  • "Had afternoon tea with wife and daughter. Wonderful ambience and great food. Highly recommended. Very English feeling and beautiful china. Happily accommodated vegetarian dishes."

  • "Reynold's Tavern helped to make a birthday dinner memorable. I've been to the Tavern a few times for lunch, but never for dinner until now. My expectations were very high and I was not disappointed in the least. The building is beautiful and so historical. My guest and I were seated in a perfect spot, by the window. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. I was a little disappointed, at first, that the kitchen had run out of one the entries in which I was interested. I soon forgot about that omission after I tasted the main course that I ordered instead. Afterward, the server followed up with a slice of decadent, chocolate cake with a birthday candle on top. Probably the best chocolate cake I ever tasted."

  • "I grew up in Annapolis but Saturday night was the first time I had dinner at Reynolds Tavern (I went there for afternoon tea a few years ago and really enjoyed it). The dining room is small as you would expect from such a historic restaurant and the service wasn't exactly speedy, but the food was delicious. There were six of us and we all enjoyed our meals (crab cakes, mahi mahi, steak frites, rockfish) very much. I would highly recommend dinner at Reynolds Tavern when you have a little time and want to enjoy the historic ambience of downtown Annapolis."

  • "Reynold's Tavern is one of my Top 5 restaurants in North America. I would recommend it to anyone in the DC/Baltimore region. It is worth the drive!"

  • "My wife and I have eaten at Reynolds Tavern several times. We've never been disappointed. The food is great, and service is very attentive but not annoyingly so. This time, we tried the Long Island oysters appetizer and the bacon-wrapped sea scallops--both were great. I tried the Mint Julep and found it minty and not overly sweet--excellent. They have a good wine list, but we just ordered by the glass and liked what we ordered. We will definitely return to Reynolds."

  • "Never disappointing - excellent service, menu and ambience . . .my friends and I always look forward to our times togethere here!"

  • "I drove down from Delaware and the Tavern did not have my reservation. Luckily with some juggling they were able to accommodate us but if you make a reservation and drive a long way you expect the restaurant to have the reservation. The Tavern is quaint and nice but the food was only mediocre. We both ordered the fish and chips and they were greasy. I ordered the bread pudding and don't understand how they were out of it at 1230."

  • "We did not find this a pleasant dinning experience. A lot of the menu was unavailable the service was gruff All in all it certainly did not live up to the reccomendation we had been given"

  • "We really enjoyed the dinner at Reynolds. We had two 11 year olds and they found the food great also. The drinks were good. The shrimp and sausage was great. We definitely will return to this place. "

  • "We were celebrating a birthday and once the waiter noticed the cards, he brought out a candle-lit piece of cake for the celebrant. We had such a grand time."

  • "I was over the moon at how good the food was at Reynolds Tavern. You must try the macaroni and cheese with bacon (omg!). It was worth going back for. The service was also fantastic. Really nice place run by nice people."

  • "The food here was the best i've had in years. Simply delicious. Compliments to the chef. Our waiter was great also, more than accomodating. This is a historic restuarant with reasonable prices for a fabulous dining experience. We were shocked that is wasn't more crowded but was fine for us since we prefer quiet dining. Very special romantic historic place to dine. Would recommend highly to others. "

  • "Reynold's Tavern is located in old town Annapolis. We had dinner at the tavern on Friday, 9 May. The food was great (we both had the filet), the service outstanding and the ambiance was very nice. We will return soon."

  • "The food was a great example of older traditional American cuisine. The setting was quite relaxed and the cream of crab soup is a must have. Please note that the speed of service is extremely relaxed, so if you are looking to have multiple courses, expect to stay for at least 2 hours. I will surely return here the next time I am in Annapolis. Highly recommended."

  • "Everything mostly was great, great service, great window views of church. Food was really good, but a tad small on portions. Rolls are made to order, but they were a little hard or chewy. Steak was so tender, crab cakes were tasty. But the best part was the crab soup, I would say its more of a bisque but it had to be the best I ever had. "

  • "We came for high tea and it was delightful. What an array of tiny, flavorful gems. And yet we could not finish everything. The service was flawless and we were not rushed. We look forward to going back and highly recommend this gentle afternoon treat."

  • "Son got chicken wings (16 yo and non-stop eater) Only had 70% of his order. My daughter and I had gotten fish and chips and it was just OK. Would visit for cocktails for the fun atmosphere but wouldn't plan on having a family dinner there."

  • "We were treated to a wonderful evening in celebration of our wedding. The bacon Mac is a must. The grilled meatloaf must have been close to 16 oz with a wonderful sweet and sour glaze. The menu is varied enough to allow for most palates. The atmosphere has kept the colonial nature of the building. The drink and wine menu is quite broad. Finally, the overall cost, with drinks, appetizers, entrees, and coffee came to around $40 per person with tip. A must while in Annapolis."

