Diner Reviews
  • "This is a very good restaurant and provides a great dining experience. The food is outstanding and it's beautifully presented. Try the mussels in a curry, white wine, garlic broth. Excellent. I would have given the service five stars, but the place was busy and I think they were short staffed a little. Our server forgot several things, but she was so personable that we really didn't mind. I will definitely go back."

  • "The food is inventive; enexpected; there were rose petals in the cucumber soup, as well as pistachios. The steak we shared was fabulously flavorful. The service was attentive but not intrusive. A great place."

  • "We made a reservation at Rezaz on a recommendation from friends who live at Lake Toxaway. The experience was excellent. Our server was gracious and knowledgeable about the menu. The menu was interesting making it difficult to make selections. My husband and I each selected 2 courses and I was not able to finish my main course as the servings were ample. We do not live in the area so making this restaurant a regular choice is not possible but we will plan to visit whenever we are in the Asheville area."

  • "Celebrated a birthday at Rezaz after being recommended by friends. We have a few favorite restaurants in Asheville and never made it to Rezaz. Now after having experienced the wonderful food, atmosphere and service, we will be back often."

  • "I loved the Lamb Shank, which I order every time i go. The Romaine salad is excellent as a first course. Salad has fine parm cheese grated on top and grilled onions and homemade dressing. My friends loved their dishes; flat iron steak and goat cheese ravioli. Red wine recommendations were perfect. We all ordered fabulous desserts, I had the lavender and lemon creme bulea dessert. I love the location away from the overly crowded scene of college age people in downtown Asheville. We could park right outside the door of the restaurant, and walk in quickly."

  • "We were in Asheville and knew there are good restaurants there. Not sure which ones to choose we relied on reviews and chose Rezaz and one other (Market St.). We loved this place. The decor is very inviting and warm. Our waiter was outstanding, and the food choices were excellent for our taste. We began with a glass of Chardonnay accompanied by the reza mezze (3 spreads), then a bottle of excellent reasonable Malbec with the beef kebab and the duck confit. Finally the dessert was great--"brulee'd" peaches with coconut sponge cake filled with lemon curd. Mmmm. Considering what we got and the overall experience and the outstanding service, we felt the bill was quite reasonable. I would love to return tomorrow night."

  • "We have been to Rezaz many times. It was our Anniversary, and we brought our adult children and spouses. They gave us a room in the back....great space. Thought the food was good....but not as good as it's been in the past. For their prices, I'd like outstanding! But will certainly, give it another try!"

  • "Three of us had a wonderful dinner at Rezaz. I strongly second the waiter's recommendation of the battered and fried Manchego with honey and rosemary. The three of us split an order as a starter, and all of us found it delicious. We had shrimp and calamari, a cold octopus salad, a mussels special, Paella Madrilena, scallops, and duck confit. All of our dishes were exceptional. The one disappointment was that we were still eating our first courses when the main courses were brought out. There were many apologies from the wait staff, but that mistake took the glow off the wonderful evening."

  • "We recently had dinner with friends at Rezaz's and everyone loved their meal. The great part was that we had a time limit due to attending a concert at Biltmore and our waiter was fabulous and very accommodating. We will return to have a more leisurely dinner soon and save time to sample the many delicious looking appetizers and deserts!"

  • "We hadn't been to Rezaz for quite sometime and decided to try it with friends and it was an excellent experience . I wish I could remember our server's name because she was outstanding. She made very good recommendation for both food and wine. Two of us had the halibut and it was divine. One had trout which was also excellent. Our friend had the kabobs, and I will definitely try that next time. We had wonderful appetizers with pita bread and 3 types of spread, my favorite was the hummus. We were too full for dessert, but our friend had the pot de creme, which we will try next time! We had cappachino which was very good. We won't wait long to return, and highly recommend Rezaz for an outstanding dining experience"

  • "I took my girlfriend here for her 30th birthday and everyone from the front desk, to the bus boy, to the waiter (Samir) went well out of their way to make it special for us both. Her favorite flowers were at the table for us (by request). Samir did a great job explaining the menu and specials, made a it point to wish her a Happy Birthday when we arrived and when we left. They all did an outstanding job of customer service. Absolute top notch."

  • "The unique menu is fantastic. The manchego snack was perfect to start as was the shrimp and calamari. The braised lamb shank and halibut were perfect and distinctly prepared. We will definitely return."

  • "We had a great dinner! We tried the fried cheese small plate and my wife had the paella and I had the chop. It was all tasty! We went here on recommendation from a friend here in Charleston and it did not disappoint. Frank was very knowledgable and helpful. Keep it up!"

  • "We have celebrated our anniversary at Rezaz for the last several years. We are never disappointed! We do not live in NC, but we make it a point to eat at Rezaz whenever we are there! An a special thanks to our waiter--he introduced himself, but I cannot remember his name. He was extremely attentive, but not intrusive. He also recommended a "dessert on the house", which we shared. Thanks!"

  • "One of the best in Asheville. This was on a Sunday. On Sundays the restaurant has a more limited menu and I did not prefer this version of paella. On the other hand, our Biltmore sparkling wine, appetizer, and spouse's entree were all excellent. The greens for the table were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Rapidly becoming our favorite in this city."

