  • "We tried out Ric's Grill for the first time after not being able to get at reservation at The Keg. We were pleasantly surprised and will be back for sure. The Prime Rib was top notch and the sides fantastic. When the waitress approached the table she was quiet awkward but friendly enough and got the job done. We had an early reservation so the restaurant was very quiet. Nice decor and convenient location."

  • " Food was quite good - service was disappointing. The restaurant was virtually empty (5 PM) and we had to go looking for our waitress twice - once to get her to bring the wine we ordered (it was sitting on the bar) and again to get her to take our order. When she did bring the wine it wasn't what we ordered - and she didn't say anything. When asked she indicated this was what they were substituting. The manager did drop by later and ask how things went. We were a big group so I didn't want to make a fuss. We did have a birthday in our group and the manager comp'd desert - on top of the $25 dinner credit that they provide to the birthday diner. That said, it wasn't in recognition of the poor service - just a nice gesture on his part!"

Our waitress was friendly and efficient. The menu had a great selection to choose from and our meal was excellent.   • "Service was terrible. Waited over 1/2 hour for drinks. Had to ask another waitress to see where our drinks were. Waited almost 1-1/2 hours for food. All meals arrived cold. Salmon was overcooked and dry. Steaks were tough. Chicken was so salty, it was inedible. Kids pasta tasted like it was cooked in dishwater and kids refused to eat it. Our "Father's Day Celebration" turned into a disaster as everyone in our party complained about their meals and service. Although Manager knocked 50% off the bill, the $156 we paid was still too much for the terrible food. Will never eat there again."

  • "We have used Ric's many times for group functions however the menu has become slightly smaller and the prices a bit higher. While the service is fairly decent the length of time it takes to get your meal us too long and so Ric's has become our last choice on the list as it you cannot get in and out in an hour even when dining at a non-peak time. The food is decent enough as well but nothing over the top spectacular. If you are not under a time restriction this may be a place to choose but for a lunchtime visit, Ric's is not the best choice."

Right from the get go, we were treated amazing, even pointing out alternatives to allow my wife the best experiences. Thank you for a great first experience. We will be back. "

  • "I took my two kids to Ric's for my son's 13th Birthday. As a single mom, eating out is a special thing and we went there as I had learned that Ric's provides a free birthday meal/up to $25 off. My son is typical teen and can eat a ton of MEAT! He had a huge steak and it was also Monday $5 lobster tail night, so great value all around. I was pleasantly surprised that they had an all-inclusive kids menu, because my 10 year old rarely eats her whole meal. The food was good, although the steak wasn't the best quality or cut. Great wine menu at Ric's though, and that was a plus. Excellent service, very attentive. The fresh baked bread with butter to start is SOOOO good! Thank you Ric's!"

  • "We were looking for a good steak so only went to OpenTable under Cuisine/steaks. Have been to Ric''s before and knew we would not be disappointed. My daughter and I decided to share the boursin steak with merlot reduction and the goat cheese salad with fresh berries and candied pecans. Both were delicious. My husband had the same steak. I liked that they split our order for us instead of bringing us an extra plate. All plates came beautifully arranged with a nice assortment of vegetables accompanying the steaks. They were also very generous when they split the salad for us and a nice surprise was the gooseberries in it. Good selection of wines too. Will definitely be back."

He made some very good suggestion and in the end we were all very happy with our meals.   • "Honestly, since the explosion of great local restaurants in the dining scene in Calgary, we have stayed away from going to chains and once again, we were reminded "why" we have done so. Ric's Grill had great ambience - although truthfully, am not fan of really dark interiors but that's beside the point. When you pay steaks at a price point of at least $30, one would expect at least an aged and tender meat but that's not what we got. It was tough and lacks flavour. It was not bad in a sense that "you can't eat it kind of thing" but I guess we were just let down considering that we are in a steakhouse after all. Service was ok. But yes, it might take us a while for us to consider going back."

Unfortunately, the restaurant interior seems dated and the service was a little unprofessional. Plus, parking was more of a hassle than expected. Nice to try, but it's doubtful we'll go back."

