It was nice to be in a restaurant with a staff the knows which side to place and which side to clear. That seems to be uncommon in the Portland dining scene. If you like onion rings, this is the place to eat them...."

  • "The food here is amazing. Steaks are perfect and melt in your mouth. The onion rings are superb as an appetizer, and I can't say enough good things about the lemon cheesecake dessert (huge portion!)! Service from our server sadly didn't match the food though, as he was less than stellar."

  • "I took my husband, his mom, and his sister for a "surprise" birthday dinner. It was a 5-star evening all around. We were greeted cordially as soon as we walked through the door and shown to our table a few minutes later. because I had made our reservations on-line we were treated to some really good onion rings. Our waitress, Michelle, was very attentive throughout our meal, she made the event even more special with her humor and good nature. We all ordered the tenderloin and, to a person, enjoyed every bite -- it was very tender and cooked to perfection. Because it was Dan's birthday he was offered the dessert of his choice. Crime Brûlée was the choice and it was also very good. We've decided Ringside will be our Go-to restaurant."

Our server was very pleasant but the service was very slow. My wine was delivered when we were finished eating and we were tempted to ask for our dessert to go because it took so long to receive it."

  • "Went to dinner Saturday night. Had a reservation. Received comp order of onion rings for booking on line. That was very nice. Salad was very good, but no French dressing available. That was odd. My Surf & Turf was not what I had expected. I had a baked potato that was way over baked. The inside was brown. The Surf consisted of 2 large shrimp and the Turf was 3 small pieces of steak. While it was all prepared well and delivered with excellence, it was sad. Really, for $29+ 4 or 5 shrimp and maybe 1 or 2 more chunks of meat could be added. I could over look the way over done potato then, but all of it together, was sad. "

  • "I relied on the Ringside reputation when choosing a spot to take my elderly mother to lunch. The ambiance was fine, but for the empty room. The service was attentive and timely. The glass pour list was a C-. The food was pretty mediocre. It seemed like the kitchen was indifferent to the details. There would have been no way my mother could have eaten that club sandwich, with the hardened (not toasted, just hardened) bread slices. It seemed to me that the Ringside was relying too strongly on its reputation and is dismissive of its customer base in this location. The bright spot of the meal was the friendly service."

  • "If you are in the mood for a fine cut of meat this is the place to go but be prepared to pay for it. Because we were new guests they gave us a plate of their onion rings on the house as an appatizer. Very yummy and a nice gesture. I had a cocktail with Mango and cinnamon. Creative and tasty. My husband and I were both in the mood for the prime rib which was spot on. I had garlic mashers and my husband had the cheesey croquette with it. Both nicely prepared. The waiter asked us twice if we wanted a salad but we knew we would not be able to finish our meal after the onion rings. I think asking once was enough. The side of broccoli was average. Next time I will try the Filet Mignon so I have room desert too. I bet it is good. "

  • "This was a wonderful find for a business dinner for three out-of-town businessmen. The food was delicious. Onion rings are a must! One party member had surf and turf, a second ordered a small filet, and the third had the lobster tail. All were delicious. Service was slow, but very warm and friendly. The only negative would be the host staff. They were somewhat cold, almost rude, and very elitist. If I managed the restaurant, that would need to be changed immediately, as they are the first impression a diner receives about the restaurant. Attitudes definitely need adjusting there! Otherwise, five stars!"

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our RingSide experience. John was a wonderful waiter and very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We were surprised with a free appetizer for making a reservation. We had onion rings and split a salad to start. The salad was quite large for being split in half. My husband enjoyed the prime rib and I had the stuffed chicken. We ended the evening with amazing desserts. The peanut butter torte was amazing but a little too rich for my taste. We don't live in the area but would definitely recommend RingSide to our friends. "
