I heard Rick Erwin's was just as good as the high end chain steakhouses, with the small restaurant feel. They were absolutely right. The service, food and atmosphere were outstanding. I had to change my reservation at the last minute and they accommodated us very quickly. During the middle of the meal, the owner was walking around to all of the tables, and thanked everyone for visiting the restuarant. That personal touch was not lost on my group. Having dined there many times before, we knew it was the only place to have our last night in Greenville dinner, since it is in fact the best steakhouse in town. With so much going on downtown it's nice to be able to just drive up to the front door. We had a table by the window and enjoyed watching the foot traffic. It was our anniversary and the waiter treated us by saying Happy Anniversary....a nice touch. Everyone was exceptional and we will certainly be back! We have never had anything less than stellar service and always an unforgettable steak. This time I was really in the mood for fish and I could have not been happier. As a matter of fact, not being able to decide between the sea bass or the tuna our server suggested to try a half serving of each, which was perfect. Both tasted very fresh fresh, were prepared to specifications (I like my fish less done that more) and has excellent accompaniments.

The small wedge, split in half, was an ample serving for each of us, and we still took home half of each of the half-size sides and half of the large slice of cheesecake. (Kudos, by the way, on sourcing the cheesecake from New York. I can't remember the last time I had an honest-to-goodness real (i.e., *dense*) New York cheesecake anywhere in the south.
