Diner Reviews
  • "Went to Revel for lunch. Beet salad was good, and my guest enjoyed the ravioli. They were out of gnocci that day, although it was on the menu. "

  • "Reservation was for 930 was seated a couple minutes after but only was approached by a server 35 minutes after being seated in a roofless and very cold restaurant. When the server approached us he told us he was not our server but was helping her out. We ordered our appetizers and entrees at the same time because we didn't want to wait an additional 30 minutes to so a server again. When the food came out at 11pm I had to ask for my side of potatoes and then had to sent my filet mignon because it was over cooked and cold. After receiving my second filet I never saw the server and was never asked if the food was okay and from my full meat going back I guess she didn't care - the table of 12 next to us was more important."

  • "I was searching for something I hadn't yet tried and trendy in the meat packing district. This was the perfect choice! Amazing and friendly service and food was outstanding. Perfect!"

  • "I took my boyfriend here for a romantic dinner in the garden area. I got the booth that I requested and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the wines there. He helped us choose the perfect bottle of wine and we really enjoyed the food. The salmon with cauliflower was delicious and so was the seafood pasta my boyfriend got. I whispered to the waiter that it was my boyfriends birthday, and he brought out cake for him at just the right time! Loved the ambiance and the music was great too! Revel is the perfect blend of romance and trendy."

  • "The food was incredible and the ambiance is really great as well. Also a fun place to go out after dinner!"

  • "the food arrived late and cold, service not great, had to ask for coffee refills, had a huge table of 35+ which was more important than my table, food not worth the time, very disappointing"

  • "Went to Revel for the first time to celebrate my birthday with my husband and two sons. We had great time. Food was excellent , love the atmosphere. Will definitely go back. My only negative comment is about the bathrooms. A restaurant of this caliber should have a nice presentable bathroom. Needs to be addressed."

  • "Revel is always a safe, easy choice for brunch. I have been here several times and never had a bad experience. I suggest getting the 2pm seating rather than the 12pm as it gets rowdy and fun the second half. Can't beat the prices for bottomless brunch!"

  • "First visit to the special glass covered garden dining area was a pleasant surprise! This fun meat packing spot has a great offer for brunch.... Pick a meal and get 1 of 3 options unlimited drink for 2 hours for $35 per person. The food was pretty good, though my chicken was a little dry. However we had a great waiter and they were very accomodating with my food allergies which I always appreciate. Would def like to return!"

  • "The ambiance, food and service was well above my expectations. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful in explaining the menu. I ordered the Chilean sea bass which came with brussel sprouts in a lemony sauce with capers. ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL!! While pricey, I will most definitely go back and try a different dish. I heard that their steaks are incredibly delicious as well."

  • "Ate here for a belated valentine's dinner after our original night was snowed out and the restaurant didn't open for the night. The food was very good and the portions were perfect. I got the apple ravioli which was perfectly light and airy. We went on a weeknight and the main part of the restaurant was rather empty, however the host sat everyone in the same corner of the restaurant including a rather loud group of 8. I would say half of the restaurant was empty while the rest of us (clearly all on dates) had to contend with the loud group throughout the meal."

  • "Really enjoyed my brunch here on Saturday. Had originally booked a party of six for 12p, but the staff was happy to accommodate when I called to change to a party of 8 at 12:30p. The service was great -- they kept the carafes of champagne cocktails coming (we did the bottomless brunch option) and they didn't bother us until our two hours were coming to an end. As the afternoon went on, the energy levels picked up a lot, so it's a nice atmosphere -- just expect it to be on the louder side. Another thing to note: lots of good-looking brunchers! Last note: sit in the garden -- totally worth it."

  • "They sat us promptly and kept the drinks coming. You can make reservations for up to 10 people without having to sign a contract. Word of advice choose the 3 hour option. Also build in an extra 15 in your estimate for your guest so every one knows what they will spend that day. I wished the Brunch portion were served family style.Other than that my guests and I had a good time. A little bit too much of the bubbly."

  • "Revel was a great find for me. I took my daughter and sister out for their birthdays. Our server Dani was terrific...very personable, made good recommendations, we really enjoyed talking to her and she was very professional. The food was outstanding! We ordered Grilled Octopus, Fried Calamari and Grilled Shrimp as our appetizers and shared them. I was impressed with each and every one. As an entree, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, it was served over brussels sprouts and I ate every bite of it. Light and tasty. My daughter had a steak which came to the table sizzling on an iron with sauces on the side and my sister had black farfalle with smoked salmon which she thoroughly enjoyed. No room for dessert. Would go back in a heartbeat!"

  • "Enclosed garden is well heated and beautiful. However, the noise level was almost unbearable. The servers seemed to pay more attention to larger groups, especially if they were drinking heavily. Our threesome felt a bit ignored. Food was average at best, although the bacon was heaped on a separate plate and cooked perfectly. You decide if this fits your mood."

  • "This was my second time here and the food was really good. I had the grilled octopus which was excellent. The prawns were good, but for $30, I would have expected at least one side to the dish. The service was just ok."

