Sanford House Restaurant 506 is a hidden gem in Arlington, Texas- where most are chain restaurants. It is refreshing to step into something so different. 506 is elegant but not stuffy, offering delicious gourmet food for the same price you would pay elsewhere for a much lesser quality. Lunch was no more than what would be spent for the average local Tex-Mex fare. Great spot for lunch or dinner!

While I have heard of this restaurant for some time, I had never eaten there because they are not open for dinner on our usual night out, Wednesday. This was an exceptional week, and we decided to try it on Thursday. The food and service were excellent. The menu is interesting, and the wines by the glass were good. There seemed to be an excessive concern for our pallets. Twice we were served small items to "cleanse the pallet", the first one before we had been served anything but bread and wine. The dining room was small and there was one other party there when we arrived. It was easy to overhear their conversation, although they were not boisterous. If they ever start serving Wednesday dinner, we will return from time to time.

Wonderful Sunday brunch with my mom. She had gone to lunch with friends 3 days earlier and wanted to go back for her birthday. The spicy Bloody Caesars ( Mary's) were great, as well as the Crab Cakes Benedict and yummy desserts! Very nice staff let us enjoy and visit and did not rush us out even though it was past 2 o'clock.

Had thought of going to Restaurant506 for brunch several times, and finally made it. All 3 in our party had the crab cake benedict, which was wonderful, as was the service. We are now planning to return for dinner and considering the restaurant for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner in May.

The restaurant was very pretty and the waiter was very good. The food, however, was mediocre to poor and overprice for what was served. One fried ordered a watermelon salad and it arrived with a plateful of lettuce, a 2 inch strip of watermelon, a half or a miniature tomato, a few nuts and no dressing...all for about $9.00. We will not be back.

This is such a wonderful restaurant and I love going to it. I have been there at least 5 times and every time everything is just perfect. The food is well prepared, very tasty and always looks picture perfect. The waiters are very attentive but give you your privacy too. I just have no complaints about this restaurant and love that it is close to where I live and we are fortunate to have it in Arlington. I believe it is the best restaurant in Arlington!

This little gem is unexpectedly right in the middle of a not so great neighborhood, but don't let that keep you away. We were staying at the Sanford House and decided to try out the restaurant. What a wonderful experience!!! We had a group of five and we are ordered something different....my halibut was cooked to perfection very moist and flavorful. My husband order the pork chop special! The pork chops was to die for.....we were all fighting to take a taste of his pork chops!! Breakfast the next day was just as good as our dinner the night before! The service was absolutely the best I have had in some time.....Would definitely tell all of my friends this is a must do restaurant if in the area on VACA!

We arrived in Arlington several days before a football game. Wanting to go to a nice place for dinner, and not wanting to trek into Dallas or Fort Worth, we took a chance on Restaurant 506 after looking over reviews of local restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised at the ambiance of The Sanford House and the quality of the food. We have eaten in a lot of restaurants over the years, and we rated Restaurant 506 as one of our favorites. Everything was delicious, from the cocktails, appetizers and the chocolate/espresso sorbet to cleanse our palates, to the outstanding entrees and unique dessert. The staff was also delightful and adept. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area, and will recommend to friends and family.

Saturday night was not the best. We had made reservations early but did not get the table requested and in fact probably got the worst and loudest table in 506. The tuna appetizer was only fair, and the sirloin was less than mediocre.. The other diner was pleasantly pleased. The service at the bar and at our table was excellent but slow and I am guessing because there was a huge party out side. Sorry, we usually find this restaurant to be the best in the Metroplex.

Ok, found the Sanford House because it was close to the ball game we were going to in Dallas, but the whole experience was fantastic. Food was very good and very well priced. It was our first visit so after reviewing the menu we decided to make our own tasting menu. Ordered all the appetizers which included couple of salads , lobster bisque was one of the favorites, lamb and scallops very good as well. We stayed at the inn and did the brunch the following morning. Recommend the pulled pork benedict. Great hollandaise sauce !!! The chef Chris and general manager Camille did great job! will be going back

Our first experience at 506 was Sunday brunch. It was wonderful. Couldn't wait to go back for dinner. Invited friends and went on 8/22. Totally different experience. Food was mediocre and pricey. Service was slow. Will not go back for dinner, brunch maybe. I was disappointed and embarrassed that I had recommended 506 so highly to my friends.