  • "This is a very pleasant historical building. My husband ordered from the lunch menu and I selected from the tea menu. The tea selections were extensive and it was very nicely presented. I choose a scone and several tea sandwiches. I originally tried to make a reservation for dinner, but it appeared that the restaurant was booked on Tuesday evening, so I had to settle for 4:00, not an ideal time to eat. We stopped by the restaurant at noon to see if there were any cancellations and discovered that it is closed on Tuesday evenings. We rescheduled our meal for 2:00. Open table needs to make it clear that the restaurant is not open for dinner on Tuesday evenings."

  • "Some of my girlfriends and I like to get together and have tea. We've had tea at most of the places in the DC and VA areas, and decided to branch out and try Annapolis. Reynolds' Tavern was an absolutely delightful place to have tea. There were many, many choices of types of tea to drink, as well as the style of tea service you might like to have. (Colonial was our choice) Our server was terrific, and the historic tavern was lovely. We even found a small museum-style display of artifacts unearthed from early Colonial Days in the lobby! Our only disappointment was with the tea sandwiches. They were not very good - a real contrast to the rest of the food and a huge contrast to the tea, which was fabulous."

  • "Good food, although a bit pricey. Waiter went out of his way to serve and set up storage of leftovers for our pickup after a Friday night Colonial Players show. Crab cakes very good (although not a really traditional MD crab cake). Mahi and Rockfish meals were very good. Cajun Shrimp and Andouille sausage over Penne excellent (bring your Pepto as it is a spicy dish). Nice dinner all in all. A 6 PM reservation had us out the door and arriving at Colonial Players with ~ 15 minutes to spare for an 8 PM show. On return at around 11 PM noted that the Pub scene was really rockin'..."

  • "Reynolds Tavern has been a favorite of ours for romantic dinners and afternoon tea for years. Their traditional English afternoon tea is one of the best I've ever had. We spent a relaxing 90 minutes enjoying our tea and delicious sandwiches and sweets. The service was top notch as well."

  • "I live my life by experiences or needs. It is the triple play rule(I usually want 3 things) - this experience - I got good food - good service and good ambience. It was probably a Grand Slam!"

  • "First time at Reynolds Tavern and our family really enjoyed it. The food was outstanding, all five of us enjoyed our meals! Not suitable for young children but my kids are all in their early 20's and loved the food. Can't beat the location, love the history and stepping back in time. Meghan did a very nice job caring for our family, sweet girl."

  • "Reynold's Tqvern offers the best afternoon tea experience you can find in the area! Quaint colonial tqvern is the real thing, the food is outstanding, and the service is attentive. I recommend the high tea that includes a a pot of your choice from their extensive collection of teas along with a three-tiered assortment of scones, savory sandwiches and tarts, and sweets galore, plus your choice of soup, salad, or quiche (I recommend the cream of crab soup!). We went to celebrate my mom's birthday, and they rounded out the experience for her with a FANTASTIC slice of multi-layered chocolate mousse cake with "Happy Birthday" artfully written on the rim of the plate in chocolate sauce! What a great experience...can't wait to return!"

  • "We arrived early and they were kindly able to graciously accomodate us. This beautiful historic property on Church Street Circle in the historic city section of downtown Annapolis is a gem and I highly recommend it to visitors and locals alike. We dined here before enjoying a play at the nearby colonial theater, and the restaurant was within convenient walking distance. We will definitely be dining at Reynolds Tavern again, and I would like to try their Tea menu next time!"

  • "This restaurant is centrally located near downtown Annapolis. It comes with a historic background and is decorated in a colonial Williamsburg style. Their menu contains something for everyone's palate. Our waitress was very attentive and our food was hot and tasty when delivered to our table."

  • "I've been here many times - the tea service is always terrific. Salad for lunch was good too. Quaint and authentic decor-feels like you've stepped back in time. Was a bit chilly though- wish they had the fireplace going- not sure if they ever do."

  • "I have been to Reynolds Tavern and the dining experience has been wonderful however my recent visit was disappointing because of the wait staff. Food and atmosphere was wonderful but the poor wait staff ruined the whole dining experience. Our waittress was not welcoming, she did not share the specials of the day, we had to ask if she would take orders for drinks and then had to ask what the desserts were being offered. Very disappointing."

  • "We made reservations for Reynolds on New Year's Eve. We had a great location in the state circle and Reynolds was another great historical location to check out. There were groups there but it wasn't busy; but didn't need to make a reservation. The building was great, if your a history fanatic such as myself. The 5 course meal sounded elegant, but most of the food lacked a distinctive and delicious taste. It wasn't bad, but didn't live up to the wonderful atmosphere we were in."

  • "The highlight here is tea and we went for the top with the high tea--cream of crab soup to start (very creamy) after which the tower of power comes to the table with tiers of scones, finger sandwiches and little pastries. The scones are good and flaky, there are varieties to choose from, the sandwiches standard. Selection of teas is somewhat daunting but Earl Grey with jasmine hit the spot. The whole experience, in an old tavern on Church Circle in historic Annapolis, is a must-do, even if it was so crowded that day that there were long gaps in service."