  • "Had reservations for 5:30 to celebrate my boys birthday, when wde arrived we were greeted promptly. There were perhaps 3 tables that were occupied. We ordered some appetisers: Coconut shrimp and Calimari, along with our main dish. The apetisers arrived rather slowly, as the restaurant began filling with customers. We waited for the main courses to arrive while seeing other patrons, who arrived after us, receiving their orders and leaving after they had finished their meal. We waited for over an hour for the main courses. As usual the meal was very good. This was the 2nd time this wait happened to us. Although the food is good we left with the attitude that it is last time we will be coming to Ric's."

  • "My wife and I went to Rick's to celebrate her birthday, we use to go there all the time a few years ago, but it doesn't feel the same. I would of said that Rick's was on the higher end of steak houses, somewhere between Cactus Club and Ruth Chris, now I would out it blow The Keg or Earls. The food is still good, but the ambiance and service is below what you would expect for the prices they charge."

  • "Me and some coworkers visited Ric's Grill after work.We arrived a bit early but they didn't mind and were able to seat us right away. Most of us either got the escargot or the calamari to start, both of them were so good. The escargot was pretty standard just floating in butter, and the calamari wasn't greasy. For the main most of us either got the filet mignon or the New York strip loin, both of which were done perfectly. The dessert, a goat cheesecake was pretty good. Not outstanding but definitely enjoyable. I loved my experience, probably wouldn't return on a regular day because the price points are pretty high, but if you don't mind a high price point I strongly recommend it!! Great service and "facny" ambiance."

  • "Went to Ric's for a "Girl's Night Out". None of us had been to Ric's before. We all loved it. Our server, Travis, was attentive and personable. Each of us order different appetizers, entrees and desserts. Escargot was awesome and the spinach salad, although simple, had the right mix of flavours and texture. My friend loved the addition of beets on the salad. Filet, steak and chicken entrees were done perfectly. Only downside to dessert was that they ran out of their cheesecake, so one friend ordered creme brulee instead. The custard was a bit heavy on the egg taste, but it was still good. We'll be back!"

  • "11 adults & 2 kids-duel b-day dinner - Big Taste menu.We arrived being greeted by many staff close by.Service was incredible! Nameless waiter had ESP anytime we wanted. Family consensus is:appetizers of escargot, coconut shrimp & clam chowder were delightfully scrumptious. Main dishes(filet/salmon/chicken & ribs) were tender & melted in your mouth, along with savory sauces. Stuffed potato-perfect consistency & flavored with bacon & cheese. Dessert, we fought for second bites of the fabulous cappuccino ice cream and chocolate cakes. Crème Brule and goat's cheese cake was good just not outstanding with taste and texture. Great choice of specialty beers & hard drinks enriched with fine alcohol. AWESOME dining experience!"

  • "Went out for a ladies night and stared it out with dinner at Rics. Was very glad that we made reservations as there were already people gathering there early on Saturday night. We had a great server who warned us happy hour was ending so we could order appys right away - was a great deal! We enjoyed the rest of our meal with only one minor complaint, when we received our creme brûlée, it lacked creaminess and had more of a over cooked texture; but not a big enough complaint to deter me from going back. All in all very nice eats and atmosphere!"

  • "Went for three course meal for Big Taste 2014. I left a comment in my Open table reservation that we were coming for Big Taste. When we were seated with regular menus and requested the Big Taste menu they were not particularly friendly about it. If you don't want to participate in the festival then you shouldnt. Food otherwise was good although both the chicken Neptune and filet lignin were on the salty side. Overall nice ambience - a fancier place to take clients or family for special occasion. Nice menu and wine list."

  • "Went for my first time on a Saturday night. Despite the very cold weather that night, the restaurant was full which suggests people think it's worth the effort! We did have a bit of a wait for a table (even though we had a reservation), and we never had our waters refilled until we asked for it, but everthing else overall was very good, including the ambience, the friendliness of the staff, the freshness of the salad, the quality of the entree."
