  • "We had such a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary at Ringside East. We were welcomed so graciously, food was terrific, service was superb. The menu wishing us a Happy 49th, was a great touch, we have added the photo that our server took and are going to have it framed. "

  • "The restaurant was thoughtful and had our table ready. They even printed special menus with Happy Birthday at the top (it was my mom's birthday). The server was kind and prompt. The ambiance is wonderful with the fireplace and low lights. The food is very overpriced. A mediocre burger for $14 is the cheapest thing on the menu. My mom got soggy halibut with mashed potatoes for $36. This place is great for happy hour in the bar, but I'd steer clear of the restaurant."

  • "The food is always spectacular. The service is excellent. The price is high but well worth it. We continue to keep coming back."

  • "For business meetings and entertaining customers, this is a good East side steakhouse. The West side Ringside has a much better atmosphere, but if you don't want to deal with traffic and downtown congestion the food is just as good here."

  • "Another family meal that everyone was happy......food,beverages and service excellent as always."

  • "We have been going to Ringside for years and every time it's the same wonderful food, great service and just an all around great place to go. Whether you are there for happy hour or dinner you will not be disappointed."

  • "Ringside East is always a place to go for a quiet dinner with quality service and food. It is nice to see the same servers from visit to visit and there is always the expectation of good drinks, delicious meat and a variety of choices."

  • "We took out friend Tony here for a birthday dinner. Our table was ready on time and we were seated right a way. The table was on the small size for 4 people. We ordered a seafood sampler for 2 and we had to remove our wine glasses in order to accommodate the platter and our 4 plates. I waited more than 10 minutes for my drink and the waiter didn't come back to take our dinner order for about 15 minutes. If they were short handed waitstaff all they had to do was say something and we would have understood, but the lag time between courses was unacceptable. I will be going back to try this restaurant again and I'm hoping this was a one off evening."

  • "The ambience and the service were very good, a true steak house... and it's a nice short drive from downtown to see the beautiful golf course and trees! The prime rib could have been much juicier - one wants to see a little shimmering "au jus" pour out a bit when you cut into the steak and not depend on adding your own au jus to get this effect. And the lamb chops were tough. Also, the pear and apple crisp was much too sweet. Loved the side dishes, though."

  • "Setting: My husband and I went to RingSide - Eastside for my birthday, and had a wonderful time! This eastside location is less formal than the westside, but still has an upscale ambiance that is appropriate for special occasions. Our booth was tucked back, private, and quiet. We got prompt service that was timely - coming about when we needed something, leaving us alone when we didn't. It was perfect. Food: I got the filet mignon oscar style, and it was awesome! Perfectly cooked at medium rare. My husband got the prime rib, and he had the same story! We also enjoyed the french onion soup and the apple/pear cobbler. Both were wonderful. No complaints here! It was an all around fabulous experience."

  • "We enjoyed ourselves alot. It was a bit loud, but then again it was peak dinner hour on a Saturday night. My cocktail was weak for $11, but everyone's food was delicious."

  • "Very friendly and helpful staff. We were able to take our time deciding what we wanted and the chef worked with us on one of our parties sensitivity to garlic. The food was delicious."

  • "They are such a classic and so good here. We made our reservation through Open Table and the chef sent us a small order to start things off, which was an unexpected surprise. Nice touch! Put us in a good mood along with the two martini's. Had the petite fliet and it was delicious. Other samplings at our table included the lamb special (it was okay, not great), and the sauteed mushrooms. We had a nice birthday celebration here."

  • "We've been to the Ringside - Uptown, but this was our first time to the Eastside. We went because it's Portland Dining Month. We shared a plate of onion rings (fantastic) and had the PDX prix fixe 3 - course dinners; my wife had the stuffed chicken and I had the Willapa Bay oysters. We both enjoyed our entree. We'll be back probably for Happy Hour this spring to enjoy the outdoors."

  • "Gorgeous dining areas, the fire was a beautiful touch, if a bit warm for me personally. The service was absolutely exceptional - our waiter was friendly, engaging and very knowlegable (thanks Bob!) The food was perfectly prepared, flavorful and the portions were very generous. It was a really lovely dining experience."

  • "The Ringside is always great, I usually dine downtown but decided to try this one and was not disappointed. Service and food were good and the Onion Rings, as always were great."

  • "My husband had never been and I and a girlfriend have had appetizers in the bar. The "famous" onion rings were tasty but very greasy. Onion soup needed lots and lots of salt. My husband had oysters (I know, in a steak house) they were heavily breaded and greasy. He said the oysters were good once you peeled off the breading. Fries were nothing special, just oily fries. Balsamic vinaigrette was not good and did not care for their house dressing, blue cheese and french combo. My chicken breast was the best I've ever had and the creme brulee was fine. Very dark on our side of the dining room. Too dark to see well. Our server, Sheila, was fantastic. Best part of the whole experience. We won't be back. At those prices everything should be good."

  • "Took my son and his wife out for his 25th birthday on Saturday the T-bones were great the new York steak was great but I ordered the 6oz beef tenderloin (FILET MIGNON) the taste was not there paid 38.00 dollars for my meal ate half and left the rest my husband gave me some of his T-bone that was great."

  • "I set our reservations two weeks in advance. I even called to confirm them. When we arrived we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. What's the point of a reservation? I understand that "things happen". However, no apology was given and the hostess's (male) reaction was as though we should be happy we even got a seat. Food was good."

  • "My wife sent her steak back and the manager brought it back on a tiny bread dish, tacky! She looked my wife up and down, rolled her eyes, and asked if it looked ok. We told her we were taking it home because our dinner took over two hours to arrive. We explained it to our server Bob, who was wonderful, and that's when the manager returned. She gave the fakest apology I ever heard, condescending and rude. She eventually comped the whole check although I offered to pay. It was a special occasion and we were looking forward to it, but it was ruined. We did enjoy the happy hour in the lounge and the server Bob was wonderful."

  • "We booked a reservation to celebrate Valentine's Day and our 22nd anniversary. As we were seated at our table, we were handed the menus, and a "Happy 22nd Anniversary" was printed (in lovely script & colored gold) across the top of the menus. That was really a nice touch. And we were offered a 'free' dessert for this very special occasion. During the summer, we love to come in an have a few drinks and some of their wonderful onion rings!"
