  • "found an OK place in Ricardo's. If you want a quiet place to have a business meeting or a special date, go to Ricardo's. since it's off the beaten path on the North End it doesn't seem to get very busy. Service was a little slow, but then again, we weren't in a hurry."

  • "We went last Thursday night and had reservations for 8:30 pm. The service was great. We did order a bottle of wine and they did not have the one we ordered but were quick to make another suggestion. I had one of the veal specials and the temperature was warm and had to send it back to reheat. The flavor was good once it was reheated. Both my friends had seafood dishes and they were excellent. All and all a good meal. I would return and recommend to others. "

  • "The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere with friendly service. The restaurant was somewhat small and pretty filled which caused it to be a bit noisy but, not too bad. We also went on a Saturday night so, that was expected. The prices were extremely reasonable and not expensive at all for the North end. The food was just allright though but good for the prices. Overall, it was a good restaurant to try in the North end and I would recommend it."

  • "The service was wonderful. Everyone at my table was happy with their food and we all dine out alot around the country for work. Very low key and good."

  • "A group of friends and cousins helped me celebrate my birthday. We had reservations for 10 and the table was set up and ready for us when we walked in right at our reservation time. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We were constantly asked if we needed anything and when we did need something, a server was always available immediately. The bar was perfect for guests that arrived early. Every person in the party raved about how delicious the food (apps included) were. It was the perfect pick for a delicious group dinner very reasonably priced in the North End."

  • "We heard from friends how good Riccardos was but never had a chance to experience it until this past week. My fiancé and I were extremely impressed. The food was incredible. The Portabello mushroom appetizer was amazing. I got the Rack of Lamb which was cooked to perfection and my fiancé got the Sea Bass which was wonderful. Our server was very friendly and attentive. He answered all our questions and was very helpful. They also have a great wine selection. We will definately go back again and recommend this place to family and friends. I never write reviews but this place was so deserving of one!"

  • "Great experience. Took my family to Ricarrdo's for my Dad 's 85th birthday. We got great personal service. Mike our waiter was attentive and knowledgable of how food prepared. He overheard that it was my Dad's birthday and alerted the owner who personally stopped by our table and offered complimentary after dinner drinks. One of the most enjoyable birthday dinners we've had. Thank you Riccardo"

  • "Riccardo's is our neighborhood place. Food is consistently good and it's perfectly located for us. Regrettably the service was as bad as it gets. We were in no rush and appreciated the time to socialize. After the initial intro by our waiter, we literally had to ask anyone who passed the table to find our waiter thereafter. 20 minutes before he took our order, another 25 minutes waiting for apps and on. We gave up on bread. Table of 4 next to us were seated after us and paid the check before we saw our entrees. Wait staff get swamped-it happens. However the waiter not once apologized and it was almost as if he thought we wouldn't notice. Really the only bad experience we have had over dozens of visits..."

  • "We picked this place on a whim on Open Table about three hours before dinner. We got there and were seated promptly. The staff was very friendly and the waitress was excellent. We ordered a bottle of wine, which she brought immediately and was very nice, and we ordered appetizers and pasta dishes. All of the food was delicious; I was full but I couldn't stop eating! We would definitely come back and have already suggested it to many of our friends. One of the best places I've been in the North End for Italian."

  • "Riccardo's was an excellent choice for our son's birthday dinner. It was a Sunday night so a little quiet, which made it perfect and intimate for our party of 5. The staff was terrific and so was the food."

  • "Food was reviewed as nothing special and great. Took a chance and tried it. Not happy with choice, it was nothing special. The pork lion was dry and the sauce was soup like. The roasted potatoes the dish came with were more like boiled. The other two plates we had were ok - fair, Again nothing special."

  • "We booked this for Christmas party and it was a disappointment!! The food was at best mediocre. There was a party on the second floor and way too much noise. Many employees were sitting at the bar chatting away and laughing loudly. The service was not great, I had the wrong appetizer and the wine was spilled over the table. I will not go back there and will not recommend."

  • "Riccardo's has become our neighborhood go-to restaurant. We had family in town this weekend and instead of doing the usual search for a place to take them, we stuck to Riccardo's. This place is consistent, fairly priced and the service is always very good. We never regret coming here...."

  • "Our group of eight all agreed that Riccardo's was a great choice for our annual get together in the North End. Great service, a menu that made everyone happy, and very tasty meatballs make this a restaurant we will most likely return to next year."

