The menu didn't have a lot of options, but it did have a nice variety. From sandwiches to steaks, there should be something to please everyone. I had the New York Strip Steak, and it was cooked perfectly. I'm rather particular about my steak, too.

  • Food was okay, but NOT worth the $

We ordered the lobster mac & cheese and asian shrimp for apps. They were both good, however even the waiter stated "the salad under the shrimp is pretty pointless." For our mains we ordered the cajun steak and rhode island-style fried clam boat. The cajun steak, which was $32 due to the morel mushrooms, was ok. There were two very small crisped mushrooms on top and no cajun flavoring could be tasted at all. When ordering the clam boat, I asked if they were strips or whole and the waiter said "Im pretty sure they are strips." THEY WERE NOT! It had great flavor and was cooked incredibly, but when I took the second to last bite and there was a fully belly in there I nearly threw up. The drinks were decent but also too pricey at $13 a pop.

We dine out quite a bit and my husband is tough to please. Our waiter was one of the best we have ever had. The food was also very good (Kobe Sliders are fantastic). We had a wonderful pre-show meal. We called to say we would be late due to traffic and they were very accommodating. I work in the area and we will be back!

I though the food was flavorless. Compared to Blue Ink, I thought the menu was boring. I had the 1/2 chicken and was moist but just bland. The quinoa and avocado salad was the same. I always enjoy eating at Blue Ink and I used to enjoy his food at Gargoyles. Very surprised and very disappointed.

We ate here after a play so it was late. There was only 2 other tables with guests and a handful of people at the bar. We had the steak and the monkfish. Both were very good. The flavors with the fish were wonderful. The steak was perfect. Our server was very inattentive which basically ruined the experience. It took to take our order and how unhelpful she was with questions on the menu. However, the part that ruins your meal is when you are only half way thru your meal and out of wine with no one in sight to order another so you can enjoy your fish with wine. While the food was worth coming back for the service makes it not worth the trip.

Abby Lane is my favorite restaurant in all of Boston, I have dined there many times and each time, I leave even happier. The nachos are the best I've tasted, along with all their really unique dishes. The desserts are always savory as well. The executive chef of the restaurant was the runner up in Hell's Kitchen so this man can definitely run an amazing restaurant. Overall, if you don't eat here, your missing out. It's that simple.

Made a reservation for dinner before the Neil Finn show at the Schubert Theatre, located just next door. We were given a choice to sit at a high top or standard table and chose the high top. Ordered drinks, then settled on the Mahi tuna appetizer (4 pcs) and a Bianca pizza, which was plenty for two. Both selections were excellent. The restaurant has a modern casual décor and ambience. Abbey Lane also offers a discount for day of the show diners. Excellent choice for any occasion!

Disappointed. Had picked the restaurant because of its Brunch menu on Sundays (saw on the Web). Was informed when we arrived that they were not doing Brunch because of some event at the Wang center across the street and they didn't want the menu too complicated for the kitchen. Restaurant was not very busy. If you're going to say you do Brunch, do it, otherwise don't offer it on your website.

We wanted a restaurant near the Wang Theater---it was great. We sat upstairs, next to a window, so we enjoyed the late afternoon light. We enjoyed dinner--I had seafood; my husband had steak. Both were excellent. We drove to Boston from The Cape, and we had to return home after the performance, so this was perfect!

We arrived at Abby Lane around 5:30 and there were only a few tables filled. We were seated upstairs in a deuce by the windows. Server was great. food was good... we were wondering if it was going to get busier. By 6:30 the place was packed with a mix of after work and pre theater crowd. the re-arrangeable seats in the middle of the room allowed a large group of co-workers to all sit together. A really fun atmosphere--- got in & out in plenty of time for the show.

Made reservations to have brunch before a 1:00 show at the Wang. They open at 11:30 so the timing was perfect. We were sitted right away when we arrived at a table by the window, that was nice. This is obviously a perfect spot to go to before a show at the Wang since it is right across the street. I would say most of the customers there were going to the show. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. The food was very good, served hot and everything was very fresh. We ordered the donuts appetizers and had the scrambled egg and omelet brunch meals....all very very good. The noise level I found to be kind of high but not sure what could be done to improve that. I would certainly recommend Abbey Lane.

On Saturday I reserved a table for Sunday Brunch - the menu looked great! We arrived at 11:30, and were given the lunch menu. When I requested the Brunch menu, I was told that they were not serving brunch that day because there was a show that afternoon (which is why we were there!) , and it was "too complicated" for the staff. No mention of that when I booked the day before. The lunch menu, food and service were fine - nothing special. However, the decor is wonderful.

The menu looked great. The food was disappointing. I'm a polenta lover, but the polenta here had no taste. One portion of it had a mound of cold soft cheese like a thick sour cream. It, too, had no taste. My friend's baby kale Caesar salad came with white gloppy dressing. The Kobe sliders were the first time I've had Kobe beef served well done. Grilled avocado with quinoa was bland. The sparkling rose wine I ordered -- a personal favorite -- was undrinkable because it was as sweet as soda. Our waitress was very friendly but knew nothing about the food she was serving. When the dishes were cleared. neither she nor the other servers cleaned off the table before serving coffee and dessert. Overall, this is not a serious restaurant.

Everything was outstanding. The food was wonderful. I only had a hamburger, but it was the best hamburger I've ever eaten. Even the coffee was great. Usually, restaurant coffee is awful, but the coffee here was better than anything I've had at Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts. The French Fries were great. Even the pickles were wonderful. The barbecued potato chips were exceptional. I just loved the place. I look forward to returning very soon.

This restaurant is in a great location. I had brunch, a spinach feta cheese omelet with a potato pancake and sliced cherry tomatoes. The least pleasant part of the experience was the waiter. He had a rude, impatient tone and did not check back, so it took several minutes before I could flag down another waitress to get salt and pepper. I also had to wait to get the ck. The food was very good, although the menu said the omelet came with a tomato salad and it was instead a garnish of several sliced cherry tomatoes. That's fine but the menu should say what it is. So overall the kitchen's doing fine but there needs to be better management of communication and service to customers.

The lunch menu is decent and the midday vibe is good, but they had ONE WAITER for the whole lunch service!! We decided to go to Abbey Lane because we had a show at the Wilbur at 7:30. We had reservations at 6:30pm and were seated right on time. However it took 15 minutes for something to take our drink orders, then another 10 for them to bring them out. We were sure to order our food right when the drinks came as we didn't have much time left. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the tacos were very good, even without a lot of meat. The side of grilled avocado with quinoa was a little flavorless and then shrimp appetizer was ok. If the service would improve, then I would consider going back...but not worth the wait for what you get and the prices you pay.
