Amazing food and service! I went with a group of nine people and was honestly a bit skeptical when I saw that the restaurant was located in the bottom of a Holiday Inn Express. It turned out to be one of the best meals we had during our week in Steamboat and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Food was excellent. Service was terrible. Waitress walked by our table for over 15 minutes before coming over. Continued in this them during dinner. After we ate, they removed plates followed by condiments, etc until the table was bare. Obviously urging us to leave even though nobody was waiting. Rather unpleasant.

The food at Rex's was OK, nothing spectacular but good portions and flavor. Although it is linked to a noisy bar, the dining area was quiet enough to have a conversation. At least for our visit, the service was the low point. Waitress was slow to visit the table after we were seated and then again at the end. It took 10 mins from the time we requested the check until the transaction was completed. If it were a busy night I might let that slide, but the restaurant wasn't full at the time. We might give it a try again on a future visit, but it wasn't a high point this time.

We usually don't do this, but we went to Rex's two nights in a row because the food was so good. The cornbread with praline butter was amazing! The French fries were perfectly crisp and thin, the tenderloin was cooked to perfection, the 2 pizzas we had were deliciously interesting, and the burger was the best that I have had in a long time. Service was friendly but not efficient, but it gave us more time to savor this gem in a ski town of average food.

Rex's was extremely busy on a holiday ski day in Steamboat. Apprehensive that service and / or food quality would suffer as a result. Very pleasantly surprised that the service was outstanding (including details about a specific bar drink) and the food was very good. Well done. The reputation is warranted.

Rex's was perfect for New Year's Eve. We had an early dinner and had plenty of time later for NYE festivities. The beef was incredible! The coconut cream pie was out of this world (and I don't even like coconut)! The staff very accommodating especially considering that half of our group cancelled on us, leaving us with only 5 for what had been reserved for 11.

Making reservations during the holiday season is a must! We walked right in past other waiting customers. Our waiter was a bit slow, but other than that, everything was good. My son raved about his bison burger and the other son (big kid - 6' tall) couldn't finish his burger it was so big. The shrimp mac was ok. The cheese sauce tasted like a Kraft Alfredo sauce. The pork chop special was great. Cost was a bit high for our taste for what we got, but probably in line with what we should have expected in Steamboat during the holidays and the start of the ski season.

It's a great restaurant within an hotel/resort district in Steamboat Springs. The menu has a wide selection and the food was delicious. The staff was very friendly, and although the restaurant was packed on a Saturday at 7PM, our table had been reserved and we didn't have to wait to get in (thanks OpenTable!!). The only reason why I took a star off was because of wait time after being sited - it took about 5 minutes to get water, about 10 more to get actual drinks, and about 20 to actually order. We were on a weekend trip, and had no schedule to keep, so were ok with it; the staff was also very playful/patient with my talkative 8 and 12 year old nephews. I'm happy I went to Rex's, and would greatly suggest it to anyone.

I describe it as High End Blue Ribbon Cuisine but this locals favorite restaurant has great food and is family friendly. It is especially great out on the patio in the summer with views of the mountains. It is next to the Holiday Inn but do not let that scare you as it is locally owned and operated.

We went here because it was the only restaurant within walking distance from our hotel and were hesitant because it was in the Holiday Inn, but boy, were we wrong! The food was so unique, fresh and delicious, the children's menu was better than most, the drink menu was extensive, and they had great happy hour specials. It seemed to be a favorite with locals, which is a great sign. Do not let the fact that it is in a Holiday Inn steer you away - we come to Steamboat every year and will make a point to return to Rex's in the future. What a great find!

We were a party of two. The service was uncharacteristically slow. We had ordered two turkey burgers ( swiss is included) we asked for one without cheese the other with cheddar. After a very long wait the burgers were served, both with cheese! Had to find the hostess -Had to wait for a new turkey burger. Our waiter never reappeared till he brought the bill. ( I don't think he even knew the burger was wrong) . When the bill arrived we were charged EXTRA for Cheddar Cheese! The burgers were very good, but we very disappointed with the experience.

We ate at Rex's the first night we were in Steamboat, and were served by the friendly-est waiter ever. Helpful, personable and thinking ahead... We had the "dip" which we all loved - something for everyone. And then our kids had the garlic pizza - with sweet creamy roasted garlic cloves atop a white pizza. They loved it - sweet and salty combined very well. The adults had burgers and others from the menu, and all was great. So much so that we made another reservation for the end of our vacation. A casual night out, but everything was yummy and the service staff (including our waiter on the second night) could not have been better.

We were responding to a Valentines Day special dinner promo. The food was cooked perfectly. The only complaint was the 2 ounce? portion of the beef Tournedos. Way too sparce. And it wasn't clear that dessert was to be shared. All in all we would probably forego any specials and just do lunch and dinner there.

Food was good, but service was incredibly slow. We suspect it was the kitchen. It took over an hour for our kids' grilled cheese to come. I ordered a glass of wine when my entree finally came, and it arrived with desert. The food was tasty and hot when it arrived, but I can't recommend this restaurant due to the slow service.

We went to Rex's on the recommendation that they have the best burgers in town and we were craving burgers. We had resisted trying Rex's because as a rule we don't enjoy the food or atmosphere of restaurants in motels, but were told that the chef made this one worth a try. For appetizers we had the deep fried mushrooms, which were good, not great. The burgers were good and cooked just as we asked, I would not say exceptional. They were well portioned and came with coleslaw. The coleslaw was awful, probably the close to the worst we have ever had. We would go back if we were craving burgers again or if we were dining with friends who really wanted to go there. The rest of the menu looked interesting. The atmosphere was very bland.