  • "We chose Riccardos for a special occasion for a friend. They have a nice selection of red wine by the glass, so we ordered two. We ordered shrimp with spinach and tomatoes, eggplant parm, and veal stuffed with various cheeses and topped with tomato and mushroom sauce. Everything was outstanding in flavor, although I was disappointed not to have sides of homemade pasta, instead of store bought. After dinner, we were discussing cannolis and suddenly there was a plate on our table with a trio of mini cannolis. They were delicious! This was followed by a chocolate liqueur. We felt as though we were guests in someone's home, which was a lovely experience. I would go back again!"

  • "The food was good, nothing exceptional but good. However it was a very expensive night as there are many hidden charges and everything is a la carte. It is the first North End restaurant that I have been to that does not serve a small side of pasta nor does it come with any vegtable. I got the chicken piccata and it came with absolutely nothig. Just 2 small pieces of chicken. My husbands shrimp dish came with nothing either and he ordered a side of pasta. It was very small and they charged $9.00 for it. So needless to say to get a couple of glasses of wine, an appetizer, a small salad (also $9.00), dinner with no side of veg or pasta is not what I expect for the North End."

  • "We had a terrific experience at Ricardo's. Service was prompt and attentive. We ordered two appetizers - caprese and the stuffed meatballs, and both were excellent. Our foursome had a good sampling off the regular menu, and I had the veal broccalatini (special) - all were excellent. My veal was cooked to perfection, having a slight pink tinge and super tender; it was stuffed with proscuitto and mozzarella. It was served with a side of penne w/ house made marinara sauce. My wife had the chicken piccata, which was also excellent. We had a $48 bottle of Valpolacella, and we finished with (1) grappa, (1) sambucca, (1) cannoli, and (2) cappuccinos. The bill came in at roughly $55/person - not bad for that type of dining."

  • "We've been here a few times before and have had some good and not-great experiences, but overall I think this is probably one of the best bets for reasonably priced meals in the North End. This time was very good, and we'll likely be back."

  • "I frequently go to the North End and went to Riccardos last weekend. The service was great and food was decent. Not my favorite restaurant in Boston, but we were seated immediately so that was a plus. Would go again if I couldn't get reservations at another restaurant."

  • "Noise level quiet due to no other dinners. Prices seem high compared to food quantity. Alcohol prices were also high. Pricing should be reduced to attract more patrons."

  • "Booked a table for 9 at 7:00 pm last Saturday night. We had a drink at the bar, where the atmosphere was great. When we were shown to our table, we were brought upstairs to an Empty room, then parties with young children were seated beside us. SOS much for atmosphere, but plenty of noise. We were all paying for sitters so we could have a fun adult night out !"

  • "Went here with two families and food was delicious! Made a reservation and table was ready on time--which given the fact that it was the same day as the Red Sox parade was incredible. Great service! Would highly recommend!"

  • "Our waiter Mike was great and paced our dinner perfectly. We told him we were going to Josh Groban concert and he kept track of our time for us. He described dinner specials but also pointed a few of his favorites. The dinner special was veal and he switched out for chicken to accommodate two of our diners. Tried the squash blossom app - delicious and mushroom app - we were using our bread to finish the sauce. I'll be going back to the North End and now I have a new favorite."

  • "Had a party of 7 and we were seated upstairs where there really is no 'atmosphere' - but there were two other very large parties upstairs that were obnoxiously loud, one in particular. It was so bad that after the appetizer we were reseated downstairs. Unforunately the owner made a snippy comment about having to reseat us because of the noise - not cool. Food was mediocre at best. I ordered the branzino - there was no mention that it was going to be covered in red sauce.....and you could actually see the grease in the red sauce. Hugely disapointing evening."

  • "We had visitors that remembered the North End from years ago and wanted a traditonal resturant experience. Riccardo's filled the bill. Good food, great service and reasonable prices. It was a bit loud and clearly a popular spot, so reservations would a good idea especially on a weekend evening. I plan to return."

  • "We had dinner for a party of 10 and everything was spectacular - food - service - ambience. Not on Hanover St - so a little quieter than some of the other spots. They even make their own desserts in an area where most restaurants don't try to compete with the famous pastry shops - and it was delicious!"

  • "Greeted warmly and allowed to choose where we wanted to sit. Small area, and not many people at 8:45 PM. Service was quick and efficient. Food was tasty and filling. Not used to Boston prices though, certainly in line with other prices we paid in Boston. Server presented wine well, but spilled upon pouring in glasses. At $34 a bottle we don't like to see any going to waste. Meatball special appetizers were HUGE, 2 for $9. Salads were fresh and adequate. Eggplant parm was done very well and proportioned nicely. Oldest son and I ordered Seafood Special for $32 each. Certainly enough food, and Fra Diavlo was not too hot. Youngest son ordered Stuffed Calamari which he had trouble finishing due to portion size, and he is a Big Eater!"
