Riccardo TrattoriaWonderful dining experience! This is a wonderful Italian experience. We had great martinis to start with grilled octopus and fried zucchini flowers. The grilled octopus was exceptional. I had a pasta with porcini mushrooms. Beyond delicious. Food great and service & ambiance wonderful5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWho would knowGreat little place. Food and service were great. The place is a little small but not such that one is sitting at the next persons table. We really liked it!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and good serviceVery nice ambience and nice waiters attending you. Our main waiter was italian and I asked what part of Italy was he from (Rome) and as soon as he found out I had italian family he started speaking to me in italian and making very pleasant small talk.
The food was very good and all the ingredients really fresh. Loved the Buffalo Mozzarella "Caprese" and the Eggplant & Zucchini Timbale as entree. As main course the Gnocchi Bava were also delicious.
I recommend it!!!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best Italian food I haveThe best Italian food I have ever had!! Truly authentic!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dinner at Riccardo Trat.We had a truly outstanding meal. To die for: Mussels soup, Mediterranean Sea Bass, Pana Cota.
Service was very knowledgeable and attentive, if somewhat disinterested at times.
A little pricey but well worth it.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding pasta and risotto.Outstanding pasta and risotto. Salad is a bit soggy. Gelato and coconut sorbet were terrific.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my second visit withThis was my second visit with my husband to Riccardo Trattoria, and we both love it! We received the recommendation from a friend, and they were absolutely right. On our first visit we tried the grilled octopus (highly recommended) and a pappardelle with rabbit ragout (a special of the evening). This visit we had roasted duck leg as appetizer. It was cooked perfectly! We then shared the orrecchiete with wild boar sausage and rapini and the ossobuco. Everything was amazing! I have no complaints. The atmosphere is inviting, warm, and cozy. It is a pretty small restaurant so definitely make reservations if you are going on the weekend!4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic Italian food (myAuthentic Italian food (my wife is Italian so we can judge). Super friendly service. A bit cramped but overall experience very goodWould definitely return.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA Rave for Riccardo TrattoriaThis restaurant is truly a gem. Unpretentious. Friendly staff, fine food (the homemade pasta is wonderful), and professional service. We showed up in our jeans and T-shirts after a Cubs game and they treated us like we were special. We noticed that several of the guests were known to the staff, so if you're looking to dine where the locals go, here it is. But be sure to reserve a table. By 6:30 on a Sunday there was already a wait.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first time here and weOur first time here and we will definitely put it into our neighborhood rotation. The food, wine and service...outstanding!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food. Service wasExcellent food. Service was outstanding. Very small so don't expect to walk in and get a table. I would highly recommend this place for a true Italian good lover, but as with anything good - it will cost you.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat tratorria (look up definitiongreat tratorria (look up definition in Wikipedia). While the food was very good (Branzino, Tuscan potatoes and Risoto were the stars on this night), the service stood out and will have us coming back. Warm and attentive.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTrattoria Riccardo was a perfectTrattoria Riccardo was a perfect spot for my husband's birthday. We have been eating american contemporary lately on our outings and this was a pleasant departure. The restaurant has an great aura -dark wood, small scale, high vaulted ceiling and warmly lit with large romantic style chandeliers. Reservations are in high demand and we went on a weekend, so the overall sound was energetic. We have to come back to try more items on the menu since there is so much to taste. The grilled scallop antipasti with bacon was incredible and the panna cotta was the best we both have ever had. My pasta dish was excellent- gnocchi w pancetta. Cocktails were ok, classic nothing out of ordinary.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place really is a gemThis place really is a gem run by true professionals.......everything was outstanding.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMIn my opinion this is theIn my opinion this is the best Italian restaurant in Chicago! We can't wait to go back!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOkay for some romance...Small and romantic. A little pricey for the quality of food.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMbest pappardelle dish I havebest pappardelle dish I have ever had. Period. My husband and I ordered 2 appetizers (steamed mussels and grilled calamari) and 3 entrees (the grilled whole pompano, jumbo quail, and flat iron steak tagliata), and Pappardelle with double smoked bacon for my toddler. All from the today's special menu. Everything was GREAT but I love the pappardelle the best. My toddler let me have some of hers so she could try the quail, the pompano, and the steak. She LIKES everything! For dessert, we had the gelato and it was also very good. We look forward to be back when we are visiting the windy!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGive your review a title (optional)Outstanding Italian menu, very interesting pastas and appetizers, good bargain on the $33 3-course fixed price menu. Also nice to be able to split a pasta course. Waitress was outstanding. Wine pricy at $10-11 per glass but wines interesting and well paired with the food. Ricotta cheese cake devine.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this restaurant! GoI love this restaurant! Go there every year on my birthday. The pasta is always top notch and I've never had better calamari. Once the waiter told me their panna cota is the best -- and he was soooo right! The red wine the waiter recommended was also wonderful, as usual.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