This is my fourth time to dine at the Sanford House & as before, was not disappointed. There was a table of noisy ladies right next to us this time discussing all their medical ailments but thankfully they left about half way through our meal. Dinner was delicious & the service impeccable. The "Chocolate Destruction" dessert is to die for!

We ate at Restaurant506 for DFW Restaurant week. The pork chop was juicy, but needed seasonings. The salad was excellent. The best part of the meal was the toffee bread pudding. The server said various bread pudding flavors are rotated outside of restaurant week. I think the toffee should be a permanent offering. The only criticism I have is we were seated at a 2-top table by a hunting scene oil painting that depicted dead animals. I'm not against hunting, but that painting was not an appetizing site for me. (I guess it appeals to some people.) One final note - always check your bill. When we started examining why it was higher than we expected, we saw the tip was already included in the total. Not a problem, but just be aware.

In addition to a wonderful meal, we were treated to amuse-bouches before and delicious berry sorbet as a palate cleanser before the entrée. The furnishings are beautifully elegant and the several rooms in the restaurant are nice and cozy. Our waiter was a well-mannered young man and the service was timely and good. The restaurant is in a B&B with a wraparound porch and beautifully landscaped grounds with two gazebos, a floral archway and inviting benches.

506 is an Arlington Jewel not to be missed. Lovely setting, numerous amenities and great food. We invited our friends who had never experienced 506 for brunch. Of the 4, two ordered the Toasted Reuben Sandwich which was awesome, equal to those I've had in Chicago and New York. The other two in our party ordered the Pecan Crusted Crab Cakes and the Cavatappi Jambalaya. Raves for the Crab Cakes and the Jambalaya was great but not the traditional Jambalaya the diner expected. None the less, he was not disappointed. The starter Bloody Mary's were terrific and quite delicious. One is plenty. The homemade ice cream was an excellent cap to a great brunch. You can't go wrong with this dining choice. Always plenty of parking just across the street.

Had not been to this local treasure for a while and in returning this week we discovered that it had a new chef who was outstanding and presented the most wonderful food. He came out to visit with us for a while and we learned that he had been there for 2 years. What an improvement! Every course was better than the one before and we hated to see the end of the meal. Of course we could not have eaten another bite but it was truly memorable and we can't wait to go back.

My Mom and I met for brunch a few weeks ago and had our selection picked out from the online menu. We got there and were told about the specials and ordered those instead. The french toast was absolutely the best I have ever had in my life! I am still thinking about it. I decided to go back the weekend after to try Pulled Pork Benedict that I initially wanted to try and it was delicious as well. They have really good mimosas and excellent beverage choices. The service is fantastic and the restaurant is really cute and quaint. The prices are very reasonable too. I highly recommend Restaurant506! I cant wait to go back for dinner.

This is one of our "go-to" places for a quiet meal for my wife and I. We eat here about once a month, perhaps more. The food is always fabulous. The service is always excellent. I have always rated Restaurant506 with 5 stars, previously. The last few times we have been there for a quiet meal we have been surrounded by very noisy, often large tables of folks who seem to think they're at a TGI Fridays. The noise level is sometimes uncomfortable. We move tables when possible. Business there is obviously increased, which of course is wonderful. I know I'm being selfish, but I wish that I could hit rewind and go back to the quiet little place that nobody knew about.

My husband and I have dined here several times and always enjoy the table for 2 in the window, to the right of the entrance. We were fine last night until a party of 8 or 10 people were seated at the large table next to us. Then we could not hear each other at all. Also, my husband found the boar to be bland and a little tough. We are used to boar being braised awhile to make it tender, but this was just grilled. My trout was delicious but we lost interest when the noise got so loud. We went outside to finish our wine and sat in some chairs with wet cushions - literally put a damper on any enjoyment. I won't book here again until I find out if there's going to be a large party at the same time.
