  • "Mr. Rigsby never disappoints. The menu is almost peasant in it's simplicity and beautifully prepared with excellent ingredients and a terrific range. I had a Bolognese gnocchi that my Sicilian grandfather would have approved. The "Boss" walks around, greets customers and is very friendly and helpful. Plus, the wait staff is really on the ball and pleasant, without being obsequious. Rigsby's has a great energy and is in a great location, a very nice experience all round"

  • "Rigsby's has been a consistent favorite for many years. Our dinner did not disappoint. The scallops were delicious and the lamb and quail were done perfectly as well. Only the prosciutto pizza was perhaps a little less than exciting. An heirloom tomato garden salad was wonderful too. The chocolate mousse and molten chocolate cake were amazing. Our only complaint (it was a Saturday night and there were several very large groups) was the noise level, which made it difficult to have a conversation over the din. But we were very impressed with the service, which was fast and attentive despite the busyness."

First time spending time in the Short North area and after looking through all the restaurant choices online, Rigsby's Kitchen seemed the best choice for the type of restaurant we were looking for - upscale, gourmet, and something different. The front desk clerk at our hotel even said Rigsby's was an excellent choice. We were not disappointed. Excellent service with a table near the window. The soup special - chilled cucumber soup with dill was delicious. I could have gone for another bowl. :-) The sweet corn risotto was delicious, too. One of the best I have ever had. The scallops were good. Those who had dessert enjoyed the rice pudding. Give this restaurant a try."

  • "My boyfriend and I dined here for the first time during restaurant week. The waiter was wonderful. One of the few servers I've ever had that knows the right balance of conversation and leaving the table alone. We never ran out of water and he always checked back with us to make sure everything tasted good. The restaurant was very busy, however all of our food came out fairly fast. We did eat off the restaurant week menu and everything was delicious! The calamari was slightly too salty for me, but my boyfriend thought it was fine. Would love to dine here again in the future."

  • "I try to have at least one meal every time I'm in Columbus. This time I was able to introduce 2 new people to Rigsby's among our group of 7. Kent Rigsby was there taking kudos and he deserved them . The remodel is attractive and my only complaint is the noise level which can intrude. You can always tell when the food is exceptional, people stop talking when the plates hit the table. That was pretty exceptional; for us as we were there to plan the future of our association and there were some hard facts to face. Such an innovative kitchen with its seasonal changes means that I always have new dishes to taste and new thoughts for when I get into my kitchen at home. Thank you Kent and thanks to your team for great food and service."

Our client showed up with several additional people and our larger party was accommodated within a minute with absolutely no fuss. I was so impressed. The food was really special--dessert was truly memorable. The service was prompt and unobtrusive. It's not too noisy compared with other Short North restaurants. The décor is relaxed, a bit more lax than the prices you pay. I would recommend to friends for a quality dinner, but not for price to value ratio."

  • "This restaurant is chef owned (Kent Rigsby) and operated and he can frequently be seen in the dining area making sure everything is running smoothly. The menu is packed with scrumptious and varied goodies and the breads are made on site and are varied, being served with oil. Be careful not to fill up on them as they are so good but you want to leave room for the meal that follows. the meats, poultry, and seafood dishes are exquisite, as are the pastas. The appetizers and salads are also phenomenal. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would be surprised if you did not enjoy it."

  • "As always, food was great (except for caeser salad dressing = none of us enjoyed it). Sat down, ordered a cocktail & wine and proceeded to wait over 20 min. to get them and the restaurant was only 1/3 full! Our server took forever to come back and take our food order. We had to ask for S & P for the table. Mid meal, we requested more bread and he said "certainly", as he cleared half of our bread plates away!!! We brought a party of five because our 3 guests had only heard about Rigsby's and had never been there. The lack of good service was very disappointing."

  • "The oyster appetizer was amazing. Overall, the food was very good. Maybe its because we were there during gallery hop (although it wasn't completely booked up), but the service was terrible. I went with a group of 6 and the server was consistently bad. He was slow to taking orders, only brought 5 wine glasses when we asked for 6, didn't bring enough forks and we had to repeatedly ask for a 6th, and he forgot to place the order for one of the meals. He never apologized or even acknowledged it beyond saying the last meal would be right up. Once the dish arrived, it was incredibly hot and the seafood was overcooked and chewy. I would assume this was because the chefs rushed it."

  • "I took my mother-in-law to Rigsby's for a special night out for her. I'm used to high-end San Francisco restaurants, so comparably speaking, this was nice, but nothing special. The prices were high for the mid-west, but ok. The service was very good. The wine list matched the standard of the food. The noise level was dreadful! It is a cavernous space. I think the noise level helps keep a fast turnover in diners. It is certainly not somewhere to go to enjoy conversation. Be prepared to shout."

  • "I've been to Rigsby's before & enjoyed it but this time it started with no reception for our group as well as several others. Several parties were waiting in the doorway & bar & everyone was asking each other if there was a hostess? After actually walking back in to the dining area to see if reception have moved & then waiting 5 more minutes, we asked a waiter if there was a receptionist & he rudely answered everyone was waiting & to be patient. After 10 minutes a frazzled man asked us if we had a reservation which we did & we were seated. I had the pork meatloaf special & it was good while others had pasta which they enjoyed. Wine selection & portions were good. The actual dining experience was ok but it is hard to overcome a poor start."

The scallops were very large and tender, very citrusy. The lamb dish was ok. Dessert was a flat warm chocolate cake with no other flavors resonating. We had to send back a glass of wine that was off also. Overall, somewhat disappointing from past visits and compared to other venues. "

  • "6 family members dined here to celebrate a college graduation. We ordered apps, salads, entrees, dessert and plenty of beverages! All was great! After 3 1/4 hours we were asked to leave because people were waiting for our table. Never has this happened to us anywhere. I understand restaurants scheduling but when you have groups of 6 or more you're going to be there longer. At the time we were asked to leave, I had just received a glass of wine that took at least 10 minutes to get. We had just finished dessert and had also, just paid the bill - with a very generous tip! Another 10 minutes and everyone would have walked away happy. Bad ending to a great dinner. I couldn't even drink my wine but we paid for it!"
