  • "We just had our first dining experience at Ricardo's. We made reservations and our table to 6 was being readied as we arrived. Service was excellent; our server was friendly, helpful, attentive and also entertaining. Some of us had wine (which was excellent); those who did not were not made uncomfortable by the server as can often happen in nice restaurants. The menu was enticing, with an adequate, but not overwhelming choice of interesting selections. Each of us was happy with our meal. The food was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. Both primo and second dishes came with soup or salad and portion size was just right--not skimpy, not oversized. The atmosphere was pleasant and we were not rushed. We will be back again."

  • "The tomato soup was divine, and those who had the eggplant and the razor clams said "best ever"! Had a lovely Chianti Classico Reserva, Nozzole 2009 which we thought excellent and perfect for the food. We had two elders as part of our party, and the restaurant made every effort to accommodate them, including setting up our table to accommodate a wheelchair."

Service we wonderful and staff knowledgeable and even though things were hopping, we felt we had the table for the night (true Italian style) if we wanted to. Wine suggestion was outstanding - a perfect outing for a date night with no kids!"

  • "Everytime we go here we peruse the wine list. It's always fun to take a look at the "book". This time we were with friends who enjoy wine as much as we do. We ended up sharing a couple of bottles. My lamb was melt in your mouth tender. Everyone else was equally happy. We ordered three different desserts to share and agreed that the best was the peanut butter chocolate one. Quite an enjoyable evening. We'll be back."

  • "We took my Mother to Riccardos for her 80th birthday. Wine, food and service were outstanding. Our waitress even sang Happy Birthday to her in Italian. We had requested a quiet table as several diners in our party are hard of hearing. Riccardo's came through with a very nice table in the back of the restaurant."

People make a place and at Riccardo's you can feel the passion and warmth this family brings to their restaurant by all who greet and serve you. We love it for family occasions and celebrations, especially in the summer, where the patio dining gives you a feeling of privacy and special comfort. No one rushes your dining experience at Riccardo's. Indoor dining is a bit more crowded and a wee bit louder, but ask to sit in the back along the wall... it's more private, especially if you bring a group. There's nothing like experiencing something, so if you're curious, go to Riccardo's and see for yourself!"

  • "We were "shuffled off to Buffalo" and seated across the parking lot from the restaurant in a wine store. Our hope for the warmth and ambience of the main restaurant was replaced by a drafty table, gas station single sex bathroom, indifferent service and luke-warm food. (Food is shuttled over in plastic tubs from the main kitchen). We made the best of it and used our back teeth to chew the over cooked entrees. Owner briefly swept thru this outpost, wagging hands of the regulars and skipping the unwashed. Two hours and twenty five minutes of slow motion angina. My take is they went for the Valentine Day money and stretched their their kitchen and wait staff beyond their reach compromising their reputation."

  • "This was our first experience at Riccardo's. We had a few highs and lows. The highs= The Waiter: A real Italian who was not only an excellent waiter, but charming and entertaining. The Wine List: What they must be known for. An amazing variety of Italian wines. The Lows= Seating/Environment: One thing we hate is to be jammed in on a tiny two top table in a long row of tables. With the service staff's rear ends within inches of us whenever they are waiting on an adjacent table. A fine restaurant experience to us requires a modicum of personal space at our table. You wont get that at Riccardo's. The Food: While is was generally good, for the price I expected a little more."

  • "Took my wife here on Valentines day hoping for a nice romantic dinner. Unfortunately, even though I made reservations 2 weeks in advance, we were put next door to the main restaurant in a little diner-like building normally used as a coffee shop/wine bar. Ambiance was nil. Fortunately, the food was good and if you're there during good weather, the outdoor dining looks nice. The food was somewhat over priced and the waiter forgot to ask me if I wanted a different wine than that my wife was drinking so I ended up with the same for $16 a glass. I could have complained and totally ruined the mood so I chose not to. I won't go back unless I can be sure of being seated in the main restaurant and even then I'd not go out of my way to eat there."

  • "I recently took a date to Riccardo's and had one of the best dining experiences of my life. The night started off nicely when our waiter asked my date's preferences in wines and brought a sample that she seemed to really like. The waiter then gave us plenty of room while we chatted and decided on our meals. We were never rushed, which I really appreciated. The food was excellent. I had the breaded veal and my date had a prosciutto pasta. The flavors and appearance were wonderful. We finished with a tasty chocolate cake. What made the date so amazing came at the end. We continued chatting away when our waiter came to announce that an anonymous patron had picked up our tab because we looked like such a cute young couple. It blew me away."

  • "After a short wait to be seated we had attentive but not intrusive service, great advice about wine from Rigel who was also our waiter. The food was excellent and he explained how it worked with(out) specials, the way the dishes were composed and to a shared desert with a lovely sweetish red (port similarities) "Antonelli" which went so well with the chocolate torte. Not cheap but well worth it."

  • "We used to love the Veal Saltimbocca. This weekend, we had an order that was no where near what it used to be. They used to serve plump, succulent medallions of veal. This weekend, they were thinner, drier slices that were not appealing. In addition, the service was so slow that we considered just getting up and walking out. The restaurant was already tapering off its evening volume when we arrived, so the kitchen could not have been overwhelmed at that time, but I cannot remember having slower service anywhere. The server did not say anything to us for quite awhile, so they must be used to the slow service....Lastly, the prices were ridiculously high. $36 for six small, thin, dry medallions of veal...amazing. Ricardo's off our list."

I rarely try anything on the menu other than the lasagne, because it is the finest I have ever had -- every bit as memorable as the legendary pasta dishes of years gone by at Genoa ristorante on Belmont."

  • "We have dined at Riccardo's multiple times and they never fail to please. It was a pleasant surprise to be able to get a reservation for New Year's Eve at the last minute. The food was excellent, as was the service. A pleasant surprise also was the fact that the restaurant called about 15 minutes before our reservation time to let us know they were running about 15 minutes late. So we just waited a few more minutes at home and thus when we showed up, there was no wait time."

  • "Celebrated a 30 year retirement with husband and two friends: Vegan, Vegetarian, & one Gluten Free! There were so many terrific food choices--my personal favorite was the Squash Ravioli! Friends enjoyed the Minestrone Soup & Eggplant Lasagna & mushroom dishes. The appetizers were also wonderful with great non-meat choices. It is great to go to a special restaurant where we all have wonderful food choices, thank you!"

  • "The reviews I read said" romantic". Do not take your better half here if you want to be able to hear each other speak. The food overall was good. I had the lasagna which the waiter said was ther signature dish. I was good but I have had better at Nona's and bugattis. My wife had the veal saltimboca. We called attention to the waiter that her dish was not saltimboca but another dish on the menu he said no it was correct Having made this many times we know that there should be prosciutto and cheese the veal was naked. He could have handled this better but was not willing to admit he or the kitchen had made a mistake. We won't be back or recommend to anyone else."

  • "My husband and I went here in the '90s and loved it but didn't return until recently. We loved it again and decided we wouldn't let much time go by to return. So a month later we went back. It was equally fabulous! We'll be back again soon. The only negative was the loud-mouthed waiter serving the table behind us. When he was talking, we couldn't. Fortunately, he didn't stand there talking to the other patrons for long. We were able to enjoy our meal and our bottle of wine, a wonderful Brunella! Can't wait for our next visit."