  • "I was extremely disappointed with the service. We had 8:15pm reservations and weren't seated until 9pm. It took another 1/2 hr for someone to come to our table to just get our drink order. The food was good but definitely not worth the wait. I wouldn't recommend going on a Saturday night if you are really hungry."

  • "....at the bar! The Service at the table was incredible, however when we were having a drink at the bar it was like pulling teeth to get a drink. The DIVA bartenders acted like it was a "velvet rope" bar for celebrities....Hello, its Revel in the Meatpacking! As VIP member of open table, service honestly trumps food. We can have "so so" food, however if we have incredible service we will return. If we have "so so" service and incredible food.....hmm, why should I pay to eat out if I need to deal with DIVA's!"

  • "Revel was fantastic. My girlfriend and I went with another couple and had a wonderful time. I was a little skeptical as it was an "outdoor" brunch on a 13 degree day, however the restaurant was comfortable and the bottomless champagne helped to warm everyone up. William, our waiter, was more than accommodating. We will be regulars there for brunch for the foreseeable future."

  • "Wonderful food, but the service and management was horrendous. Incompetent staff. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone."

  • "Perfect food (perfect coocked steaks, crisp chips, surprising gnocchi al pesto), gentle waiters and particular dining room. Just one big mistake (for us): they decide the gratuity to give."

  • "Reservation was at 10pm. We did sit at 10.20pm and the kitchen closes at 10.30pm. We couldn't even read the menu that they put pressure on us. They shouldn't accept 10 pm reservation if they know the kitchen closes after 30 min."

  • "There was a large corporate function in the main dining area when we arrived. Coat check was inadequate and disorganized, so I felt frazzled upon arrival and it took a long time to be seated. The small dining room on Little West 12th Street was freezing. The guests seated closest to us were inexplicably staring at us. Our server was also overly attentive: peering at us almost constantly. Uncomfortable! At one point we just started to laugh. Are we on the Truman Show? Why is everyone staring at us? Although the atmosphere was unsettling, the food was good. I had the NY Sirloin served on volcanic rock. If you order it, I recommend ordering it undercooked from where you like it as the volcanic rock will continue to cook it while you eat it."

  • "Simply did not enjoy the food and we did not feel the server was very personable. Table was way too close to another large table and our table for three had a seat that simply faced a brick wall. Should have had chair on opposite side to a tleast have a view of restaurant. Also found the temperature very cool"

  • "After checking in and taking our coats, we were seated fairly quickly once arrived. The bar was fairly busy but not over crowded. The dining area is quite pretty with fairy lights and garden like features. The music wasn't too loud which was quite nice. We were served quickly but were not rushed. The fried calamari was delicious (not heavy and oily) with cucucmber dipping sauce -YUM! My sword fish was tasty but a big portion. We also ordered a fillet mignon which comes on a hot grill. Was great. The sides are very large and I think designed to be shared - we barely made a dent in ours :( All tasty (especially the mas potatoes). We would definately go back - its a great place for groups as it doesn't look like it gets too busy or too cramped"

  • "Been here many times. Brunch and dinner. The black linguine and the fish is excellent. The brunch was also very good. Love the atmosphere open garden roof during summer time. Winter enclosed glass roof above. They do have a Dj and the music gets started after you dine which is nice."

  • "We took our youngest son, and his bride of one year here for Black Friday Weekend and had an exceptional time and meal. Our daughter in law loves Gnocchi, so I always look for a menu with Gnocchi on it, and it did not disappoint. I had the Tuna, as did my son, and my wife had the Chilean sea bass. All were outstanding. We have eaten in many fine restaurants in NYC, but I have to say, this equals any of them so far. Great wine list, outstanding food, and a staff that was the best."

  • "My first time at REVEL was wonderful. I waited a the bar for a bit and Brandon was attentive and very pleasant. Dinner was great! I recommend the Chilean Seabass with artichokes -YUM. We attended a Paint Nite Event which was the icing on the cake. Bravo Revel!!!!"

  • "What I love most about this place is the white Christmas lights in the atrium space. It's really a nice atmosphere with the tree in the middle as well. I also like that dining area is a separate area from the bar scene. The food was good and the service was great!"

  • "FIrst off I will say that the place is gorgeous. The garden seating and setting is stunning, very romantic. The food was also very good. The calamari and shrimp appetizers were properly portioned and delicious, though the shrimp lacked any seasoning. The problem I had was with the main course. I got the Texas blue prawns, and it was literally FOUR prawns, that were not even too big. There were no sides that accompanied the dish, just three sauces. It was delicious, but for $28, it was definitely not worth it. My wife ordered the yellowfin tuna, and after the entire table got their food, she was told that the ticket got lost and so her order was never submitted. I'll be back, but I'll be more inquisitive about the menu before ordering."

  • "Right after we ordered the appetizers, the waiter comes to the table and announces that "the kitchen is closed". Not closing, but closed. 30min before the listed operation hour. Wish we has a warning first. Didnt expect a place liked that to be so unprofessional! Last time any of us goes there!"
