Great spot, interesting menu--covers the bases of classic old school Italian fare as well as several more ambitious, interesting options. Great service, so friendly. Guillermo and Alex both waited on us and gave fantastic service. Tara (owner) came by to personally say hello and thank us for coming. The drinks, wine and food were superb and very reasonably priced. We had three of the chef's specials that day including a fresh halibut and a stuffed veal chop that were awesome. Do not miss dessert served tableside; Alex is an artist and the zucotto cake and cheesecake are amazing. Since Mario and Tara took it over it has gone to the next level. Everything about this restaurant is top notch! The new decor is a welcome change. Tara always greets you with a smile and is very attentive. The food is excellent as is the service. The fresh pasta, especially the gnocchi, is always delicious. The fish is fresh, boned perfectly and scrumptious! We have eaten here with many friends and everyone raves about the food. Make sure you save room for desserts. From the moment you enter you are greeted with a welcoming smile by the owner and the wait staff is attentive to your every need. The grilled romaine and prosciutto was a unique and very pleasing start to the meal, my husbands sea scallop appetizer was paired with a delicious risotto. We both had steaks, each cooked to perfection and so tender. The rolling dessert cart offers a good variety of choices and you are presented your dessert with creative flair. Try the fusi (Istrian penne) with veal sauce - outstanding. Another standout was the cestino salad - lovely fresh greens in a delicate dressing with almonds and goat cheese, served in a crispy cheese basket. PriceyThe fish was delicious. Pricey and worth it. We had a dover sole ($45) and an order of halibut. Both were great. They pour a generous glass of wine, and the dessert was fabulous - a limencello cake.
