the food, the wine, the atmosphere - I'm always so impressed with the knowledge of the wait staff. They all have such a deep understanding of everything that goes into each dish, and which wines go best with which dish. It makes the dining experience that much more easy and enjoyable.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot on the North side.We were pleasantly surprised that Ripple exceeded all of our expectations. The service was attentive, but relaxed. Our server provided the perfect guidance and the result was an excellent meal with delightful wine pairings. More than reasonable expense for such an outstanding experience.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMalways delicious and creativeEverything was delicious and interesting. The Rockfish, for me, was a little dry. I'd have liked a thinner slice.
Halibut was very fine. tuna appetizer and ricotta appetizer and desserts were superb.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the atmosphere, theLoved the atmosphere, the food was excellent and our waiter was friendly and knowledgable....A GREAT experience4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting dishesThis is one of my regular spots, mostly because of the great bar and service, and because it is close by. The menu changes regularly and there are always interesting things to choose. They have a great wine list as well.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA Very Pleasant SurpriseThe may be the most overlooked fine restaurant in DC. Its name doe not to prepare you for such ambitious and sophisticated cooking. And the ambiance is more down-scale than the cooking. But all in all, certainly as good or better than its much better-known neighbor, Palena Cafe. Well worth a trip across town.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe thoroughly enjoyed ourWe thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We were well taken care of and I would recommend highly. I had an appetizer of lobster , morels and fresh peas that was exquisite.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMripple lives up to expectationMy partner and I have been big fans of this neighborhood spot in years past and had the opportunity to dine here tonight; we were not disappointed in the least. Bright distinct flavors punctuated menu and challenging dishes like octopus showcased the kitchen's expertise. Service was engaging, knowledgable, concise and went beyond the call. The wine list is eclectic extensive and well priced and the staff know it well. It reminds me of so many of the great neighborhood restaurants I frequented in my many years in San Francisco.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI thought the servers' relaxedI thought the servers' relaxed dress code and alternative rock playlist kind of clashed with the restaurant theme of "local and sustainable/upscale-ish," but everything was really really tasty and unique. The standards were amazing and the adventures were delicious.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food, beautifulDelicious food, beautiful presentation, knowledgeable and thoughtful staff, and a wonderful ambience! I look forward to returning.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFun and deliciousI took a friend here for her birthday. They made her feel very special! The food was exceptional - from the olive appetizer to the lamp entree. Dessert was lovely. The service was excellent and the waiter was good at selecting wines we would enjoy.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMI went for an early weekdayI went for an early weekday dinner with a friend. It was nearly empty! We got to choose from the grilled cheese, bar, and dining room menus. Too many choices! The portions are small but well made. The staff was amazing.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Meal, Great Experience! We had a great experience here. Wine and Beer list is impressive. The locally sourced ingredients were a plus. Different menu options made it hard to decide on what to order (which we consider a good problem). We opted out of the cheese and charcuterie but that seemed to be a popular choice with everyone else. Highly Recommend.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderful risottoi have always loved the creative, locally grown dishes at Ripple, but the quinoa/farro/wild rice risotto with a variety of wild mushrooms was out of this world.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFoodie Find, Cool VibeI love this place! Food as good as anyplace in the city, fun vibe but you can hear yourself talk, not stuffy, and fabulous house cocktails. This was a repeat visit, and even though we love to try all the newest places in town - we keep gravitating back to Ripple.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect place to celebrate/splurgeThey seem to have a new chef for the summer and she is even better than the last one! Crazy good, totally unique food, and an amazing cocktail list with an incredibly talented bartender. Go for a special occasion.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional Service and FoodTruly remarkable service. Staff at Ripple have exceptional knowledge and communicate it/make excellent suggestions if you don't know what to order. During our experience, after an unfortunate "miss" where our appetizers were not served, the "miss" was more than made up for when the bill came. I've been coming here for a while, and will continue to do so. The place hasn't skipped a beat with the new chef, and the service is still outstanding.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to Ripple to celebrateWe went to Ripple to celebrate my birthday, and it was great. The restaurant had some lovely decor-the red ripples in the wall to the black and white photos set the scene very well, clean and easy. The service was impeccable, our waiter was very kind and attentive, always coming and checking up on us, very informative of the menu and the seasonal changes that occur with the menu. As for the food, it was delicious. The sunchoke soup, and the risotto was finger-licking good. I would definetly come back here for another taste of this lovely place.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLooks like a successful transitionRipple's new chef continues where Logan left off. Inventive combinations and new twists on traditional dishes. Some delicate and interesting, others heartier, but nearly all succeed.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMI only wish I could've broughtI only wish I could've brought Flyte home with me when I left Nashville. I'm still raving about it!2/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