  • "We ate at Rezaz on Sat night. It was quite good. My husband had the lamb shank and I had the skirt steak. Both were quite tasty and very good. Portions were quite large. As an appetizer we shared the calamari and shrimp and it was also very tasty. This restaurant is right across the street from the Grand Bohemia Hotel so was also quite convenient. I would recommend trying it when you visit Asheville. Our wait person was good with the exception of not pouring any wine out of our bottle after the first pour. We enjoyed our meal and would definitely return on our next visit to Asheville."

  • "We visit Asheville once a year and have now dined at Rezaz about four times. It is always wonderful -- the food is very good, the ambience is nice (pleasant decor), and usually our neighbors are courteous and use their 'indoor voices' (pretty rare these days, when most young people conduct restaurant conversations as though they are cheering a team at a stadium). The service is always exceptional, so it's a reliable place for a very good meal. Not quite 'outstanding' in terms of the inventiveness of the food, but that's fine."

  • "Excellent service, ver attentive but not pushy. Food was good. My crab cake appetizer was excellent, with a beautiful presentation. The chicken dish on a mix of veggies and beans was ok but mix was a bit too tart. The " truffle" dessert was supposed to be a dark chocolate. Was actually a caramel rolled in jimmies. Presentation was lacking, plus it was cold, a no no for serving chocolate. Really NO chocolate flavor. My dining partners enjoyed their meal but were not blown away."

  • "We have dined at Rezaz a number of times in the past and this most recent experience was very good, as usual! The food is varied, well prepared, and tasty. The chef really takes pride in his preparation and it shows! The service is always very good. We asked for a quiet table (dining early when they opened for dinner) and were seated in a quiet area. Noise level when we left the restaurant was moderate overall. Parking is available to the side of the restaurant. Highly recommend Rezaz. We plan to return in the future."

  • "The waiter brought the wrong wine and offered to change it but he was not really polite. The appetizer shrimp and octopus, had one shrimp or two, we asked for more and they brought some. The babaganoush was fair. The salmon was a very small portion and the paella was too salty. The goat cheese desert had a crust that tasted old. This restaurant was Highly recommended by a friend but disappointing"

  • "Took a chance based on a recommendation from a hotel and couldn't have been happier! We were entertaining guests from out of the country and were pleased that we found something to be very proud of. Each of us had something different and each dinner was excellent. Flavors were delicious, presentation was great and our waitress, Bonnie was very helpful in selecting sides to go along with our main courses."

  • "Question 2 didn't have dinner listed. We were there for dinner so I would recommend it highly for that. All the service people were very friendly. The diners were of all adult ages which makes it interesting. Our waitress was very helpful in answering our questions and explaining different foods."

  • "The food was outstanding. I had the beef kebab with was tender and perfectly roasted with a wonderful yogurt sauce dressed with cilantro. My wife had a fantastic gigantic meatball with a hard boiled egg inside that was mildly spicy in a good way. This was one of our top 10 meals in our life. We will always come back when we travel this way."

  • "We heard great things about this restaurant, and everything about it lived up to its reputation. Great fresh food and great service. Check out the bakery area for the desserts - they are awesome! This was one of our favorite restaurants during our visit to Asheville."

  • "Second visit and first time for dinner. Had lunch here a few months ago and wanted to try dinner this time. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and service just like last time. Trout and red snapper entrees were both full of flavor. With appetizer and a shared desert we left quite full and happy. Emily is attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Will return next time we are in the area."

  • "We are from Northern Virginia, so eating at Rezaz is a destination dining experience for us when we visit Western North Carolina. Don't make your meal selection until you hear the specials, which use the best fresh, local ingredients. My son had the duck confit appetizer with French green beans. He does not eat vegetables, but ate most of the green beans because they were the perfect accompaniment to the crispy duck skin. I had the red snapper special, which was beautifully seared and perfectly paired with summer vegetables. Save room for the chocolate ganache torte with sorbet. Follow server's recommendation on wine selection and you won't be disappointed."

  • "Rezaz's is one of Asheville's gems. The food is always superb: delightfully presented, with wonderful accompaniments, the menu is interesting, and the waitstaff very professional. There's a nice bar, tasteful decor with soft lighting. Don't overlook this when searching for restaurants in the Asheville area. I used to always take business guests here before I retired because the food was sure to please (and there is something for everyone), the restaurant was quiet enough to have conversations, great wine list, nice mixed drinks at the bar."

  • "Rezaz has a relatively eclectic menu and ambiance/vibe that made our meal fantastic. We started with the calamari and shrimp, which is not traditional calarmari at all. Instead it is tossed in some sort of sweet and sour sauce, which made for a new and interesting experience. My boyfriend absolutely loved it. We both enjoyed our main courses; I got the special and he got a beef kabob. Both were cooked very well. We shared a Reese's bombe for dessert, which is basically peanut butter mouse encased in chocolate: aka amazing. Service was good. Parking was a bit tricky, and I believe I was unknowingly served a Pepsi when I asked for Coke, but overall a great time. Very foodie-friendly."
