We usually get cold-hard butter in other restaurants. My husband ordered wine, beer. You have to ask for the beer list though. We ordered fried oyster as appetizer, we both liked it. The Prime New York Strip was crispy and juicy; Veal Piccata was very tasty. We ordered cream Spinach and Sautéed Mushrooms to share. All the food are well prepared and delicious. Rey cooked Bananas Foster beside our table. If you have sweet tooth, you will certainly enjoy it. The French Press coffee was very good. Some waiters, of course, are more attentive than others.
However, all at Rey's have been at minimum above average... very professional. The food is perfection... everything--steak perfect, vegetables, and dessert perfect . Turtle soup amazing! And, if you enjoy good coffee, it is the best. You just want to linger. Romantic ambiance, too. When we want a special dining experience, we go to Rey's. They were great! The sides of mushrooms & garlic mashed potatoes complimented the meal along with the coffee & cheese cake for dessert. This was an anniversary meal and I'm sure we'll be back for Father's day and my wife's birthday later this month. Classic dining experience including waiters in jackets and bowties with crumb combs. Our service team of David and Kevin were very professional yet friendly. Thank goodness we split the wedge salad because it was huge, but delicious. I had the oscar beef and it was tender and delicious, as was the crab on top. The chocolate raspberry truffle cake was not original (again, old school) but was out of this world. This is not a modern, trendy, fit-for-foodies spot, but the food and service were great.
