We went here because it was the only restaurant within walking distance from our hotel and were hesitant because it was in the Holiday Inn, but boy, were we wrong! The food was so unique, fresh and delicious, the children's menu was better than most, the drink menu was extensive, and they had great happy hour specials. It seemed to be a favorite with locals, which is a great sign. Do not let the fact that it is in a Holiday Inn steer you away - we come to Steamboat every year and will make a point to return to Rex's in the future. What a great find!

We were a party of two. The service was uncharacteristically slow. We had ordered two turkey burgers ( swiss is included) we asked for one without cheese the other with cheddar. After a very long wait the burgers were served, both with cheese! Had to find the hostess -Had to wait for a new turkey burger. Our waiter never reappeared till he brought the bill. ( I don't think he even knew the burger was wrong) . When the bill arrived we were charged EXTRA for Cheddar Cheese! The burgers were very good, but we very disappointed with the experience.

We ate at Rex's the first night we were in Steamboat, and were served by the friendly-est waiter ever. Helpful, personable and thinking ahead... We had the "dip" which we all loved - something for everyone. And then our kids had the garlic pizza - with sweet creamy roasted garlic cloves atop a white pizza. They loved it - sweet and salty combined very well. The adults had burgers and others from the menu, and all was great. So much so that we made another reservation for the end of our vacation. A casual night out, but everything was yummy and the service staff (including our waiter on the second night) could not have been better.

Our whole family enjoyed a delicious dinner at Rex's. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is a treat! Locally sourced and lovingly prepared, exceptionally tasty options. Service was a bit slow, but it was a busy holiday weekend night.

My husband and I visit Steamboat several times a year and ALWAYS make time to go to Rex's. The steaks are amazing and the service is even better. The price per person is a little high but definitely worth it.

We were responding to a Valentines Day special dinner promo. The food was cooked perfectly. The only complaint was the 2 ounce? portion of the beef Tournedos. Way too sparce. And it wasn't clear that dessert was to be shared. All in all we would probably forego any specials and just do lunch and dinner there.
