Helpful in explaining the menu. I requested a quiet table where we could discuss business and that is exactly what we got. We were greeted with a congratulation and were told they had a great table for us ( it was perfect!). This is an exceptionally well-run and staffed restaurant. We never sat around wondering where our food or drinks were; in fact the staff seemed to know what we needed before we did! Food was very good, with only the halibut being just a shade over-cooked but very acceptable. And we could actually enjoy each other's company without shouting at each other because of the noise level and loud music that is endemic in many "trendy" Portland restaurants. We had one of the best waitpersons who skillfully balanced being attentive vs. hovering. They offered three different entrees and within our group we tried all three. I had the beef medallions...they were done to perfection. My husband had the chicken special and raved about it. We had the theatre special, ie: three courses for 36.00. The tenderloin medallions were very well prepared and extremely tasty, the shrimp was ok, but not great, but not bad. It came with seasoned mashed potatoes which were also very good. Ringside is the "steakhouse" for seafood: Simple, straightforward preparation without a lot of fuss that demands impeccably fresh fish. Ringside provides it. A salad of red and golden beets was wonderful, and desserts including creme brulee and a variation on the theme of chocolate mousse were satisfying but not over-indulgent. Friendly, professional service. Also, were seated under a speaker...the music was VERY loud at times lat our table due to this. We were told it could not be turned down so we endured through it instead of moving after we had already started our meal.
